fury, sorry to hear about your foster brothers' sister. must be hard on your mum too.

are you seriously thinking about rehoming the dog? It'll probably be for the best for you and the dog. and think of the money you will save. hope you have a relaxing weekend.

morning everyone else too. hope you all have exciting things planned.

I've got MIL coming over in about an hour, better do some tidying up! Poor DD was up all night coughing

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 15/12/2007 09:26

trace, really sorry chloe is poorly again How is she doing?

BadZelda · 15/12/2007 09:33

Hey bumper - have you tried liquorice tea? Both my DDs had nasty coughs, and they've almost gone now - were better almost immediately after the tea.
Trace sorry to hear about Chloe...she sounds like a little fighter, but you must be so worried...thinking of you.

Morning everyone else
zx

BadZelda · 15/12/2007 09:41

OH MY GOD: TWO of the people on the May PN thread are already expecting again. That's quite scary!

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 15/12/2007 10:07

Oh Fury....that's so ......I'm really sorry but do you mind if we postpone Monday? DD is still pretty poorly and I suspect she may need a doctors appt on Monday for some ABs. She is VERY chesty today and a little wheezy....I'm just keeping my eyes on her atm....it was only last Sat we were at emergency docs for the D&V....becoming regulars!! Sorry to let you down....

Whys the dog got to go? Is he playing up with DS?

Bumper / Trace....hope DDs get better soon.....we're a right ole bunch atm aren't we with ill DC's....I woke up with a snuffle and headache this morning

HellHathNoFury · 15/12/2007 10:23

Hey Norty.. it's ok, DS is still a bit rough too and I am ill now too! It's no problem. It would be a stressful day anyway.

The dog is very jealous of DS and is engaging in very rough play with him, including teeth. That amongst (many) other things means he has to go

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 15/12/2007 10:27

Oh I'm so sorry......what a shame ...will his breeder take him back?

We are very lucky that our dog loves DD...especially now she chucks bits of toast at him .....I'd be heartbroken in your situation....but DCs come first always!

Sorry about Monday....We WILL manage it one day.....

Right off to clean my house and put the Christmas tree up!

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 15/12/2007 10:54

Norty, your poor DD is in the wars.

Fury, you feeling poorly now too? Me too anyone would think that we were spreading germs over the internet...maybe its a computer virus - BOOM BOOM!

Zelda did you give liquorice tea to the littlest one?

HellHathNoFury · 15/12/2007 11:10

can anyone recommend a good travel cot? I have a cheap Hauck from Argos and it's shite.

andiemisletoe · 15/12/2007 12:37

daisy so sorry to see about your mum take care will be thinking of you

fury I have a graco one which is very good john lewis have a good selection here

hi to everyone else especially the poorly ones

off to have lunch and put up tree

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 15/12/2007 15:22

Hi everyone. Sorry to hear about your foster brothers' and your Mum, Fury. That must be particularly awful for them being so close to christmas. Also about your dog but as you say, DS has to come first.

We've just been to Kew gardens for the morning. It was lovely - they have a snow dome - it 'snows' foam and DD thought it was fantastic and spent the whole time trowing it at DH . DH has now gone to buy my chrissie present, both DCs are in bed and I'm sitting eating chocolate. House is a shit-hole though so should probably use the opportunity to do some tidying.

BTW, I have a graco trave cot as well which is good. Mamas and Papas ones are also pretty good, but I don't think any travel cot is very comfy because of the design and very thin mattress. We do have an extra mattress for it, from Mothercare, which makes it less hard for lo. Well, it's called a mattress but it's more like a thick duvet that goes under the sheet and makes it a bit softer to lie on. here

HellHathNoFury · 15/12/2007 15:31

thanks fairy
to be fair thre is nothing 'wrong' with the hauck one, it's just the base isn't very flat and he looks very uncomfortable. Also he is a long baby and doesn't look far from being too big for it!

Kiddicare do lots of mattresses which I am thinking about - or might get a bigger, better cot.

The dog is now advertised
I love him to bits but oh my god he's hard work, it's so sad.

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 15/12/2007 15:38

I'm sure it's hard letting him go Fury, but you are doing the right thing. Just imagine if something happened to DS. Also, with everything else that you are dealing with, not having to look after him too will hopefully maeke things a little bit easier.

BTW, have you been to that posh dinner yet? If so, how was it?????

BadZelda · 15/12/2007 16:15

Hi all,

Hope you're well today and poorly ones are feeling a bit better. bumper I did give Matilda the tea - just an ounce or so of warm tea in a bottle. Really helped her cough - the hoarseness went out of it immediately and she's been on the mend since. I took them both to the doctor a couple of weeks ago, and he didn't have any ideas, so I googled it, and it worked a treat. No ill effects that I can see, and they both liked the taste as it's naturally sweet.

Fury, sorry to hear about your dog...you must be sad as I know you spent a lot of time with him before LO arrived. Still as others have said, S comes first; sounds like you're doing the right thing.

Well a productive Saturday - laundry done, folded, tree sourced and decorated, SS parcel sent and all my presents are wrapped!

HellHathNoFury · 15/12/2007 16:34

the posh dinner is on the 21st! Got the shoes and dress - need a clutch/bag and hoping I can make do with a tatty cost lol!

Yes the dog is lovely but he is just too boisterous with LO. He also went on a bender today, ripped open all the bins and ate a whole mouldy broccoli. He kept us up half the night with barking as well. I love him to bits but my lack of time spent keeping him occupied lately has sent him into a bored crazy beast.

I want to try and find him a home first, if not I will see about taking him back to the breeder.

oops, my mum tried some industrial strength remover on a little pink patch of carpet where some colour ran on to it, only I don't think it was meant for carpets as the small pink stain has become a fuck-off yellow stain, we are all laughing, the poufe hides it well

HellHathNoFury · 15/12/2007 16:35

cost? COAT

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 15/12/2007 19:11

It's gutting about the dog fury, but sounds like it's what's best.

I just picked up my car from outside the garage - £250!!!!! Fuckity fuck fuck fuck. Just the recipe for a happy Christmas

Kew sounds lovely Fairy. I must admit I do sometimes envy you lot living in the city. There is no way we could ever afford it though. But there is so much to do. There's bog all round here, especially not for free. if you've seen one Cotswold village you've seen them all!

BadZelda · 15/12/2007 20:40

OUCH bumper, that's got to hurt right now! Well living in inner London with a DH that grew up on a farm in the middle of nowhere, we often have urban vs. rural discussions. Still like living where we do though...not to everyone's taste of course as I discovered when suggesting brixton as a nice place to live on this thread!

justbeme · 15/12/2007 21:34

Fury - I cant believe your bad luck..... You must feel so torn - lets hope you can rehome your dog with an adult who can give him loads of time - seems like he needs it - and you are doing the best by him.
And your poor Mum - are the boys still there? Have they/he apologised?

Bumper - I hate paying garage bills - what a pain.

OMG - come on - own up - who's preggars on this thread then?? Those 2 girls in May will have 12 or 13 mths difference??

Sending hugs and wishes to Trace and Daisy and anybody else that needs it

oh and Ive woken up with another cold today.....that computer virus definately is catching!

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 16/12/2007 07:34

Thankfully not too much to catch up after a dat away from cyberspace. Sorry about your foster brothers' sister, and also about the dog Fury. Sounds like it will be best for you and the dog though. Am of visit to Kew. Have been once in summer and loved it. Would love to go in winter, especially on a really frosty day.

DH's work Xmas do last night. Had more drinkies (4) in one evening than I have since before pregnancy. Not too drunk though, just a little lightheaded by the end. Was perfectly able to tend to DD at midnight, just as we were going to bed, and again at 4, so that's OK. And she was kind enough to let us sleep until nearly 7, which helped. Was a good night out, and lovely to dress up a bit and feel like a couple with DH instead of feeling like parents. The feeling of freedom was mixed though with a slight anxiety - not concern for DD, I knew she'd be OK whatever, but more concern that my poor parents might be being driven to despair by a crying baby. Thankfully all was well though.

BadZelda · 16/12/2007 09:43

I'm glad to hear it went well Jammy.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 16/12/2007 11:14

OMG! Parents have just left, and the mound of gifts they have left behind (from them, my sister and her family) is ENORMOUS! (Bet all the good stuff is for DD though )

BadZelda · 16/12/2007 12:04

How exciting - guess you can't wait to open them.
