JL dont panic the mortgage man has said yes but those pesky markets are causing us to think again lets hope they dont tumble anymore. But I am still going to have a look properly at them this weekend, you cant fall in love with a house jsut from looking at the outside and peering in the windows can you.

Right send that little monster over to me and I will give him some JW tough love for the night you can borrow my monster in return.

AM god poor you hope you are feeling better this morning, I know its revolting but diarolyte is great for getting your salts and sugars back in or Lucozade. You need ypur strength. Oh is Ella still sleeping through?

PMSL TYG at the home haircut I remember giving myself one when little and my mum going bonkers at me. MY DP is trying to persuade me to cut A's whispy bit of hair off but I am refusing am hoping as both of us have mucho curly hair that A's will go the same and he can have hair like hugs.

Dh was fantastic! He said that he heard me retch and then then next thing was a big thud as i hit the floor. He said that it took 5mins to get me to come round. He got me into the recovery position as i was vomming whilst blacked out (how attractive). 2nd time i was sat on the loo and fell off and against the door. Feel right as rain this morning so all is good.

My dad had had a bad stomach during the week but failed to mention it! He has now passed it to me, dh, my sis her bf and the owner of the b&b!

Ella is still sleeping through so i think that it is now safe to say that she has cracked it! Just J to train now

Scoot I would have seriously lost it at dh if he had taken my house key and not said!

I bet A looks so cute with her hair cut. And at DD1's chest size!

Hey Tam & JL

Julie how exciting looking at new houses

LG&T lol at J&P being so eager to get to school

Morning

Feeling great as I went to bed at 9:30 last night, woke at 7:30 this morning. Can't rememeber the last time I went to bed before midnight C is still fast asleep!

Am still ebaying like mad, and have now bought a new carseat for C. Was going to fork out £120.00 for a Maxi-Cosi Priori XP in pink, but then thought that seemed far too expensive for something that is used about once every month. I don't drive and walk everywhere with the pram, so bought one that was only £44.00 including p+p that I actually prefer.

Must go and wake C or I'll never get her down tonight, back to catch up later.

largeginandtonic · 22/01/2008 09:51

Wake the baby...

cinnamontam · 22/01/2008 12:10

MTCM - Wake the baby?? In our house it's DON'T wake the baby Yay for a good nights sleep. Does that mean it's my turn tonight? Tild is waking every 2-3 hours to feed and I'm a 'little' bit tired.

MumtoCharlotteMay · 22/01/2008 14:10

hehe. Normally I don't wake her at all, partly because I don't agree with waking them from a sleep. I went in and thought I'd leave it another half hour and see if she woke by herself. Went down, unstacked and restacked the dishwasher, swept the floor, wiped down the worktops, cleaned all the bottles, fed the animals, made C her bottle, went up and she was awake. Canged her, gave her the bottle and then a had a cuddle for an hour whilst watching Dirty Dancing. She can sometimes be really good when it's bedtime, and sometimes she wont go to sleep until gone midnight. I've put it down to teething as she's ok sometimes. Which is why I can't have her sleeping too late, she'd never go down tonight!

Can I ask a feeding question? I'm so confused as to whether I'm giving C the right stuff. Some of you have said how their milk is still the most important thing, so how do I still fit in solids if I shouldn't really reduce her milk intake? She's still on hungry baby milk, should I stop her on this now and go onto follow on milk?

Her daily food intake is usually:

Breakfast: porridge, youghurt, whatever milk she can manage, between 3-5oz usually.

Lunch: 1/2 jar if food, yoghurt or friut custard compot, whatever milk she wants, 3-6oz.

Dinner: Same as Lunch

Before bedtime: 8oz bottle of milk.

I'll also give her some juice and things to nibble during the day, like a carrot/rice cake/biscotti buscuit/apple etc. Is she having too little milk? She enjoys her food, and I usually give her what she seems to want. Sometimes she has no interest in solids, sometimes she doesn't want her milk. For lunch she's just had half a jar, a petite filous yoghurt and 5oz of milk, and for breakfast I just gave her 8oz of milk. Is this wrong, is she having too much solid based food?

juliewoolie · 22/01/2008 14:23

M2CM, Yes milk is their main source of nutrition for the first year. Sometimes A doesnt really fancy much milk sometimes he doesnt fancy solids. So thought if I put an example of his day might give you some ideas. Essentially you feel like you are taking a step backwards as it is almost like going back to 2 hourly feeding.

7.30 - wakes 7oz aptamil stage 3

8.30 - breakfast, half a weetabix with full fat cows milk or toast or yoghurt.

11.00 - 7oz aptamil stage 3

12.30 - lunch, sandwich or leftovers from previous night, eg stew, stir fry roast dinner, chhese sandwich or houmolus on pita. That sort of thing and fruit or petit filous.

3.00 - 7oz aptamil stage 3

5.00 - tea same sort of thing as lunch.

7.00 - 7oz aptamil stage 3

So thats a rough idea of his days intake sometimes he guzzles the milk other times he faffs with it and doesnt bother. I try to give him a good mix of fruit, veg and protein. In various forms as mash or as finger food. Oh he also drinks water throughout the day just give him a sippy cup and invariably if I am eating and he is not he will try a bit of mine.

I have found having him on quite a structured daily routine helps sadly if he sleeps longer it may be lovely but we pay for it the rest of the day as he is all off kilter, mealtimes and sleeps go to pot so we try to keep to his routine as much as poss.

Hope that helps.

MumtoCharlotteMay · 22/01/2008 14:50

Thanks Julie

Still confused though lol! C won't eat that much in such a short space of time. She eats every 4 hours, I've attempted trying to feed her every 2-3 hours but she just took less because she was still full from a previous feed/meal. So it's every 4 hours with her, if she goes to bed later than her normal bedtime she'll have another 8oz of milk, but this doesn't happen all the time. She's in a good eating routine and loves her food, but I'm not sure if she is getting enough milk. But if I stop giving her as much solid based food, she'll pretty much just be on milk.

She's gaining weight very well, she was 18lbs 3oz last week and she seems to have gained quite a bit since then, I'd say she's now at the tail end of 18lbs She's not even 8 months yet lol.

Should I maybe take her off the hungry baby milk? That way she might be able to take more milk.

MumtoCharlotteMay · 22/01/2008 14:55

Fc! I've just remembered that C had her 3rd set of jabs today, at 10AM!

Oh god, I'm so crap! Now I have to wait for the health board to send me out another appt. This is the 3rd time she's missed this set! Bollocks to it all!

AprilMeadow · 22/01/2008 17:27

M2CM, Ella's routine is this:

8am porridge/cereal followed by 7oz of milk

lunch either a jar of savory and a pudding or something from the freezer and a yogurt

3pm 7oz milk

tea similar to lunch

7.30 7oz milk

Ella is 9mths and still only weighs 17lbs

She will have the odd rice cake/ biscuit/ whatever i am muching on that takes her fancy

MumtoCharlotteMay · 22/01/2008 17:41

AM hope you're feeling better. Your dh wins DH of the day award for looking after you by the sounds of things.

Thanks for posting the feeding routines. Think what I'll do is leave it 15 minutes after her food before giving her her milk and see if she wants any more that way. Maybe I'm stuffing her with milk to soon after her food. Perhaps think about switching her onto follow on milk too once she's finished the two boxes of milk downstairs. The hungry milk might just be filling her up too much, which was great when she was younger and that's all she had but if she's eating solids the way she does she maybe doesn't need the hungrier milk.

Oh god she's just woken with a bang, what injury has occured now........

MumtoCharlotteMay · 22/01/2008 17:44

Another red mark appearing on her head as we speak. Pulling herself onto her feet means she's cracking her head constantly. People will start thinking I'm beating my child at this rate!

juliewoolie · 22/01/2008 19:12

Had a mass clearout and was going to post stuff on the forsale section only to see there is a gigantic kerfuffle going on over there. Honestly its handbags at dawn. Well actually more like bitchy 14yr olds all slagging each other off. grrrr

Looks like I will be spending hours on ebay listing instead.

Glad you are feeling better AM.

AprilMeadow · 22/01/2008 20:58

just been reading those for sale threads. so sad but had to chuckle at a few of the posts!

scootermum · 22/01/2008 21:15

Hey all..
pmsl laughing at your blue line largegandt..you are funny..

My Dad gave me a very short 'military haircut'when I was 4..he thought it looked very 'smart' (he was in the paras at the time)It was the only time I saw My Mother cry..

Are your sure you oughtn't to go the Drs AM?To be on the safe side?

Glad to hear Cam is ok..Im coming with you to visit her largegandt..not arf..

Hey Tam!Im back to work too in 4 weeks or so and Im DREADING it!I have to go in tomorrow to discuss arrangements..(although they didnt do that last time so am really hoping to be made redundant!)Either that or they have found out how much I used the interweb before I went off on maternity leave and want to give me a warning or something!

'ere Pebble..one night why dont you just go the the pub and leave him with the nippers and see what DH says then?!

Go on the news SKY!Go on..

Sod the markets Julie..I want someone to make jam with!

Well I had Lilys B and B group here yesterday which was carnage..one of the kids projectile vomited everywhere and then one of the Mums as the sick smelt horrid (Sorry this is gross!)Becuase I still have my shag pile carpet (grim)it has been nigh on impossible to stop it smelling..I have used a bottle of Febreeze already!

At toddlers group today Lily was so unspeakable that I had to sit her in a corner till she said sorry to Mae for hitting her...and sorry to the group leader for tipping PVA glue over her shoes ..she will end up with an ASBO at this rate!Since then she has been very kissy kissy and saying 'luv you Mummy'every 5 minutes..and has tried to be generally cute..she thinks im a mug!(I am!)

Off for Lilys two year check tomorrow at the hideous time of 9am..then into London town to meet my boss..it will be like a days work and it been a long time since I did one of them!I will be knackered!

juliewoolie · 22/01/2008 21:27

oh how I love your analogies scoot.

anneme · 22/01/2008 21:45

Don't worry about going back to work... I'm quite enjoying it....
AM you poor thing - that happened to DH when he had a tummy bug before Xmas - was your DH OK? I just ask because it really scared me. My FIL, who is a DR and was there, lifted DH's legs up on the loo (which was actually quite funny because he was stark bollock naked - haven't reminded him about that bit) The only other thing he suggested was that if DH got a tummy bug again he should wear support stockings to help circulation - DH not amused but it might be worth you remembering that AM.
Hooray re Cam - I was going to say to you all to remember that it always sounds worse in the media than it really is.

S waking 4-6ish. The last couple of nights it has been because he has rolled onto his front and got stuck! He is often up for a feed then so I have to get DH to go and settle him because if I go he expects some boob!!! I knew it was worth bfing for a while longer - good excuse not to get up!!!

PS hooray re scans you mad lot of preg ladies - I am so impressed (and just a smidgeon jealous)

anneme · 22/01/2008 21:46

PPS - it was DH who was naked not FiL - that would be way too scary!

mom2latinoboys · 23/01/2008 01:15

Speaking of haircuts DH wants to shave DS1's head. Dh is in a phase that he has to shave his head all the time, and now he wants his son to look just like him [horrified emoticon]

largeginandtonic · 23/01/2008 08:22

Latinomom nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

DONT LET HIM

Scoot good luck today my lovely.

AM hope you still feel ok. Ella is diddy like Beau, must get him weighed.

Julie go on, you and Scoot could join the WI I have been looking for our local group here

You missed her jabs again pmsl...

I am feeling a notch better and really must get Hugo out today so off to toddlers i go this morning.

cinnamontam · 23/01/2008 09:58

Don't shave the head!!! Let the hair grow freeeeeeee

Scoot - good luck today. Let us know what the boss says. Nice big fat redundancy could be rather handy. Hope the shag pilenb 9i76y8u

AM - hope you are feeling ok you poor love. Nasty nasty stuff. I hate vomitting with a passion.

Anneme - keep telling me you are enjoying work and it might take some of the panic away.

Feeling very sad Heath Ledger died He's from my home town in Oz and my brothers went to school with him so they are feeling very sad.

twelveyeargap · 23/01/2008 10:16

I wake A in the morning, if she's not awake by 7.30. Generally she's like an alarm clock and wakes almost exactly at 7am. If she's not up by 7.30 it puts her off her stride for the day, messes up her naps, eating, everything.

I think it's acceptable to wake a sleeping baby, only in order to keep naps and bedtime regular. So I also wake her if she sleeps longer than 2 hours in the morning as otherwise her lunchtime nap goes off and she's a bag of rats in the afternoon. She's a slave to routine (not through my trying, but that's what suits her) and I wish I'd realised that much earlier on.

Got to go and get her now and get ready to go to the hospital for my scan.

I've been watching those sodding "Wanted Down Under" programmes (along with trips to Aus and DH having family there) and I want to emigrate now. I don't feel like I have any real family ties here so moving abroad wouldn't be a wrench for me. Wonder if stockbroking is a reserved occupation for a visa... Doubt it! They probably want to push the likes of DH into the sea.

twelveyeargap · 23/01/2008 10:18

Oh, LG&T - I decided the bounty cake was too good for the toddler group and I made marble cake instead and was disappointed. Marble cake not very interesting is it? Mind you, I was chuffed when I was in the kitchen and someone said, "Ooh, lovely cake. You know I think one of the organisers makes these herself. The lemon drizzle last week was fab too." Maybe I'll do a bounty cake and do half for toddlers and half for DH to take to work.

cinnamontam · 23/01/2008 10:36

Sleeps longer than 2 hours.... sigh...heaven!

cinnamontam · 23/01/2008 10:37

TYG - you are a woman in the know. Can I give Tilda vitamin C or cod liver oil? She has another cold and I want to give her something to help fight them off. Ta muchly xx
