Thought it was about time we had a thread which didn't take hours to load though....

Well caught up with Wills on the other thread and feel so very bad for her. Sending you all my love Wills.

I guess everyone is feeling quite low judging by the lack of postings here but we can't let the thread sink. So just thought I'd tell everyone that DD2 has just got her first pair of wellies. They are a size 4 and her shoes are size 1 so she has to waddle and I put lots of socks on her. but she absolutely loves them. So this morning we are going to go and find some puddles (not that difficult round here at the mo but they have to be shallow enough

I'm not trying to be frivolous but I think we all need a bit of a smile. Hugs all round

Hi all, Sorry that I've not been around for ages but have been stunningly busy. Good news we finally have an offer on the second house - very low but we've accepted as we're desperate to shift it. Fingers crossed that it all goes through.

DH and I have been having a really tough time. He's so angry with the world and takes it out on me. I felt our relationship serious start to drift under the strain so handed the kids to my mil and went to Centre parcs with him for a long weekend. It was just what we needed to sort ourselves out although I did miss the girls.

We're currently working round the clock to try and get the house we live in up to scratch and put that on the market as well. After tonnes and tonnes of talks we've finally decided that we're going to take the plunge and move to the coast. It feels really scarey to be leaving a known environment for an unknown one but also exciting. Once we've moved dh will go contracting which should give us the necessary boost to our income to allow me to leave my own job and find one with less hours giving me my dream of spending more time with the kids. However that's quite a way off yet.

Both girls are great, dd1 is virtually eating words she's so hungry to read. DD2 meanwhile just wants to be her big sister a complete mini me! Its actually rather cute. Yes they have loads of spats but most of the time they appear to enjoy each other's company. We're currently painting dd2's room and have moved her in with dd1. She awoke at 04.30 am the other morning and all I could hear was dd1 say "Its ok lotte, I'm here, you can go back to sleep now". The following morning I found dd1 in dd2's cot reading to her - bless. Potty training has come to temporary stop. We're off to Sardinia on 31st for a week and if I feel up to it I may try again then (based on good weather and not moving around too much )

I'm just starting to get broody and am sooo jealous of the bumps here but at the same time really enjoying hearing all about it. Better go as am at work

Wills · 20/05/2005 10:19

My bloody mother! Wont type it all in again but bloody mother

Marina · 20/05/2005 10:59

Hello all - I KEEP forgetting to actually watch the threads I am watching. Work has been hectic too which is why I failed to e-mail you Wills to find out what you've been up to - and now I see it's not all been good news .
Personally, I think the fact you can describe yourself as "estranged" from your wretched mother is a positive step, even though it sounds bad. She has caused you so much heartache over the years, I sincerely hope this state of affairs will soon make her realise what she's missing. We are having some problems with dh's mum and sister at the moment but nothing like yours
Really hope the Legoland scenario resolved itself - not stunning weather for their trip alas
good news about the house situation though - keeping my fingers crossed for you on all fronts
and do enjoy Sardinia . There was I feeling really quietly chuffed we have managed four days on a farm near Boulogne
And let's face it, the children do help make up for the grind sometimes. Ours are really developing a relationship too - ds has even started playing with dollies with dd, possibly to divert her from trashing his Lego metropolis. We have a lot of magic moments amongst the racing around like demons at 7.30am.
Everyone else is jolly quiet on here! Where are you all - I've spotted champs and tortoiseshell around, hope things are not too painful with the SPD KMS. And where's that Katherine?

KMS · 20/05/2005 11:10

Wills I really feel for you and your dd1! have posted on your thread.
Fingers and toes crossed for the house sale as well. maybe a move away from Dm will help?

Hello marina good to hear from you. Spd is under control thanks as i now do nothing but sit around all day!! if I walk anywhere I have to use the crutches and then I start to get more pain. so I am fine as long as i do nothing!!

KMS · 20/05/2005 11:13

ooooo! have to post this!

DD has just done a wee in the potty! she has no nappy on at the moment and while I was on here she took herself off and did a wee! I can't beive it!!

isn't it amazing what we mums find exciting now!!!

Marina · 20/05/2005 11:42

KMS, and well done your dd. Glad to hear you are doing OK

champs · 21/05/2005 15:49

hi wills!! sorry this is happening with your m. How horrid. Has the trip day gone? did dd go? I really am angry about how manipulative and nasty your m was about all this.
On the other habd I am so pleased that the house has been snapped up. so lovely that you and dh back on track. He's bound to be going through some emotional distress at mo.
DD's sound wonderfull smiled at the thought of your dd1 comforting and then reading with dd2.

Marina -- LOL!! I forgot all about watched threads!! i wanted to get away too this year but nope!! may have a look at a holiday park or something.

KMS -- as boring as sitting around may get soak it up hun, you deserve it. must be hard with lil one too.
How clever of dd!!

tortoiseshell · 22/05/2005 17:36

Hi everyone - I keep forgetting to watch this thread too - Wills I saw the thread on your mother - hope that was resolved and your dds managed to have a lovely day out after all. Sounds very exciting, moving to the coast - how are things with your dh now? Champs and KMS - your bumps must be about ready to pop aren't they? Or have you got a few weeks left to go?

We're all fine here - very of those of you with babies interested in the potty - I think it will be a LONG time before dd shows any interest. Wills, I know what you mean about them emulating their older siblings - when dd doesn't want to do her teeth, I get ds into the bathroom and he just opens his mouth wide, and she copies instantly. It's real adoration! She is very chatty now, and a real minx - she has just wandered into the room wearing a fireman's coat, a duck mask as a hat and blowing a plastic saxophone - a strange outfit, but she loves it!

Hope everyone's ok - hello to everyone I haven't mentioned.

champs · 22/05/2005 22:32

tortoiseshell -- LOL@dd!! what a creative costume!!
still got about 11 weeks or so to go.

KMS · 23/05/2005 12:24

Yep 11wks still to go here as well!

LOL out your DD Dressing up tortoiseshell. Aren't they all such great characters now!

KMS · 24/06/2005 22:45

How is everyone?

Are we all enjoying the heat?

I am having real "de jar veu" back to being preg with our babes 2 yrs ago, in this heat! i am swelling up like a balloon again. Bit cooler today though was a very nice change.

Has anyone got stuck into the potty training yet?

DD is very happy to use a potty when she has no nappy on, but I have no energy or inclination to take it any further at the moment, as I am sure she will regress back when the baby comes!

champs · 30/06/2005 13:56

Hi KMS!
LOL I too am having hot flashbacks to last pg in this heat. Today's not so bad tho as rain seemed to have added a cool breeze.
I have been giving potty training a thought but have no energy to give it a proper go

Marina · 30/06/2005 14:16

Me too and I am not even pg! I don't envy you two on that particular front...good grief it was hot when our August babes were born in 2003...
We have just got through chickenpox and are struggling with getting our GP and dd's ENT specialist to talk to each other about her ear infections...but all well and happy apart from that!
Have not even gone there WRT to potty-training, although dd is embarassingly interested in anyone else using the toilet...what a NOSY kid!

KMS · 01/07/2005 23:51

Yippee!
I was begining to think I was the only one on this thread and it is great to hear from you both.

Wills??? Katherine??? Tortoiceshell??? Where is everyone else??

Champs not seen you on ante-natal thread for a long time.

Marina sympathies for DD with C pox. Hope she didn't get it too bad. It has been doing the rounds at school recently and I'm very pleased that the boys had it about 3 years ago and DD hasn't got it yet. Don't think i could cope with it right now!!

Not looking forward to predicted heat wave at end of July!!!

champs · 02/07/2005 14:28

Marina -- lovely to hear from you!! ds1 had CP about a month ago, silly school didn't even inform us about it being in the school until he got it and I rang in. was a bit worried being pg and all. ds2 didn't get it.
LOL @ your dd, ds2 is the same, he even shouts out "'oilet" whenever someone gets up off their chair. he loves coming into the toilet when i'm using it no matter how munch i protest. whenever he see's a toilet when we're out or if it comes on tv etc, he calls out "oilet"

KMS -- nope, not been on ante-natal threads for ages!! bah too july heatwave

KMS · 07/07/2005 20:13

Are all you central London guys ok??

Wills · 21/07/2005 11:17

I'm fine KMS. Couple of hairy moments but apart from that fine.

Sorry I haven't been around I've been totally focused on getting our house on the market. We now have two houses on the market. One is under multiple offers none of which I can accept as none of them have sold their own. Desperate to sell as dh and I have decided on a major change in lifestyle involving me giving up work etc. However it all depends on selling both houses and the market is flatter than a pancake at the moment.

Dd2 is fab and funny. She has wonderful temper tamtrums that keep making me laugh (much to her frustration). She's now chatting away although all of her words start with the letter d so its duddle (cuddle) and dI want draw (I want straw) etc etc. She's still short and I suspect that she's going to be like that for life - but wobetide anyone who makes the mistake of thinking that small means gentle. She's definitely a little bruiser!

Hope everyone else is well. Not many weeks to go for those bumps now.

KMS · 23/07/2005 11:38

Pleased to hear you are ok Wills. I was getting a bit worried.
Good luck with getting both your houses sold. It's hard enough to get one sorted!
How is your DH doing?
Best of wishes for the life change happening ASAP!

Not long for my bump i hope! 2 wks (but will probably be nearer 3!) SPD bad again so now on bed rest.

Wills · 26/07/2005 09:32

Oh KMS sorry to hear about the bed rest. Never really suffered from that thank goodness but saw a very close friend go through it. How exciting!

champs · 26/07/2005 19:25

hi wills!! so good to hear from you. How is DH doing? dd2 sounds delightful lol @ her d's.

KMS -- aww sad to hear your own bedrest. I have 3-4 weeks depending on who's dates are right!! Have you packed your bag? I've still yet to do mine.

Wills · 28/07/2005 11:19

Gosh but I must be broody cos I'm jealous of the pair of you! Not such good news for dh at the mo. Unfortunately he's reacting to his treatment. Given that they wanted to give it to him for the next few years this is not a good sign. Oh well - will discuss with consultant when we next see him on the 30th August.

KMS · 28/07/2005 23:31

Oh Wills-sorry to hear DH is reacting to his treatment. I hope they can change it to something he doesn't react to. Any luck with the houses? You really deserve some good luck right now to wisk you on your way to the relaxed life change. Thinking of you.

Champs- really pleased your baby turned as well! Do come back to the due in august thread as we have 2 babies and 3 in labour!! (and it's still July!!)

I have DD's birthday on saturday! Can't belive it has come round so quick. Just have to hope this baby doesn't interupt her day. I don't want them to share a birthday.

How are we all feeling about having nearly 2yr olds?

Wills · 29/07/2005 13:54

Thought about the statement. Its going to sound drippy but.... In Love. Part of me is sad at her growing up but another part of me is incredibly proud. I would just like to sort out the issues so that I can spend more time with both my girls.

tortoiseshell · 04/08/2005 10:15

Hi everyone. It's dd's birthday today, can't believe she is 2! She is having a very pink day - so far, apart from the present we gave her, all her presents have been pink! But she's loving it. Just out for a birthday treat, then back for a little party. She is so gorgeous now, talks nineteen to the dozen, has beautiful long blonde hair - can you tell I'm smitten with her! She is a very even tempered little girl now, though we have had one or two tantrums, but generally she is lovely. She loves dolls, dolls prams, cots etc, and is always playing mummys and daddys with her brother. She can also count to 10 now (with some random numbers thrown in) and knows all the colours in the felt tip pens pack!

Brag over!

Hope everyone else has good birthdays for their babies and that the new babies come along safely and soon! Wills, hope the treatment evens out for your dh - do they have a backup plan if he continues to react to it? Love to everyone on this thread - xxxxxxxxxx

KMS · 04/08/2005 18:37

Happy birthday to tortoiceshells DD

Great to hear from you again. Hope you all had a great day.
