btw, I would have been faylisa last time you were on here. We've all had a few name changes recently, just to add to everyone;s confusion

TheQueenOfQuotes · 12/11/2007 19:34

helloo........long time no speak (formerly Fannyannie ).

Just wondering - following on from another thread I've started tonight.........

is DS3 really that big, I mean in comparison to all the other June babies.

He's 5 1/2 months, 20lb 9oz (9.34kg) as of today, and is in 9-18 month clothes......

NattyThomasandEllen · 12/11/2007 19:37

my DS is 5 months ish (10th June) and is 18 1/2 lb.

He;s recently fallen from 91st percentile to nerer the 75th. There's got to be people on the 99th percentile as well as on the 10th, otherwise there wouldn't be an point in doing weights - so unless your HV is worried then I wouldn't worry about it too much.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 12/11/2007 19:52

Hi all - inc Natty and QoQ of course!

Poor DD seems to be a bit constipated. I'm blaming the half banana she had for breakfast yesterday. Poor thing made huge red face and grunty sounds this afternoon, but there was only a small, but brown and solid, poo as a result. I feel very sorry for her. She has had plenty of BF as well as the food, so I hope that if we keep off bananas for a while at least, and keep plenty of BF going, it'll sort itself out. I can also give her some tummy massage to help, and wondered if anyone else had any suggestions?

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 12/11/2007 19:53

I've heard that a tiny bit of orange juice is supposed to help with constipation in babies, but I have never tried it myself.

NattyThomasandEllen · 12/11/2007 19:55

Ah but trace your lo not had the best start with her being poorly, tom was tiny due to his medial prob, but he has caught up now, so don't worry won't be long, by two you wouldn't be able to pick her out of a group. Tell you what it is odd having such a big one after such a small one! How are you anyway trace? X

NattyThomasandEllen · 12/11/2007 20:00

Brown sugar in water. Tom had terrible constipation due to the special formula he was on. And i would avoid bananas if i were you!

Thanks Natty and Fairy. I was thinking of trying to give her some water as well, and of drinking lots of OJ myself - I know when I've drunk too much in the past she has been very loose. And yes, I don't think she'll be getting any banana for a while She had apple this morning and again tomorrow. I feel bad that she's got a problem, as otherwise it was going so well.

Hi Natty - nice to see you back -
and hi QueenofQuotes.

Took L swimming again today and dunked her twice under the water - she loves it!!
Then had to go to the hospital for a follow up with Consultant re birth problems. Had to wait over one and a half hours to be seen in a really hot waiting room. Even 4mths on he didnt have an answer re my complaint, so he's chasing it up again. How useless are they??

Daisy, hope you and your family are ok, it must be awful.....

Sputnik · 12/11/2007 21:10

Hi Natty, nice to have you back

QofQs, I think mine actually beats yours, not yet 5 months, about 9kgs (due for weigh-in on friday), and in 9-18 months stuff, depending on the make. There's quite a few of us I think with very large babies on this thread.

Jammy, try stewing a prune or 2 and give her the juice

TheQueenOfQuotes · 12/11/2007 21:13

ahhh - but Sputnik - how big was yours at birth......TK was a tiddler just 7lb 6oz - so he's almost trebled his birth weight.

Sputnik · 12/11/2007 21:32

Not really: 3.4kgs so 7.5lbs

TheQueenOfQuotes · 12/11/2007 21:45

wow - that's impressive.

TK was about 8.5kg at the same age as your LO so I bet they're going to be heading for 10kg when you get them weighed .

(I don't know how many chidlren you have - but you do know that big babies are expensive to feed when they get older don't you - I've already had 2 "average" sized babies who turned into large ones......and even though they're not 7 and nearly 4 they're already eating me out of house and home LOL)

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 12/11/2007 21:51

Right...you can all stop boasting about your big babies, coz I win!!

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 12/11/2007 21:52

Welcome back QoQ and Natty. Glad you and your los are well.

TheQueenOfQuotes · 12/11/2007 21:53

go on then deck........how big at birth and how big now........

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 12/11/2007 21:55

10lb 8oz at birth!!

Last time I got him weighed on 18/10 he was 19lb 6oz at 17 weeks. That was 4 weeks ago, so he will be well over 20lbs now!

Dd was a whopper as well, so I didn't expect anything less!

Sputnik · 12/11/2007 22:04

We will see on friday Holly, he he he
Actually I wouldn't have minded a more dinky baby I could carry around without sustaining major back injury

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 12/11/2007 22:27

That would be nice sputnik! Sometimes I have to carry both of mine down the stairs at once, no wonder my knee gave up!

We have a fairy reward chart for dd now, she loves it! Soooo many potty wees, it's fab. For her special treat, when she has filled the chart up, she wants a teddy bear (she has about 5 million already, so god knows why she wants another). I'm going to take her to the bear factory, I'm VERY excited! Am I sad?
