DH says forecast is for snow? I don't believe him... checking now

FlameNFurter · 31/12/2007 18:47

he wasn't!!!

That'll give us oodles more activities and if the train home is cancelled you'd be forced to stay

Is there anything DS1 doesn't eat? I'm thinking veg stew/soup thing in slow cooker with chunky bread n butter

DontDreamItBeIt · 31/12/2007 19:21

I'm in with he kids. DP has just gone out. He says he will be back before midnight, but I seriously doubt it

CantSleighWontSleigh · 31/12/2007 19:54

mrm - you should be grateful he has a new word .

lol at 'is there anything ds1 doesn't eat'. Should be 'is there anything that ds1 does eat', to which the answer is sausages and chocolate .

Frizbe · 31/12/2007 21:18

Happy New Year! about to stuff all the kids in bed, may not be back on before midnight, so have a good one girls! and MR CSWS of course

EachPeachPearMum · 31/12/2007 21:37

Well, dd is sleeping soundly- thankfully bedtime was well before fireworks started- for some reason they have been going off since around 8 Obviously celebrating New Year elsewhere in the world...

Yes csws, I do appreciate how lucky we are on the sleep front, though I had to do some MAJOR sleep training with her when she was younger, and lots of re-inforcement. What we'll do when she starts school in september, I don't know! Can't imagine how she's going to cope with getting up at 7 every morning

'Tis my wedding anniversary today! DH picked the wedding date so that he wouldn't forget when our anniversary was...so can you guess what time I had to actually remind him it was our anniversary? Admittedly he had actually realised it was New Year's Eve...

At least it gives me the excuse to open the champagne early

DontDreamItBeIt · 31/12/2007 21:45

Happy anniversary EPPM

Kids are in bed. DDs want to stay up, but mean mummy said no. They are allowed to wach dvds in their room instead though.

CantSleighWontSleigh · 31/12/2007 21:56

Happy Anniversary EPPM. You've just reminded me that I forgot to wish another friend a happy anniversary yesterday!

So are we all having a pretty normal night in then?

FlameNFurter · 31/12/2007 22:00

Very normal - I am watching Prison Break in one room, DH is battling the Alliance in another.

Our NYE tend to be a catalogue of disasters if we actually attempt celebrating, so now we have decided not to!

EachPeachPearMum · 31/12/2007 22:04

We have had some AMAZING NYEs, but the ones that are low key can be lovely too!

People do get very stressed about having a very good NYE and it just means they don't enjoy themselves because they're too busy trying to enjoy themselves IYSWIM

FlameNFurter · 31/12/2007 22:08

Will write my list, hang on

It doesn't matter if we are trying or not... we are just doomed!

So far we have had: Millennium ? met one of DH?s old school friends and his mate who was a knob and spent the night insulting me ? Boy went and smashed his hand up in a bathroom mirror because he didn?t want to hit said knob and spoil the night, ended up in a club in Cardiff (not a good one, cold and miserable)

2nd one ? at Boy?s dad?s house ? just bored stiff and dull!

3rd? my friend?s house, very very dull

4th ? me n B were ill, we stayed with my mum whilst DH went out

5th ? unplanned ? we spent the night doing a game online and it was really nice!

6th ? again pregnant, really good night with friends round etc ? then Emrys (in bump form) decided that I had a pepper allergy, I ate a salsa dip and saw in the new year throwing up

last year ? planned to repeat the year before (sans pepper allergy) ? Boy had tonsillitis and I spent the night online talking to a friend who was on her due date (miscarried at 12 weeks)

1 good one out of 7... our odds suck

CantSleighWontSleigh · 31/12/2007 22:11

We are actually going to leave our computers for a bit, and cuddle up on the sofa with a Baileys and the tv .

DontDreamItBeIt · 31/12/2007 22:15

I have Baileys and a dvd.Might save the dvd and watch it with dp when (if) he gets back.

I haven't had a NYE out since 2000. I'm pretty sure dd2 was conceived on or around that night. Pre kids I always worked Chrismas Day and had New Year off, so I've had my share of good nights, .

DontDreamItBeIt · 31/12/2007 23:00

Where is everyone?

2boysmacca · 31/12/2007 23:06

Getting pissed?

DontDreamItBeIt · 31/12/2007 23:15

And what are you up to, non witchy one?

DontDreamItBeIt · 31/12/2007 23:21

How was ds' birthday?

CantSleighWontSleigh · 31/12/2007 23:34

Just a quickie to say happy new year to everyone. Am off to watch the final 2 greatest 80's movies, then off to bed.

DontDreamItBeIt · 31/12/2007 23:42

Good night.
i'm just finishin a game of scrabble, then I'm going o go to bed, too.

EachPeachPearMum · 01/01/2008 00:00

Happy New year!

EachPeachPearMum · 01/01/2008 00:02

It's like the Somme outside

2boysmacca · 01/01/2008 07:01

Happy New Year. Hope everyone had a lovely night

Ds's birthday was lovely, we took him to softplay then we played ps2 for a few hours

I missed the last 5 or so greatest 80's film csws, what were they?

I'm waiting for it it get light and then I'm going to have to go out for a run. Made a very lovely meal last night, but very fattening, and little too much wine, although not enough to give me a hangover.

Today will be spent studying if I can get dh to occupy the boys for me for a few hours.

CantSleighWontSleigh · 01/01/2008 08:47

Full list is supposed to be here macca, but they haven't updated it yet. No 1 was Back to the Future, 2 was Dirty Dancing, rest is a blur - poss Aliens at 4 and Airplane at 5.

Our new year was spent in dd's room trying to resettle her as she woke when we crept upstairs. Dh ended up spending half the night in there on and off, sleeping on the floor. Tell dh you really don't want to move ds2 to a bed yet mrm!

FlameNFurter · 01/01/2008 12:15

My DH is lovely. He woke me at 11.10am with bacon n brie sandwiches and a cup of tea. I feel human

MRM loves me i feel very honoured... but methinks she also loves Baileys.

mustmakeyouamanmore · 01/01/2008 13:53

I do love you of course. But I did also have 95% of that big bottle that csws bought me for xmas!

Nightmare getting the boys to sleep, but ds1 slept like a log till 7.30am Ds2, however, wkoe 3 times, then the 4th time I gave up and went to bed with him, as he'd only sleep o me I Think that was about 2amish. Dh then got up at 5.15am to go to work, so ds2 rolled over about 6am and because its a smaller bed than ours, he rolled off All I woke to was a big thud and a scvream. He's ok!

We played Guess The Intro and ate and drank and tried to text everyone in the world.

Been to the park this morninig, now home doing latkes for lunch, then I'm on a tidying spree! The boys wont see dh till Thursday morning, and ds1 will only see him for about 10 mins as we have to leave here very early for the SEASIDE!!!! Er, in the snow. Flame, I wouldnt bother doing anything except cheese butties or even just bread and butter for ds1; he's a pain in the neck. Or plain pasta. I'll eat anything veggie!
