And I'm sure there are trains from Leeds to Durham Norma!!!

geordiemacminx · 24/11/2007 17:22

Or Newcastle...

Ok so I'm getting excited now!!

normabutty · 24/11/2007 17:35

I don't do public transport too scary!!! Tho I might be ok if leaky was there too!

NorthernLurker · 24/11/2007 18:27

If we went for Durham I could meet you at York station for the journey up

geordiemacminx · 24/11/2007 18:56

I could probably do York - if you were coming north, Newcastle would proably be easier for you lot as the station is in the city centre - Durham station is a bit of a hike down to the shops. Sure there is trains direct to Newcastle though - most of them go to Durham first.

NorthernLurker · 24/11/2007 19:14

I can do Newcastle - it's an hour from here as (unmasks dramatically) I'm in York

oooggs · 24/11/2007 19:56

really bad night last night, Jack screamed from 3am - 4.30am - gave him medised and he slept with me, 4.45am James also jumped in been very knackered. Gutted I didn't get to the meetup (I really am) hope there is a next time

my bed is in my bedroom (well 'our') it isn't finished quite yet as stuff to go on walls and I have decided to change two bits of furniture!!!!!!!

Erin pulling herself up to standing and Jack is going to break the dvd player or the video they are both too quick and James is being a little sod with answering back and saying shouting NO

good to see you back lesley and great news on house front

ellie & pesha hope you had a fab day x

geordiemacminx · 24/11/2007 21:08

Sorry you had such a crap night oooggs... Lifted C for a dream feed at 10.30 - took til 12 to get him back down and then he was awake at 3... This is what I was meaning the other day - there is no way he can be hungry!!!

NL - I kinda guessed you were in York - you mentioned taking the girls for a horse and carriage ride a while back - York was the only place I could think of in the north that offered them

oooggs · 24/11/2007 21:10

hi gmm - thought I had killed the thread!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Eddas - 21 again?

right I can't wait any longer - off to my new bedroom I have waited 8 long months for this

oooggs · 24/11/2007 21:11

yes I agree gmm - he can't be hungry little buggers aren't they?

geordiemacminx · 24/11/2007 21:13

He has porridge at 6, 5 or 6oz at 7, then usually 4 or 5oz at 11.... he's a monster - we just ned to try and sush him back to sleep without food - easier said than done at 3am, when you know that crawling into the spare bed means sleep....

leakyR · 24/11/2007 21:24

Norma I'll be there so you'll have company on the train

NorthernLurker · 24/11/2007 21:46

gmm - I'm trying to get B back to sleep without a feed - means she comes in bed with me though. But the last few nights she has insisted on feeding at 3/4 - she has a really nasty cough though and is full of phlegm so I think she might be genuinely thirsty - hope so anyway

Yes - the carriage ride was a pretty big clue - at least I didn't mention the railway museum

geordiemacminx · 24/11/2007 22:14

If I bring C into bed he things he's at an "all you can eat buffet"

Think there was only a few - possibly only me that would have picked up on the carriage thing - its a nothern thing...

PeshaCake · 24/11/2007 22:14

Tell all

PeshaCake · 24/11/2007 22:27

well, we took the kids to maccy d's for lunch but traffic was mad and it was packed so we got takeaway and went straight to the station, just as well cos by the time we got there we only had 10 mins before train!!!!

so we get on the train, surround a youngish guy sat at the only table, and feed the children

had a fab time at soft play, have photos to put on my profile, then got train home, was a bit delayed but never mind

Hi everyone
runny, hope your SPD gets sorted out, what can be done for it?
leaky, lovely to have you back. Great news about eva! Also good about the move, keeping everything crossed. Sorry to hear your gran is so ill and your parents are stressed
liath, fantastic about your DH passing his exam.
Well we're getting there with the packing, bet there'll be loads we don't realise about until later...T seems to ahve got over his struggles, ahd a sleep this morning, and I've just put him to bed, both with no major problems. We'll see.......

elkiedee · 24/11/2007 23:37

Hi all, strange couple of days here. D's getting more mobile and more demanding and when he's awake I can't really leave him while I look at mn. He's also not as easy to hold on my lap while I use the computer as I was, as he keeps trying to grab everything - wrist rest, keyboard, you name it!

He's also still not sleeping well, I've had to go and resettle him in his cot 3 times this evening - once while reading the thread to catch up - and am sure we won't get off so lightly for much longer, I expect to hear wails any minute.

We're off to stay at my aunt's a few wmiles away while the kitchen is installed tomorrow so I don't know if I'll be able to get online much for a few days. They have an internet connection but I don't know where the computer is or if we can hook up using dp's laptop. We'll be here part of the time as well but not necessarily in circumstances where I can be online.

Welcome back Leaky. Glad to hear you've found a new place, hope all goes well from hereon with that. But sad to hear about your gran and your parents' stress.

I've met Nutty at Leeds station but really hope I might get to meet some of the other Yorkshire mn contingent some time. We're going to be in Ilkley Christmas week but we also rely on public transport and we already don't have that much time - arrive on Saturday, dp goes to get mum Sunday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, dp takes mum home, and then just one full day left before we go home on Saturday . But maybe some time in 2008 we can arrange something.

York would be a lovely place to have a meet up I think, much nicer to wander round than Leeds city centre, and various possibilities for those with other dcs - or if it takes us a while to get it together to have a meet up! There are lots of places I'd like to take dp to visit in Yorkshire actually - we've been to Harrogate together but there's the places in Leeds I grew up in, there's York, Whitby, Scarborough - and they're so different in character too.

Hope SPB, Pillock and all get a good night's sleep. I'd send sleep vibes but we probably need them too.

geordiemacminx · 25/11/2007 06:13

Well that'll be me first in then...

RANT ALRET Dp stayed up later than me last night to watch stupid intersting match of the day so I asked im to give C his dream feed when he came up and tootled off to bed at 10.30. 1.30 he comes up, waking me up in the process but hey ho I'm used to it. 2.30 C wakes and dp says "shall I give him the rest of that bottle" "Er the one you were supposed to give him when you came up"? In his wisdom he decided that the whole dream thing is a croc and he would just feed him when he wakes - unfortunately if C wake then he will not go back to sleep after a bottle - So 4am and I'm up trying to sssh him - eventually get him down only for him to wake at 5 - Dp storms in (I am in spare room at this point due to dp's snoring) and says "I'll take him downstairs" - Yeah cos thats gonna do the world of good. So I lay next to him and fed him for an hour - little toad was still not having any of it so at 6 I admitted defeat and came downstairs. He's under his babay gym at the moment watching baby tv and having a crap by the sounds of things....

I'm so annoyed that none of us have had any sleep due to dp thinking he knows best - ARGHHHHHHH

Apologies for that - feels better now I have got it off my chest!!!

StealthPolarBear · 25/11/2007 06:37

Morning
Well I thought the other night was bad but it was nothing compared to last night, and it doesn't sound like I'm the only one, gmm and elkie
He's been up every hour or hour and a half all night, plus getting up to feed has felt like an obstacle course, tripping over DH's jeans, as I got back into bed his elbow was on my pillow every time!! Plus at 2am it was absolutely freezing, we both shivered through a feed. Not sure if T is ill, he wouldn't eat last night and was a bit sick, plus if he has a sore throat that would exlain the frequent feeds. Seems happy enough now. Going to take his temperature when dh up otherwise I'll do it wrong and end up dashing him to A&E cos I had the thermometer upside down or something.
Think we should have kept the thread title saying "Babies will sleep through by 7 mo or your money back"

geordiemacminx · 25/11/2007 06:39

Welcome to the insomniacs club!!!!
