Here you go Eli!

I almost put 'your clothespegs' on the end there. Ds loves clothespegs. Came home from Rainbows the other day and dp had made a deal with ds. He could play with the clothespegs as long as he did it in his playpen and let dp make dinner.

sofa
laptop
tv remote
water
biscuit tin
slippers
phone
baby who smells slightly of rancid petit filous having just chucked up everywhere.

Indith has moved in for the day

So AQ which antenatal group are you abandoning us for

Had a chat with dp last night. Have come to the conclusion that what is really holding us back is the enormity of actually ttc. He has a point it is a very scary thought to do it all again but on purpose this time!

OMG OMG! AQ, Congratulations!!!!!

Do you have a due date yet? How are you feeling? Aaah, I feel half and half just and excited for you, and possibly delighted to be able to cheer you through pregnancy (assuming you'll still have time/energy to post) and not go through it myself..

OK, I've calmed down now and will read rest of posts.

Elibean · 04/02/2008 11:56

Indith, poor LO, are you covered in (ex) Petit Filou? If so, poor you too...and splendid wonderful too for planning/thinking of planning TTC in midst viral attack.

Elibean · 04/02/2008 11:58

Have to run away now and try and pack another few things before picking dd1 up. Trying to bring all we need, nothing we don't need, and hopefully NO parasites

Hard work

We're off on Thursday, so may not have time to visit much before then. I promise to try and bring back a bunch of cyber coconuts, pineapples all round, and some warmer weather. And Oli, have a great time in S'pore if you go before I get back - can't remember dates!

accessorizemybaublessanta · 04/02/2008 12:48

Aww, thanks all
Only 4-5 weeks, early days but fingers crossed for early October. DP & I think we're doing the right thing, he was really chuffed when I told him.
We never TTC btw Indith, just 'forgot' to get condoms occasionally and come what may (given that I'm 38, surprised that it happened so quickly!). So we both felt more relaxed about it than last 2 times when it took nearly a year.
Eli, where are you going again??? Coconuts??

Indith · 04/02/2008 13:00

October babe, fantastic

I've tried to 'forget' the condom but he keeps noticing . Anyway when we get going I think it will be more not trying not to than trying to given that ds is pretty firm evidence of a lack of fertility issues

By the way AQ now that it is February, are you a lazy mare who hasn't taken her decorations down yet or simply early in your festive preparations?

OP posts:
Indith · 04/02/2008 13:02

I suggest "perfectlyaccessorizedbump"

accessorizemybaublessanta · 04/02/2008 13:06

Yay, not another december one! (though would it be too much to ask to have one of them in the summer? sigh)
Must change my nickname, I knew someone would notice....
How is ds?

Indith · 04/02/2008 13:11

Sleeping...again. Has had a little lunch but not managed to get him to drink anything yet today.

jabberwocky · 04/02/2008 18:02

A Halloween baby! I was hoping to have one with an October birthday. Indith echoed my thoughts - you're just going to have to keep up with two threads. We can't lose you completely to another antenatal group!

(Oh, and I noticed the name but decided not to mention it )

Indith, thanks for the packing advice. I'm about to get started again, sigh.

babypowder · 04/02/2008 18:35

Poor DS, Indith. Hugs to both of you (and a large gin and tonic especially for you)

AQ, I didn't want to mention abandonment in case I sounded needy.

babypowder · 04/02/2008 18:36

And Eli, if you're still around, just where are you going????

Olihan · 04/02/2008 18:45

HOORAY AQ . That's fantastic! 3 is the best number of babies to have!

Indith, I recommend copius amounts of alcohol to ensure they don't notice the 'forgotton' condom . It got me 2 out of the 3 dcs anyway!

Eli, have a wonderful holiday - we're going on 4th March, can't wait!

Took ds2 to a Tumble Tots trial session today. Dd goes already and he's always trying to join in so we took him to his own session. He LOVED it and, even better, it wore him out!

Gave all my baby stuff to my sister this weekend. She's due in 6 weeks so I'm trying not to be broody and . It seems a bit final getting rid of everything but I really need to face up to the fact that my family is complete . No more babies for me, just nieces or nephews.

Elibean · 04/02/2008 18:50

We're going to Barbados...I feel I should be singing every time I say that

Actually, I pretty much am. Can't quite believe it yet, and although the prospect of 9 hours locked into small space at 10,000ft with the dds is terrifying, I'm very excited. Its been years since we did anything this adventurous, or WARM for that matter.

AQ, you are allowed to be as forgetful or preoccupied as you like and have totally out of season names, given your condtion. I probably am too, without said condition, because I just realized I am nine years older than you

And don't you dare abandon us (sod looking needy, I say)

Indith, eating is good...hope he's on the mend, maybe?

Must go, dd1 is trying to 'pack my bag for Barbados' in great excitement, and making the most dreadful chaotic mess of felt tips, plastic food and glittery shoes in the process.

Elibean · 04/02/2008 18:52

Oli, I'll be back in good time to wave you off

And I'm also giving away baby clothes, feeling mix of very relieved (age related, that one) and very . My family is more than I could ever have expected or hoped for, but it still gets to me for some reason. Maybe because I'm one of 3??

jabberwocky · 04/02/2008 19:05

I hear you, eli. If only I were younger...I am also one of 3. But I keep telling myself I am lucky to have one much less two and if my energy doesn't pick they'll be taking care of me soon instead of vice versa I think recent lack of sleep and New Year's pneumonia have still got me a bit down.

Indith, at least he's taking in something. It is interesting that he is eating and not drinking. My dcs are just the opposite when ill.

Indith · 04/02/2008 19:06

Barbados! That is amazing! I shall admit to being a little as I think France is about as far as I shall be going for a while. Still I can't complain, I've a fair few places I've been and a whole lot of life left

Oli and Eli- night feeds, explosive poo, screaming for no good reason, refusal to admit that night is for sleeping, leaving it 4 days before you realise you've not showered and a week before you wash your hair.......feeling better?

Elibean · 04/02/2008 20:51

Indith, um, yes

Though if I could be ten years younger, or even four, I'd have another one and put up with France for a few more years. Probably

FGS, wish I could pack you and the rest of the gang in my squished suitcase - a postnatal group on the beach would be very cool.

Actually, this whole trip was fuelled by me wailing about how much I needed a holiday after ten colds, one vomiting bug and loads of worry about dd2 some time back in November. Threw caution to the winds and booked, then forgot about it. Later discovered we have to change the boiler and god knows what else, and realized it might have been wiser to go to Bognor, but there you go. Too late, thank goodness

Elibean · 04/02/2008 20:53

Jabber, Jabber....we were all going to visit you, once upon a time when we were the viral ones and you were well and in sunshine, remember? Sounds as though you could use at the very least a weekend away in a sunny part of the US: any chance??

Pneumonia is known to make people v tired/low for ages after, nasty illness that it is, did that to my BF last year. Hugs and a large tonic (with or without gin) to you.

jabberwocky · 05/02/2008 00:41

aww, thanks, eli. I think that must be what it is. All those nights up with ds2 just as I was getting over it and it's all catching up with me now.

Barbados (or anywhere warm for that matter) sounds lovely. Unless we sell the house sooner than expected I don't see a vacation in my near future.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 05/02/2008 07:39

My headcold has mutated into earache and an eye infection. DH is being great - sleeping in the spare room, shutting my door and dealing with the kids in the night to let me sleep. I havent had a cold like this for years

On a baby note DD2 gave herself a black eye the other day. She took 3 steps then fell onto the coffee table! She has now taken about 6-7 steps but seems to stall then. Doing well though

DD1 coming down with cold now too. Sigh.

Jabber, something like pneumonia can take quite a while to recover from.

Indith · 05/02/2008 16:28

Much sympathy FGS. Your DH sounds fab, have you considered renting him out as a night nanny? You'd earn a fortune!

Have just come back from the Dr, again. Ds started oozing beautifully from one ear yesterday. He has an infection (duh) so they have swabbed it and sent it off to the lab to find out which antibiotic to fight it with. Eyes are much better, I think I can get away with sending him to creche tomorrow without spreading conjunctivitis around. Cold is abating, we are into manic coughing now. Of course manic coughing means mummy was up lots last night cuddling him back to sleep. And coughing hurts throat so food consumption is down again. At least I hope it was the coughing not the ear as that won't start to get treated until Friday!

I think I'm going to go bury my head in the sand.

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 05/02/2008 17:49

Ouch, poor ears! Indith and FGS, are you putting in a little oil to soothe? I wish they had cultured ds2's infection, then maybe we could have gone straight to the antibiotic that actually worked

FunkyGlassSlipper · 05/02/2008 18:42

ouch Indith - poor little mite.

My ears seems to be improving but I'm still full of cold and cant hear properly. I started period today too and had a total meltdown so DH being very sympathetic.

Another early night for me...
