Thought it was about time we had a thread which didn't take hours to load though....

Well caught up with Wills on the other thread and feel so very bad for her. Sending you all my love Wills.

I guess everyone is feeling quite low judging by the lack of postings here but we can't let the thread sink. So just thought I'd tell everyone that DD2 has just got her first pair of wellies. They are a size 4 and her shoes are size 1 so she has to waddle and I put lots of socks on her. but she absolutely loves them. So this morning we are going to go and find some puddles (not that difficult round here at the mo but they have to be shallow enough

I'm not trying to be frivolous but I think we all need a bit of a smile. Hugs all round

KMS · 15/01/2005 15:32

how could they!

champs · 16/01/2005 16:20

argghhh!!

why!!

KMS-- yes due in Aug... how odd

KMS · 16/01/2005 21:56

Champs, do come join the ante-natal thread. There has been some bad news there recently so a new member may help to lift things a little.
How are you feeling? when is EDD?

champs · 17/01/2005 21:02

ok, will have a looksee!!

have yet to see doc, stupid stupid surgery but worked out on one of those due date clculator thingys as 12 aug.

KMS · 17/01/2005 23:28

only 5 days after me!! although mine are all about a week to 10 days late! i'm 11 wks now I've got a nuchal scan booked for next week. will be able to relax a little after that.

Why is it so difficult to get seen at your surgery?? It's so annoying having to wait for a gp appoint just to say "I'm pg" then they refer you to the MW! I had more trouble getting appointment with MW than GP.

Wills · 19/01/2005 12:44

Katherine. What limescale remover did you use to get rid of the grout. We're having awful problems with our bathroom tiles and the official stuff only takes off the very top layers. Also with this stuff, did you put it on neat and how long did you leave it?

How is everyone. The wills are all trying to think positive thoughts and try to look forwards etc. DH has one more session next week and then we have to wait a month before they'll go back in to see if there are any more lumps - fingers crossed its all clear. From there he'll go onto a 3 monthly course of operations to check and if he's clear for year then he'll move to 6 monthly and so gradually back to yearly. As for my job, well cv is written and sent to a very good agent to whom I have been recommended. Meanwhile my boss is still a shit and I suspect we're heading towards our next major row over my appraisal - Oh fingers crossed I can get out there soon. please! My "d"m has gone quiet so much so that I even let the kids go over there last Saturday. Can't help she's simply drawing breath but maybe our luck has finally changed. Would like to go house hunting but need to sell the one we did up first! Want to book a holiday but dh wont entertain the idea until his treatment is out of the way, which fair enough. Meanwhile dd2 is a walking talking gorgeous menance. She's a mini-me something dd1 was never interested in being. Anything I do she watches and then copies. We spent hours this morning shaking out the washing and hanging it up. She shock all the sock for whilst gabbling on in her own language. Meanwhile dd1 has just started full time school and whilst very tired is also a complete delight. She's learning to read and finding it incredibly exciting. I love being a mum and hope in the next two year to join a successful pregnancy thread again. Good luck Champs and KMS.
Marina - fancy a meetup next week?

KMS · 19/01/2005 23:17

Good to hear from you Wills, you sound so positive. Really hope your DH has good results soon. Maybe your DM has calmed down and go the message?

Marina · 20/01/2005 12:52

Definitely. Was wondering where you were Wills, have been very disorganised. Will mail you. Lots of love to all

champs · 22/01/2005 16:56

hi all!!
KMS-- finally saw doc after 2 weeks or so of trying the docs themselves are really nice. The receptionists are nightmares and the appt system is a big joke (except I'm not laffing) you have to call in morn for a pm appt and call in pm for following morn appt. by this time there's none and you cant just make an appt for a diff day.... I am so sick and v. tired. Have been told to stop b/f ds2 also so am gonna have a strugle there.

wills--- Hi!! you sound so upbeat. Hope all goes well. With all the work you've done on house you're bound to get a good price.

marina-- HI!!

KMS · 23/01/2005 00:49

Champs - I've not stopped bfeeding! There is no reason you can't continue if you don't want to give up. Your Ds2 may go off it as the taste will change and supply may dwindle, but if you don't want to force him to stop you can just let it run it's course and carry on till he has had enough. I know lots who have continued with no problem. My dd is only having bedtime feed and a feed before her nap. Occasionally she will sign (she does babysign) that she wants milk during the day but I think she is teething again so that could be just for a bit of comfort.

contact LLL or BfN for more info if you want some facts. article

Glad you finally got to see gp. Sounds like our appoint system but you have to ring at 8am on the dot to get appoint that day. have usually got in on the day though.

I too am very tired, but nausea is starting to fade. I'm 12wks today (sunday!) yippee!

Hope everyone else is well.

Wills · 24/01/2005 15:17

FACT! Women are not allowed to job share in the city! Want to go part time - would have difficulty affording it but would make the quality of life soo much better.

Sorry needed to moan!

KMS · 24/01/2005 21:46

WHAT??! surely that can't be right. why not? could you find someone else to share with then they don't have to lift a finger. What difference would it make to them?

Oh I hope you can get this sorted wills. You don't need any more hassle.

champs · 27/01/2005 16:15

ty kms, will get some more info.

wills--- what!!?? why ever not?? echo kms and hope this gets sorted soon

Wills · 30/01/2005 20:53

Oh me too. Its just such a male bloody environment. Now I'm someone that quite likes having the door opened for men etc but even I have to draw the line at the ridiculous efforts all the me in a crowded lift will do to stand out of my way so that I (in the back!) get to get out first and then they follow! . Anyway!!! No its that I would love to go part time and if dh finds a contracting job in April/May (once this round of cancer settles down) I could concievable go part time thereby getting the best of both worlds - some sanity and some loving!

Anyway..... Just to make it appear.... WHAT IS IT ABOUT THIS THREAD! I'm two days late. Not again! My dh hasn't let me within two feet of him for 95% of this month poor dear so how? Simply not possible... but maybe I ought to cut back the alcohol? I'd not worry normally but am not normally erratic! Anyway simply typing I'm hoping it works a bit like when you're trying and you're at least 1 minute late and you try the test - which proves negative and within half an hour you can guarantee that you will come on and you're left frustrated at the waste of yet another 5/6 quid!

champs · 31/01/2005 20:14

have you come on wills?

Have you sucommed and got a test??!!

(yes, I am as nosey as I sound)

KMS · 01/02/2005 21:14

Wills do let us know?

Wills · 03/02/2005 18:02

ended up doing a test which showed a dodgy positive. Then started to spot. Was still confused as to how the heck I could possibly have falled so did a sample and put it into the doctors for testing - that showed negative. However in those few hours it all felt like yet another roller-coaster ride - I want more children but sometimes I do wonder where I'll find the courage to go through it all again!

KMS · 03/02/2005 19:08

Oh Wills. Sorry you had another roll-a-coster ride.
Maybe when there is a little less stress going on in your life you will feel able to cope with it again.
sending you a big cyber ((hug))

champs · 04/02/2005 01:53

!! hugs from me too wills ((((wills)))))
No words can express my thoughts properly. I just wish you all the best in future. I also echo KMS(again) and pray that you will have an easier time soon.

Katherine · 04/02/2005 12:35

Hi everyone. Not been here for ages as I can never find the thread and last itme I looked no-one else seemed to either.

But what have I missed! Wills you poor thing - what is going on? Big hugs.

A huge number of early preganices fail before the egg can implant in the womb. In the past people would just have thought they were late but these days tests are so powerful that they are picked up and its so upsetting. I really feel for you. Don't worry about the drs one. I had this when I was convinced I was pg with DD1 - the recpetionist told me to go and buy one to be sure and the drs ones were really cheap. I did and I was. Also being so close to a loss isn't always terrible either. Look at Bea - conceived barely 2 weeks after a horrendous 12 week loss. How on earth did my body do it! And I spotted right through the first trimester.

Easy to say but try to take your mind off it - keep busy and take one day at a time. Easy words I know but there is nothing else to do.

Hang in there.
