Oh, so my thread's not good enough is it? Huh!

Eddas · 04/11/2007 21:31

this is octos thread

SharpMolarBear · 04/11/2007 21:31

no, threads are not exclusive, you're right
We are sensitive as we seem to have had more than our fair share of criticism of the title
(including ffs grow up and, antenatally, they'll know what it's like soon. patronisingly!) TBH when I read your posts on this thread I thought you were being friendly and gently taking the p*ss, when I saw the other thread I changed my mind, it seemed as though you intentionally came on to offend us.
Anyway, ruck over I realise this will be a massive x post with octo who will have started a new thread!
Anyone seen MMK around recently?

SharpMolarBear · 04/11/2007 21:33

well i was right about the x post
My excuse is i'm typing one handed, holding wriggly baby with the other
no-one is listening are they? Hellooooo-ooooo-oooooo................................

octo · 04/11/2007 21:33

we've moved!

SharpMolarBear · 04/11/2007 21:35

we shall we shall not be moved

Eddas · 04/11/2007 21:35

or alternatively rhubarbs one

incidentally, i know you were having a laugh, and think pinions would've been too, even in the one's you thought were being mean/nasty as we know her and know how to read what's been written. BUT i think you should be aware that postnatal threads are usually people who know each other well and although nobody minds anyone posting on them, you could've posted at a point where we were talking something serious over. so people will or may get annoyed.

If you knew our history of pissing people off with our thread titles you may understnad more

Rhubarb · 04/11/2007 21:36

If I had intentionally come on to offend, would I not have done so?

Actions speak louder than words no?

And if people take the piss out of the title it's hardly the end of the world is it? Take the piss back!

Eddas · 04/11/2007 21:38

not taking the piss out of the title. Getting offended by them. Many, many, many times

I didn't mean you had offended, you posts were all good humored, but did you read any of the thread first to see what we were talking about? that's what I meant?

Rhubarb · 04/11/2007 21:44

Yes, it reads from the beginning like general chat. My first post asked what pinion and her pumpkins were, I thought it might be some sort of club.

Trust me, if you had been discussing anything serious I would have seen that and not posted, or offered advice. My kids may be a little older but I can still remember what it's like.

SharpMolarBear · 04/11/2007 21:50

oh i see, like a pumpkin club? we have a funny handshake too

Eddas · 04/11/2007 21:54

i thought all postnatal clubs were like ours, you know people with babies/kids born the same month(or due the smae month)

Never thought of them as random people in a club.

I suddenly feel very much like I'm in a club like we had a school>>>

Rhubarb · 04/11/2007 21:56

Well yes, I suppose most of you do have the advantage of being in the same situation. But as all of us here are mothers, we've all been in that situation and know what it's like. So apologies for gatecrashing, I must admit to being a bit taken aback by the response to our gentle piss-taking. Perhaps there is a lesson to be learnt there?

Can I just ask if any of you post on any other threads, such as chat?

SharpMolarBear · 04/11/2007 21:59

I go through phases of posting on every thread in active convos pretty much to not posting on anything
eddas - kylie and jason club??? I can't believe you admitted to that
(Think I was in a care bear club in primary school )

Eddas · 04/11/2007 22:01

I do, post all over, even tried the bar once, but it shuts VERY early

I think people tend to be when a new person posts on 'our' postnatal thread. It's not that we don't want anyone new just that we've all been posting together for ages now and tend to get defensive. It stems back to the early days and having any new posters basically moaning about thread titles like 'minty sperm or regular' which was all about Gaviscon BTW, not man juice

weeonion · 04/11/2007 22:02

rhun=barb - i go out on posting flurries from time to time but tend to stck to certain topic areas - bfeeding, nappies, weaning but when i have a spare moment or 10 - i head to active conversations as well.

kylie&jason club! care bears! god - my school seems v dull - debating and drama

Eddas · 04/11/2007 22:02

nownt wrong with kylie or jason

weeonion · 04/11/2007 22:03

lol lol - man juice! oh i had forgotten that furore!

Rhubarb · 04/11/2007 22:03

I remember that Eddas, but the trouble with that title is that not everyone would know what you were on about, and if you weren't in the know it would be safe to assume that you were on about sperm.

I think we all make the mistake of thinking that everyone knows what we are on about.

SharpMolarBear · 04/11/2007 22:03

these weren't official clubs, they were all underground

weeonion · 04/11/2007 22:06

oh underground clubs! lol lol
I think mine woudl have been more related to who was our latest real life lust objects then!! manys a 6th former didnt know that hearts were beating for tehm!

SharpMolarBear · 04/11/2007 22:06

we should stop posting here really, my fault, it will cause confusion as the new thread's here

Rhubarb · 04/11/2007 22:08

You mean here

weeonion · 04/11/2007 22:09

lol lol smb - that takes us back to rhubarbs other thread from last night

Eddas · 04/11/2007 22:09

we didn't think about it when we posted the title as we knew what was meant. Thing was when the arguement errupted not one person had been on to us to ask what the title was about IIRC. But anywho, that's well in the past now. But still affects odd posters who come on unfortunately!

It's bloomin difficult to get across things like tone of voice/sarcasm on mn so it's no wonder people get into arguements when really they've not read something in the mannor it was intended.
