STEP AWAY FROM THE RAZOR, do not shave heads!!!

Everyone keep fingers, toes and eyes crossed please. Estate agents coming round today to value our place, am hoping they say yeap worth a fortune and we can sell it within a couple of weeks. Wishful thinking I know but I can dream.

Scoot LG&T the WI, making jam seriously you have not paid attention to my supreme lack of Nigella skills why would I want to make jam when you can go to Waitrose.

TAM have you got Karvol great for putting on PJ's to keep the snuffles less snuffly. I think you can get vitamin drops to add to milk.

Good luck with the scan TYG.

cinnamontam · 23/01/2008 10:57

Thanks Julie - I'll go down and get some Karvol today as she can't breathe AND suck dummy while trying to sleep and it's driving her nuts!

mom2latinoboys · 23/01/2008 12:51

I will do my best to keep the razor away, but he says he'll do it when I'm at work one day.

Julie good luck with the house. Our house has been on the market since october. I don't know about over there, but here the market is very slow.

SKYTVADDICT · 23/01/2008 16:51

TYG - I've also been watching those down under programmes and always end up in tears when they show the family videos!

C had his 8-10 mth check today and passed with flying colours. I also got a point less on my "depression" questionnaire which is amazing as I am quite panicky today about work tomorrow and have loads to do tonight to get ready.

Better get on with it I suppose!

I think C needs a hair cut but we keep putting it off and DP says he doesn't.

Tam, you can get drops as Julie says, like Abidec to go in milk. You can give cod liver oil - 5ml per 50lbs in weight, so you'd need to adjust and double check with the pharmacy/ health store about dosage.

If she needs immediate relief and the Karvol/ Snufflebabe type thing isn't helping then you could give Calcold, which I found does wonders. I know some people prefer not to go down the pharmaceutical route though.

cinnamontam · 23/01/2008 18:12

Thanks TYG. I'll need to add the vitamins to her food cause I'm still breastfeeding and she won't drink water so I've no liquid to add it too. I'll go and have a chat with the pharmacy tomorrow.

AAAAARRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I can't live with a 14 year old anymore, cannot do it! On the feckin phone trying to get student loans sorted for my course, which I haven't got a sodding clue about what's happening with it. On the phone for about 90 hours going thorugh the 'please press one for.......' and C starts to bawl her eyes out downstairs. She's with my sister so I think to myself that she'll be ok once she's been settled. Continue going through stuff on phone, C still bawling. Then my sister starts shouting 'whats wrong with you' at her! Leave it another minute to see if she stops, which she doesn't. Just got to the bit on the phone I need when my sister really starts yelling at C. Hang the bloody phone up to go downstairts and C is lying in a heap on the floor crying her eyes out whilst my sister is lounging on the couch screaming at her!

I know she's only 14, but seriously? I asked for 10 minutes to get some calls made and emails sent! She didn't have to do anything except watch her. She also decided to leave all her plates on the floor in the lounge, which C then fell face first into apparently. More red marks! Then all I get is 'she's your fu*in daughter, you look after her you stupid bich!' I've been with C all day, I can't get anything done unless somebody takes her for 5, then everyone gets at me if I haven't done soemthing.

AprilMeadow · 23/01/2008 19:10

What a nightmare M2CM!

Julie hope you have had a good valuation on the house

M22LB, NOOOOOOOO dont let dh do it

TYG how did the scan go?

AbbyLou · 23/01/2008 19:24

Evening everyone, just having a catch-up fest! It's taken me ages so I must admit to scanning a bit towards the end.
Really glad to hear Cam is ok, can't believe she's got servants.
So busy, busy, busy here. Kids aren't sleeping well at the moment and it's doing my head in. C was ill last week with a virus and it always puts him out of his stride with sleeping for a good couple of weeks. He just seems to be so tired all the time. I'm assuming it's because he's just started Nursery but I will start to worry if it doesn't settle down soon. Now R has got the virus I think as she is coughing constantly and then screaming because I think her throat hurts! She isn't sleeping well either. Neither is she feeding. She will have bits of food and a few drops of milk and that is it. It's doing my head in, I'm so busy at worka dn ahve to work until late every night - I need my sleep!!!
Dh has gone out tonight so I'm hoping to catch up on a few things while I've got the house and pc to myself!!

mom2latinoboys · 23/01/2008 20:09

Will one of you please come hold my hand
"look atthis"

AbbyLou · 23/01/2008 20:28

I've left you a message on your other thread - I'm holding your hand as we speak!!

AprilMeadow · 23/01/2008 20:30

juliewoolie · 23/01/2008 21:11

left you a message. x

AprilMeadow · 23/01/2008 21:14

dont tell LG&T..........

anneme · 23/01/2008 21:16

I'm hanging on to that hand too!

twelveyeargap · 23/01/2008 21:19

Phew! Another one!

Tam - if you're still breastfeeding and you're getting enough vitamin D and omega 3, then you won't need to top up that.

I know years ago they used to say that topping up breastmilk with some vitamin drops was a good idea, because there's something of a lag between what they're getting from you and getting extra iron etc from food. Not sure what the current thinking is though.

juliewoolie · 23/01/2008 21:23

piffle to that I would have thought TYG if you are breastfeeding the bub should be getting all the nutrients.

Blimey tis all go on here tonight.

What happened with your scan all ok TYG?

HOuse valued amazing news its worth about 30 grand more than we thought have engaged an agent going to see my dream house on Sat.

I must I must I must not get my hopes up.

AbbyLou · 23/01/2008 21:37

How exciting JW - what great news on the house. I really hope it all works out well for you. I have finished my school work now for tonight. I'm being observed tomorrow by the ICT co-ordinator on using ICT to support the teaching of Maths!! Whoopee-do! I've done my lesson plan and hopefully it will be ok. Tbh honest the woman doesn't have a clue what she's talking about half the time so I'm not that worried.

cinnamontam · 23/01/2008 21:43

Thanks Julie and TYG. I think I'll just keep trying to eat well and see how she goes.

TYG - scan go ok?

Julie - fab news on the house. That is fantastic. Crossing everything that the dream house is also as wonderful inside as it is out.

M2TLB - holding your hand too...

anneme · 23/01/2008 22:10

Re vit drops - I saw the dietician recently (due to DS1's intolerances etc) and they said that they are now recommending vit drops again if you are bf after 6 months but this is very new and so not all surgeries/health visitors etc know - the dietician had to tell my HV and they have ordered some for me. Mind you they have not turned up yet and we all seem perfectly healthy!

twelveyeargap · 23/01/2008 22:20

Woo hoo Julie! That's great news.
About the vitamins... It's something to do with the weaning process and breastfed babies reducing their milk intake, yet not consuming enough food for a time, to make up what they're missing. Something like that. It's probably wrong!

Anyway, scan went well, thanks. I optimistically turned up 40 mins early, in the hope of getting seen early and was out of the hospital before my appt time! And I stopped to give A a banana for lunch. Hehehe. Sonographer thought I was 13+3, which is now two weeks less than my LMP date would give. Early scan dated me one week less pregnant than dates. Who feckin' knows? I'd rather have a later EDD than earlier though. They won't be bothering me about inductions. EDD is now 27th July. Baby very obligingly did some kicking and waving and a cute little stretch with an arched spine. It was the clearest dating scan I've had of the three. Really lovely. I don't bother with the nuchal testing.

twelveyeargap · 23/01/2008 22:21

X-posts with anneme... Vit drops def won't do any harm anyway.

Pebblemum · 23/01/2008 22:46

M2LB holding your hand too, sure everything will be fine

TYG Glad the scan went well, I never managed to get seen early for my scans, they were always running at least 30mins late, then it would seem they rushed mine to try and catch up.

M2CM I have every sympathy with you, i cant even go to the loo on some days let alone do everything im supposed to and trying to make phone calls are the worst, ive lost count of the number of times ive had to hang up mid conversation because A is bawling and wont settle, luckily most people understand.

Anyone with experience of stroppy 10yr old boys, please tell me they improve as they get older. I swear J thinks he already a moody teenager, hes got the moodswings and attitude of a 15yr old. Yesterday I wouldnt let him go out and after sitting sulking in the hall, then chanting the words 'i want to go out' over and over until I shouted at him to go to his bedroom, he stormed off shouting about how out of order i was, how he hates me etc. It was annoying but at the same time it was funny especially when I appeared at his bedroom door and he cowered in the corner of his bed like a little kid, even thoug i couldnt reach him, he sleeps on the top bunk No matter what i say he seems to answer back. The annoying thing is he wont do it when dh is around, makes me sooo mad

Tam Im sad about Heath Ledger too, he was on my 'men im allowed to s**g' list, have had a crush on him ever since i saw 10 things i hate about you. Such a waste.

AprilMeadow · 23/01/2008 22:47

Aww thats great TYG. I loved going for the scans with J&E.
