daisy I but loads of stuff from boden because I like it and it is well made and lasts for ages so i don't care what that makes me what it does do is make me happy

andiemisletoe · 14/12/2007 14:06

sorry buy

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 14/12/2007 14:15

I am so happy!!!

After an hour of trying to get DD to nap this morning, with NO success, despite her being tired and rubbing eyes, and me having taken her up as soon as I saw that and settled her down and followed all the advice, we just tried again. My attempts as creating a calming mood obviously worked, as I was leaning over the edge of cot, eyes closed, half asleep myself. I kept one hand on her tummy, with the little finger of other hand in her mouth (finger sucking is the easiest way to sooth her) and after 10 mins of her kicking and thrashing her head around (while still rubbing her eyes) she calmed down. After another couple of mins I withdrew contact. She kept half opening an eye to check if i was there, so I just sat there until 5 mins after the last eye opening and left, very, very carefully. I waited outside the room for a minute, then came downstairs and am now deciding whether to rest or tidy up.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 14/12/2007 14:16

Not convinced yet that this will work again, mind, but i live in hope.

andiemisletoe · 14/12/2007 14:16

rest rest rest jammy and scoff chocolate hee hee

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 14/12/2007 14:24

Brill jammy - make the most of the time, have a nice cup of tea and a rest!

DH's preciousness has just passed over to the realms of annoying: he asked me to tumble DD's clothes instead of hanging them on the clothes horse so they are softer for her Daddy's girl or what!

nice camera holly! and nice coat too! I'm too tight even for the boden sale!

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 14/12/2007 14:29

Fingers crossed she stays asleep for a while jammy!

ROFL bumper! I am too tight to tumble dry, I only do it as a last resort. I don't care if my dcs have stiff clothes (I am mean)!

Dp is on holiday today, but since we got back from the shops he has been on his work phone ! Can't he just switch the fecking thing off? When I want him to be at work he is hanging around the house or playing golf and when I want him to spend time with me he is doing work! Twunt! (I can't slag him off too much though, he has just bought me 2 lovely pressies!)

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 14/12/2007 14:32

lol andiem

have placed my order, the coat and bag (my mouse finger slipped guv, honest ...and also this for DD in pink spots. Not in the sale but the GPs are buying it for her for Christmas (although they can't guarantee Christmas delivery ). Tis a bit bright, but hey ho it'll cheer up the dark dreary winter days.

I'm worried I'll now be addicted to boden, and whether I'll need to go back to work to maintain my habit

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 14/12/2007 14:35

lol at your dh bumper!

dd has just had a 20 minute nap which isn't long enough and she is now very cranky and upset and won't stop crying. She is really bunged up today, so am off to administer calpol and snufflebabe

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 14/12/2007 14:35

I try not to look on the Boden site too often daisy! Which coat did you get? The cord one? The snowsuit is gorgeous! There is literally nothing in my dd's size at all. I want my coat for christmas, but I know that it will be pushing it a bit(8-10 working days). I hope it arrives in time!

andiemisletoe · 14/12/2007 14:41

ooh ooh I have snowsuit for ds brown one with stars obviously not pink one I am such a boden addict but try to buy only in the sale

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 14/12/2007 14:57

OMG I love that snowsuit!

Fury, after steering clear of the outdoorsy shops in swindon, and after realising I am knackering my feet with bad shoes I am finding myself drawn to these...very unlike me but I am walking around with the buba lots and need some comfy boots. Ok you shoppers, any other ideas? I want some boots that look kinda nice, will go with jeans, perhaps a casual skirt but that won't kill me if I go thundering around in them.

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 14/12/2007 14:58

Knee or calf length (and not too expensive!)

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 14/12/2007 14:58

is it a nice snowsuit? some of the ones I've seen on the high street are a bit thin.

I've arranged delivery to my sisters as we'll be up there from next Saturday for two weeks.

and I ordered the dark brown cord coat and the dark tan leather bag. My new boots are brown, so I needed a matching bag...

DH will be livid, but hey ho, tis cheaper than a diamond trilogy ring

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 14/12/2007 15:08

Those boots look good Bumper

Well, I should've listened to you guys. After doing an apologetic email to my head of dept (tiredness made me a bit cranky with her at our work lunch yesterday, and while she was very understanding I wanted to let her know that I don't expect to be let off unprofessional behaviour in the future) I started to tidy up, and made a clunk which woke DD up. Still she'd slept for an hour, which is much longer than normal. But I did get some tidying done, and made it easier to finish later (she's feeding now, then I shall make her sit and watch mummy work - as long as I bend over now and then so she can checkle at my fat behind, should be OK)

My DH sways between Stern Dad - was most disgruntled about having to stop again because she did a poo 5 mins after leaving motorway services - and Soft Dad - should we check she's OK and not really drowning in her own vomit rather than blowing raspberries like we assume she is?

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 14/12/2007 15:09

For Bumper

budget

bargain if you are a size 7

What about uggs bumper? I have some and tbh I don't know how I lived without them! Those snowboots are cute, I have some similar ones from Diesel, but I got them for my 18th birthday and they have seen better days!!.

Daisy, can't you play the "Oh, this old thing, I've had this for agggges" card with dh? He need never know!

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 14/12/2007 15:14

oops, left dd on the floor in the other room for 10 mins and could hear her chuntering away happily. When i went through to check on her, she'd rolled over to the tv, pulled all the various cables for tv, video, surround sound speakers etc and was tangled in them with some round her neck

OP posts:
TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 14/12/2007 15:18

i'd sort of mentioned the bag already, and as he was responsible for packing my bag collection away in the attic when we decorated, he knows exactly what i do aND DON'T HAVE. (oops, sorry)

I'm going to sell some off after Christmas though

dd still grumpy...maybe cos I picked her off the floor.

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 14/12/2007 15:21

Don't worry daisy, my ds has a wire fetish! Every time I turn around he has crawled into the corner and has a wire in his mouth!

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 14/12/2007 15:31

thanks daisy! sounds like DD is going to be trouble

holly are uggs waterproof?

jammy what exactly did you do to your boss? i think baby induced sleep deprivation excuses anything!

annobalthebignosereindeer · 14/12/2007 15:33

Bumper, I bought these and a friend of mine has these. They are soooo comfy and look great with jeans (over or under) or skirts. Off ot catch up on the rest.

annobalthebignosereindeer · 14/12/2007 15:39

DS not moving at all (ie crawling) and has had a total of 20 mins sleep today. He is now in bed chattering to himself - I need to remind myself to wake him up at 4.30...

Jammy what did you do to your boss?

Good site Daisy - just what I need, another pair of boots

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 14/12/2007 15:53

I asked her if a questionnaire we are all filling in to get our jobs evaluated could be late in my case as I'm on leave and all my time is taken with DD. HR had implied I HAD to complete on same timescale as everyone else. She started off telling me I ought to do it, and I'm afraid I nearly screamed "Noooooooooo" at her. I did raise my voice rather to tell her I thought it was highly unfair and that I'd gone to beg her to see reason so wanted her to at least hear me out. I said that in my application to work part time they'd been insistant that I could not work and be responsible for childcare at the same time, so how was I meant to complete this questionnaire? I also told her was fed up with how I've been treated while on leave - pay always wrong, never told anything about developments on this job evaluation, pay rises etc, and it wasn't enticing me to think it was great place to come back to.

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 14/12/2007 15:59

that doesn't sound too unreasonable jammy.

annobal, the boots didn't come up - what styles were you talking about?
