Well done Ella! Looks like she may have cracked it now AM. It's amazing what a difference a full night's slepp makes isn't it? My little angel woke up at 5.30 this morning!! We brought her in with us so she didn't wake C and she didn't fall back to sleep until 6.30. She was giggling, cooing, poking us with her freezing cold hands and pulling my hair for an hour - blissful way to spend a Sunday morning!! Not up to much today, just house work and marking. C has another party today at Virgin - soft play and Planet Paint whatever that is. Sounds messy! The problem is it's 5-7 and he'll be knackered by then. I've got to try and get him to have a sleep this afternoon so he's ready for it. Weird time for a 3 year olds party I thought.
AM we're going to have to sort carseats soon. She looks dead squashed in the one she's got. I'm hoping to move her into C's Britax Eclipse and buy him a new one. I'm not sure what's available at 3 that will last. Will have to look into it.

AprilMeadow · 13/01/2008 13:00

Abby we have this one for ds who is 2.9yrs

largeginandtonic · 13/01/2008 14:43

Hello all, am very of all the pregnancy talk but not so much the getting bigger again. I have lost another load of weight (i always do at 6 months and when i stop bf) but am still half a stone off my normal 10stone. I was 9 st when i met dh but that is as small as i have ever been and it was because i had not really eaten at all for a month with all the exp crap at the time.

I would really like to lose another half a stone so i can fit in all my smaller maternity clothes and not go straight in to the biffa size. I am not holding out much hope though, they built a Krispy Kreme shop waaaay to close

AM that maxi cosi seat sounds good, i have the maxi cosi priori for one of mine and i also have the Mammas and pappas pro tech as that is the one that scored the highest on all the Which Reports. The isofix ones were the highest scoring though but we didnt have isofix car.

Beau is on his knees [help emotion]

AprilMeadow · 13/01/2008 17:32

Well i didnt get the Maxi-Cosi in the end as i really need a forward facing seat for Friday all the stores i called/went to didnt have any in stock, so instead i have gone for the bebe confort Axiss. I tried Ella in it and she looked so grown up. It also has the head hugger bits so will keep her head supported. Had to order that on line so fingers crossed it should be here on Tuesday - when i wont be as i will be at work

Well done on shifting some more weight, i have managed to gain 3lbs which is not so good, luckily at work we arent close to any shops so wont be able to nip and get naughty things to munch on.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 13/01/2008 18:22

Evening all.....

not too much to say apart from:

Cluck, cluck and Wooo Hooo (ish) for AF and lots for the weight loss well done. I am in and on going life battle with mine, but thats another story!! I want to be dh, skinny ba**d eat what he likes person.

AM, 12hrs see it is possible

Waves to all

Oh and M22LB, you are not a crap mum for giving jars. Ask Jorja, she reckons they are gourmet compared to my cooking. I'm not so bothered about the jar it's the price. They are sooooooooo expensive! I had to borrow money from the childrens Christmas money this week for shopping. We are soooooo skint!

anneme · 13/01/2008 20:55

Scary moment - S has almost worked out how to crawl (not quite - he keeps falling flat on his face and flailing around like a fish out of water) I give him till the end of the week. Oh well, it has been peaceful whilst it has lasted.

Bensonbluebird · 13/01/2008 21:31

LG&T - we had chickens when I were a lass and they are great. We always kept a cockerel in with the hens to keep then laying , especially in winter when there isn't much light. Looking forward to hearing chicken keeping stories.

A slept through for the first time last time. Great, except that he woke at 5 and then that was it for the day. Oh well.

MumtoCharlotteMay · 14/01/2008 01:29

Just popping in before I go to bed

Have been manically ebaying all weekend, massive clearout after Christmas! Have already made a couple of hundred pounds which I'm very pleased with. It should cover her new pushchair and a carseat at least. Have got rid of my Presto pushchair, C's 3-6 month clothes, one of her playgyms, her bouncer, the last of my maternity clothes and some old clothes I no longer wanted. Still have her huge bundle of 0-3 month clothes, one of her playmats, her baby bath and bath seat, 2 baby slings and a few other bits of mine that I need to sort out to go. I'm frickin knackered lol.

Then I've got to get her a new carseat as the length of my child is just not real. Her legs are all squashed up in her rear facing carseat. That's what you get when you're 5'2 and her daddy's 6'2! Which means I'll then have to get rid of her Silvercross carseat. I've not left the computer all weekend and my eyes feel like they're about to fall out, not to mention the back pain I'm experiencing.

Has everybodys dc's got at least a tooth now, because C still doesn't have any? All the signs are there telling me she is teething, but she's been like it for months and still nothing. Her crawling is driving me nuts, nothing is safe - the poor dog! She's also now pulling herself up onto her feet without any problems. When I say no problems I'm not referring to the 95th heart attack she nearly gave me for whatever dangerous stunt she dicided to do next.

On the food front, C also has jars. I give her the Hipp organic ones, and they are mightily expensive. She's a good eater but like others, has days where she eats less than her normal ammount. She also has days where she flat out refuses any food and just wants milk. Demanding? My child? Nooooooo! I also give her lots of finger foods to try, not much goes down but she gets the taste of them. I've given her banana, apple, grapes, oranges, strawberrys, potato (mashed with lumps), carrot sticks, cucumber etc. I also get her baby rice cakes and biscotti (sp?) biscuits to munch on, during the day between feeds.

Oh and I'm very happy to report that the detox is going very well, I've lost half a stone in a week! Now need to decide if I'm aiming to loose another 1 and a half to get me down to pre pregnancy weight, or 2 stone to pre ex fella weight (size 8 I don't even think I know what that size is anymore!!!). I'll go with the former and hope for the best lol. Congrats to LG&T too.

Right I'm off to bed, I'll try to catch up tomorrow. Have baby music in the morning, then going for lunch with a mum from the group. Hope all had good weekends x

AprilMeadow · 14/01/2008 09:47

Hi M2CM, no teeth here as yet although we also have all the signs. Surely cant be too much longer as i think i can see it coming (top right tooth).

Dh is officially at work today in the office and as of 1.30 this afternoon i will no longer be on maternity leave

After preparing myself for going back i dont actually want to go > feeling kinda nervous as so much has changed since i have been off.

oooh almost forgot the most important thing of the day....... Ella slept through AGAIN so thats 4 nights........ do you think its too early to say 'I think she has cracked it'. Just ds to work on now not holding my breath on that though.

largeginandtonic · 14/01/2008 09:58

Poor you Am, going back to work when you really dont want to. I'm sure it will all be ok, how nice to be able to go for a wee by yourself! Sure there are other benefits too

No teeth here yet either, endlessly teething though

He is trying to crawl...

juliewoolie · 14/01/2008 10:05

With you all on the endless teething A has 2 coming through but they seem to have got stuck.

Think A might skip the crawling or he may have invented his own version has taken to getting up on all fours as if he is about to crawl and then sort of stands up! God help us,

Hope all goes well at work AM another plus for you no snot or dribble all over your face and clothes.

AprilMeadow · 14/01/2008 10:40

Crawling Arrggghhhhhhhhh!!

I know i will be fine once i am there its just weird know that i have to get dressed before midday and cant spell all day on MN or shopping or meeting friends. BUT i can indeed go for a wee and eat my lunch without getting indegestion and on the days when i get home early pm i can sit in the house in the peace and quiet knowing that i dont have to pick the kids up until 5.45

AprilMeadow · 14/01/2008 10:42

wrote that ages ago but forgot to press post!

Well done to A as well on the movement front. How're you feeling JW?

mom2latinoboys · 14/01/2008 13:48

Hi all! on the teeth front Cruz currently has two and I can feel three more trying to pop through. Everyone in our house is sick right now. And unfortunately it is coming after me. Dh has been sick for a week and the kids are now getting sick, but I am trying to avoid this like the plague. Oh well. Ask me if I want to go to work today, because I don't want to.
LG&T, we had chickens when I was little however, over night they were gone and all we saw was a pile of feathers. So no need to guess what happened to them.
My mom is leaving for China tomorrow, she will be there for a month working with orphans. I don't know what I'll do without her. We talk everyday. I can't imagine a day without speaking to her.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 14/01/2008 15:45

Hope work was OK in the end AM.

No teeth for Jorja, infact no signs of teething either. I'm sure they'll come when ready, they are safe in the gums too. She is also trying to crawl, has got the knee action to a fine art, takes 3 forward movements with her knees which promptly end up just behind her hands and then falls flat on her nose as she hasn't worked out to move her hands forward. Shouldn't laugh but it's quite amusing. She can very nearly sit back up from being on her tummy, just hasn't quite mastered the last push with her hands.

Well done S and B on their attempts to cause havoc get on the move.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 14/01/2008 16:57

What a fab thing for your Mom to be doing M22LB. I hope you get to speak to her as much as possible.

AprilMeadow · 14/01/2008 19:43

I survived

Wasnt too bad as i have a little project to work on and its quite fun and it does involve a SPREADSHEET

juliewoolie · 14/01/2008 20:54

Well done - thank god for spreadsheets.

M22LB your mum is a bit of a jestsetter but what a cool thing to do.

My DP with all his good intentions is a bit of a numpty. He has been adding a fibre supplement to drinks he makes for me (get a bit bunged during pregnancy) only found out tonight and of course shouldnt be used while pregnant - GAH.

A bless his cottons is a little bunged too must be a family trait I gave him prune juice at breakfast boy did it do the job. Is anyone elses little ones like this since starting solids?

Just had awful news from my best friend in New York they own a house which has tennents living on 2nd floor the tennents came home from hospital with their Newborn on Saturday eve on Sunday morn the paramedics were called the baby had died from cot death My poor friend is 6mth pregnant herself and is in a terrible way.

StarlightStarbrightSKYTVtonite · 14/01/2008 21:44

Your poor friend JW. What a horrible thing to happen.

C was a bit bunged up for a while but it sorted itself out eventually.

Well done on the going back to work AM. I am going back a week on Thursday and am absolutely dreading it.

We have no teeth either but all the signs.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 14/01/2008 21:47

Oh JW what a devestating thing to happen. Did she know them well?

SKYTVADDICT · 14/01/2008 21:48

Dohh!!! I've just realised I hadn't changed from my xmas name!!

I've been a little sad today as I have stopped b/f completely. We were down to one feed a day first thing in the morning but today I decided to stop. I didn't think he was getting much but my boobs are quite sore tonight.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 14/01/2008 21:49

Not sure what I meant then. Sorry, I think I meant does she know them well, are they friends that they socialise with. Gosh it's going to be tough for all of them. Poor loves.

Pebblemum · 14/01/2008 21:55

How horrible Julie, those poor people

Alana is definately determined to be walking soon. She can now move along the sofa with ease and letting go with one hand while she does it. The look on her face as she does it is so funny and then when she sits back down she claps herself I think my little girl is going to be a show off lol. We have also found a new game, i have to hold her while she stands and then carefully let go, of course she wobbles and almost falls but then i grab her again, she thinks its hilarious.

Dh went out and bought a WII yesterday (bloody £330 worth)we set it up round MIL's and now she is going halves with SIL on one lol. Amazingly enough poor J was sent home from school this morning, they said he felt ill, but whatever it was miracously got better once he was at home. Im sure he thinks we are stupid, it was obvious he thought he could come home and play on it. As it was I printed out some workdsheets from the internet and gave him them to do instead (am i cruel or what lol)

Glad work went ok AM

Hope you sell lots of things M2CM, ive got lots to sell too but luckily a girl i know has just found out that her baby, due in 6wks is a girl so im hoping she will be interested in some of it.

TYG cant believe you are 12wks already, it seems to have gone so quick, not like last time when it seemed to take forever for us all to get to that. Guess having active babies helps time go quicker

Im off now to sneak a play of the WII without the kids getting in the way lol (whats the bet Alana wakes up just as i get going )

Pebblemum · 14/01/2008 22:00

Doh. meant to say well done to Ella on sleeping through. Alana has decided to wake up at around 3am for the last couple of nights, she goes back off after a while and isnt crying, she just stares at me and laughs, but after that its me who has trouble going back to sleep. Next minute the alarms going off and im absolutely knackered. Guess she was so good at sleeping through from the start that I deserve a few disturbed nights just hope it doesnt keep up, im not used to it lol

juliewoolie · 14/01/2008 22:06

just to say hello to MrsJB but my friend and her husband own the property so it makes them feel doubly awful that it happened in their home so to speak and being pregnant as well it has really shocked her to the core.
