no snow here!

mmmmm seaside.....

why do I have to live in the furthest bit of UK from any coastline? I miss the sea!

DontDreamItBeIt · 03/01/2008 16:19

How did they get on at the drs csws?
My neighbours ds has cp, so it is here as well.

Frizbe - they only advertise prices for full bathroom sets but most places you can buy just the bits youneed.

Can't remember what else I was going to say....back later.

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/01/2008 16:49

Saw one that dh hadn't met before, and he said she was useless! Wouldn't give him the stuff that is sometimes prescibed for adults (is apparently expensive), and gave nothing (not even advice!) for dd. Did confirm that it's ok to use piriton syrup and calpol though. Have just been out to buy an assortment of lotions and potions for them. Dd has had loads more come up today, and they are clearly itching her now .

As much as it's a pain in some ways, I'm glad that I can provide some comfort to her through bf.

Did you get a bath?

How are you feeling now Phoenix?

DontDreamItBeIt · 03/01/2008 17:16

No bath yet, but more plasterboard has been atached to the ceiling today.

@ useless gp, but good that you are still bf

DontDreamItBeIt · 03/01/2008 17:18

I spent all day trailing to and from school DD2s eczema is so bad that I had to take her to dr and get better cream for it.

Frizbe · 03/01/2008 17:18

oh your poor dd and dh CSWS or should we re name you Flo

Jas, tried that option, but can't find a sink in mushroom anywhere! so it'll be a whole suite in white I think (excuse for a new bathroom eventually, when I'm rich!)

Phoenix, sick hope its not the vomiting bug?

Snow, ya jammy git, still not snowing here has done in Derby though apparently?

Just checking in as late night at shop here for all of us, as we have a competition finale at the library for dh and the kids to go judge and do photos for paper, hand out prizes etc, (Games Workshop figure painting thing) so I'm manning the fort!

Frizbe · 03/01/2008 17:19

Jas x posts for the excema, must be the cold air setting us all off with it

FlorenceFarkingNightingale · 03/01/2008 17:22

What cream did/does she have?

FlorenceFarkingNightingale · 03/01/2008 17:23

And there's a reason you can't buy suites in mushroom you know Friz .

DontDreamItBeIt · 03/01/2008 17:34

I didn't realise you wanted a mushroom sink Frizbe!

DD has had various steroid creams, and got canestan today

Phoenix · 03/01/2008 17:47

for dd2's eczema Jas. Both my brothers had it bad when they were little and have mostly grown out of it now just get little bits sometimes.

for crap gp Flo

We had a champagne bathroom suite and couldn't get a new toilet in champagne so got a whole new white suite.

Not d and v bug Friz just a cold but don't feel like going to work with it. I woke up last night 3 times absolutely drip wet through. I've still got a cough which has now made my throat sore too

Ds is sat in his high chair paddying at the minute. Dh has done a corned beef hash and ds won't eat any of it so its gone in bin and now he's crying for some chocolate buttons which he aint having.

Phoenix · 03/01/2008 19:56

We've just been half an hour getting ds to bed. I'd got him layed down on our bed ready to force some medised down him , Dh passed me the bottle, i shook it, like you do, but the idiot didn't think to tell me he'd already taken the lid off and just rested it on top of the bottle, so of course when i shook it i ended up wearing most of the bloody stuff as did ds and our bed . So we had to get ds washed, changed and try get some medised down him. I prob got 5ml down him and 5ml dribbled round his neck after he spat it out.

FlorenceFarkingNightingale · 03/01/2008 21:30

PMSL. The monitor just clicked on and I thought 'oh no, is dd still not asleep', but then I realised that it is dh (who is in with her) snoring his head off! He'll end up waking her instead of getting her to sleep .

FlameNFurter · 03/01/2008 21:31

CSWS - the stuff for CP for adults is the same stuff that they gave DS for his oral herpes - remember the fighting that I tried the second time he got it, but they refused point blank

Day was loooooooooooovely. We didn't get to play on the beach for long because it turns out that my son feels the cold He was all layered etc, but he turned into a little blue shivering lump really quickly and we had to go!!!!

FlorenceFarkingNightingale · 03/01/2008 21:45

As long as mrm's ds1 got to see the sea!

Yes, I remember the hassle you had getting that prescription - grr. Ah well, he's not as moany as he usually is when he's ill, thank goodness.

dd awake and upset sounding.

TEUCHywithallthetrimmings · 03/01/2008 21:53

Hullo all and happy new year - I am so rubbish with keeping up but hope you all had a pleasant start to 2008!!

Brought the bells in with my family who came to visit and brought loadsa bugs (but not CP!!) so we have been the sleepy, croaky, phlegmy, coughing house for a few days...all gone home now and very quiet...

DH just made me come and look outside at the snow (we NEVER get snow...it is an island!) but there was nothing...apparently it is snowing outside the front door...

Better go and check!

Frizbe · 03/01/2008 23:28

Teuch, I wish it was even vaguely attempting to snow here, dd2 said 'no snow' in a sad voice as she went up the stairs to bed tonight for her, she's only seen it the once when I dragged her outside in (was it Nov?) when it snowed for a few hours! but it was gone in morning......

Now then CSWS don't get me started I don't actually want a mushroom sink Jas, BUT, it would be better than having to swap the whole suite However, was whittering about it to my dad on the phone earlier and he came out with that age old line that builders do of, Oh I've got a sink in the garage you can have upon questioning its a white one with a single mixer tap, which my mum decided a while ago she didn't want???? so they brought another sink, for the bathroom he's only just doing at the moment!! parents eh? So now I need a white toilet and new shower tray to match and I guess a new shower door, oh and stuff it a new shower unit as well! (in my nice shopping dream) Frizbe wakes up and finds herself eventually with a mis matched bathroom suite, but at least a sink that doesn't leak!

(Longest post award?)

Frizbe · 03/01/2008 23:29

Flame and MRM, for your lovely day, hugs to the cold boy!

Frizbe · 03/01/2008 23:34

and another thing, what's this thread hiding business then, and why is cod trying to hide flames business ad?

psychomum5 · 03/01/2008 23:37

quick hijack for flame.......[sorry]

am tryin to reply to you on MSN (even signed in so it would let me), and it keeps rejectin me, and my replies.

am blardy pissied off, but thouhgt I owuld say so you not thinkin me intentionally rude (as opposed to the times that I do mean it)!!!

thanks ladies.....will run away again!!!

mustmakeyouamanmore · 03/01/2008 23:53

Sorry, not really read properly, apart from mushroom sink and itchy family And, what thread hiding?

Just wanted to say how lovely Flame is Andhow nice MrFlame is, even if he's not a real pirate. I felt very at home!Oo, and they've got a lovely litle cupboard
Ds1 styed awake all the way home (in at 11.20pm) And went up to bed saying 'I love B and E'.How fickle he is.But he's a bit concrned that he left his cardboard flap behind. He also gave me his theory of the start of the planet and evolution on the way back. And ate 3 philly butties, 500ml of juice, goodie bar, and a portion of BK skanky chips! That was after having pasta at Flames
Ds2 woke 5 mins after we got in, and the only thing that would console him was putting him in ds1'sbed bcause he kept pointing at it So ds1 has had to go to bed in the cot with the side lowered!!

FlameNFurter · 04/01/2008 00:13

Twas lovely having you

See, I didn't click on that thread because I couldn't be arsed... now I'm intrigued and need to read it!

FlameNFurter · 04/01/2008 01:05

I was expecting bitching and was all excited - twas dull and about scuttlebuggers and not naming names

I assume she hides me for the same reason I hide the runners, the Christian prayers, and the villa to rent... they pop up every day and I have no interest in them.

FlorenceFarkingNightingale · 04/01/2008 09:28

I hope he doesn't love B&E more than he loves P!

Bad night here - dd really suffering now, and was crying for most of it, with little dozes in between. Thankfully (IYSWIM) one of her friends came down with it yesterday, so is coming to play this morning. Hoping that will distract dd from the pain/itching for a while.
