hi elkie - we were told to feed them about an hour to hour + half before swimming but tbh - sometimes with naps etc - c gets a feed just befoe going in.
we love her classes and you'll be surprised how much they end up doing so quickly!

CaptainDippy · 02/11/2007 10:38

Mwah Ha Ha Ha @ all your "rocking on all fours" babys!! P is pretty mobile on her tummy, but not showing any signs of crawling yet. She can only roll from front to back, but not the other way - LONG MAY IT CONTINUE, I cry!! DD2 was commando crawling at 4.5m, crawling at 6m, crusing at 8m, walking at 11m ...... DD1 however didn't crawl til 14m and walked at 2yrs!! Sort of hoping P will stick somewhere in the middle of the 2.

Sooooo glad Eva is doing well, Leaky - keep us updated. Glad your MIL has being enjoying her now! Praying for your G'ma and so sorry about your friend I remember you mentioning it before. A very dear friend of ours died a month after DD2 was born, she was only 30 We were in hospital at the same time (DD2 spent a week in SCBU when she was born) and although I wasn't allowed to take DD2 to see her, I sent lots of messages and pics through the enternal mail, it was lovely. I was so when she died.

I have always introduced breakfast 1st!! I find it the easiest meal of the day to do. P is on 3 meals a day plus countless breaksticks and rice cakes ...... she is a pork chop ..... not having much milk now ; but still enjoying her early morning boobie

Maveta · 02/11/2007 10:45

hi again, sorry to hear about your Gran Leaky, i'm thinking of you.

no indication of crawling from n yet which i think i should be glad about? he doesn't even get up on his knees yet. i am also being very lazy with the weaning, he gets about 1 meal a day but seeing as the pediatric nurse told me the other day I should start with baby cereal in his bottle only 3 bottles a week for a few weeks, I think we're doing just fine! Also not 100% doing blw because I'm too scared. I normally start off giving things whole and then chicken out towards the end and mash it to actually see if he'll eat some.. i do think I'm kind of missing the point though

normabutty · 02/11/2007 10:53

Morning all,

Thinking of you leaky. Glad that Eva's doing well though.

I have become obsessed with The Great Cloth Diaper Hunt ...it's very boring, tedious but somewhat addictive

CaptainDippy · 02/11/2007 10:58

Baby cereal in his bottle!!!?

Maveta · 02/11/2007 11:03

Yes, CD, I know...

..also they seem very vocal here about no gluten until about 8 months - does anyone know anything about that??

CaptainDippy · 02/11/2007 11:18

To do with how gluten is digested - baby's stomach is too immature to digest it properly til then ..... I don't know, P has had plenty of Gluten tbh

Pinions · 02/11/2007 11:52

Quick question if anyone's floating around?

Calpol - its says babies 3 mths plus, can give either half spoon 2.5ml, or full spoon 5ml, ladies is anyone ok with giving full spoon at this age, seems a bit much. Teething?

Idreamofchocolate · 02/11/2007 11:59

Pinions, I always try to give S the whole 5ml - she tends to spit half of it out anyway, but I'm sure it's fine to give them the whole 5ml

Leaky - So sorry to hear about your gran. And so happy to hear that Eva is doing so well, bless her.

Maveta - S has already had gluten too (and she's not 6 months until Monday). She loves cake, more than anything else it seems . Good girl!

Well the house buying/selling saga is chuntering along for us. I simply cannot get my head around house values around here, there is no logic whatsoever. Have just had our house valued by another estate agent (one whom I really do trust), and it's less than the other agent valued it at (which is rather frustrating). Yet I have been to view other properties that are more than £100k more than our current house, but which feel much smaller. It's totally doing my head in. I don't know what to dooooooooo! Someone convince me that moving house is a good idea please

WestCountryLass · 02/11/2007 12:10

This morning Leo mastered crawling the stairs

Actually only two steps but I am now officially a headless chicken trying to keep my eyes on him and everything else. He now comes to find me and crawls up the hall, love him, he looks so cute as he purposefully inches his way along grinning like a cheshire cat

Idreamofchocolate · 02/11/2007 12:12

Wow WCL, that's very impressive! S sounds just like Dippy's P though, not moving anywhere yet and can only roll from front to back. No worries about barracading anything here yet, thank goodness!

Pinions · 02/11/2007 12:16

IDOC, hmm house moving have been there before. What to say?. Decide first that you really do want to move and that now is the right time to do it. Then if you decide to go for it stick to your guns and do not move until you find the house that you really do want, ie perfect in every way. That's my take on it I know it is not easy at all.

Thanks for the calpol tip. Reassuring really to hear that, as I have always tended to "err on the side of caution" with medicines. I can never really tell whether 2.5ml is really working iyswim. Have just given another 2.5 and will hope for the best x

CaptainDippy · 02/11/2007 12:19

Phew, eh IDOC!!? Ooooooh WCL, I didn't realised any of our April (March / May) bubbas were actually crawling yet!! Go Leo!

P gets the full 5ml, oh yes .....

Right, need to stuff younger two with food and go and get the older one .....

Idreamofchocolate · 02/11/2007 12:23

Pinions, you are right, it will have to be a bloody fantastic house to make it worth our while. We really do want to go though - had the police around again on Halloween night - one of our neighbours had called them reporting they'd seen some youths legging it down our drive. To be honest, I love our house, but am totally hacked off with the area and the ignorant little shts that seem to live around here. And I don't want the girls going to the local secondary school where said little shts all go.

So I have the moving bug. Dh leaving it all to me typically .

Sexonlegs · 02/11/2007 12:45

Hi loves

Wow WCL, Leo is crawling!!! No rest for you then (not that you probably have chance to rest anyway!)

Eddas, I read that it was your dh on all fours at first!

IDOC, are you looking at wwww.rightmove.co.uk for houses? We found it really useful when we were looking, as so may estate agents use it.

Elkie hope D enjoyed the swimming.

Oooggs et al, hope you had better nights.

All quiet here. K having her Gina Ford imposed nap! Can't see her crawling for a while yet. She rolls over from back to front, and that is it! Makes it a nightmare at nappy change time!!

Pinions · 02/11/2007 13:23

Why is it that babies seem at their happiest when sitting in their own poo !

(Or maybe just mine).

Sexonlegs · 02/11/2007 13:43

Pinions, pmsl! I have to say that K isn't bothered either! I suppose they don't know any better!

fangsandflash · 02/11/2007 13:44

Hello all

Just popping in for quick nose about - hope everyone is okay and am totally freaked that some of them are crawling arrgghhhh - must start thinking about stair gates soon!

Is anyone pg yet???? hmmm come on - spill the beans ... not me btw! Coil well and truly in. Dh wants more though!!!

Must go - have loads to do

Love to all xxxx

oooggs · 02/11/2007 13:50

I took Erin to bed with me and she slept fine til 5am then woke for a feed then back til 7.15am. Jack woke at 4.30am for a feed then back til 7.15am. James up at 12.30am so dh sorted him out and slept in there with him in his single bed.

could have been better

I always give 5ml of medicine

both dts can get from one end of the room to the other very quickly by half crawling & half dragging

thanks for checking up on me this morning

we moved 2 years ago - never again and live in an unusual self build house (built late 1970's)

CaptainDippy · 02/11/2007 14:09

Just thinking, mind!

Idreamofchocolate · 02/11/2007 14:21

Dippy !!!!!

Pinions · 02/11/2007 14:21

Hi fangs (still prefer octo btw!) how's it going with you thesedays??

Dippy no 4. Um yes if someone were to carry my child, give birth to it and um yes sure there is something else then I would happily go for no 3, oh yes look after it thats it.

Off to nursery in a mo. No doubt fun. Bye ladies and be good x

normabutty · 02/11/2007 15:03

Dippy...thinking about number 4!!! You mad woman

oooggs · 02/11/2007 15:29

Dippy [mad] [out of your mind] [watch the telly]

cazboldy · 02/11/2007 16:22

I have a coil in too fangs, if you don't mind me asking how long have you had it and what do you think of it?
M gets up on hands and knees and rocks and she can roll right across the room at breakneck speed! She sleeps from 7.30 til about 6 in the morning. No consolation but I think each baby gets easier!
