Ah well, just seemed to me that after we left good humouredly with Pinion and Dippy, they went on to slate us afterwards.

Never mind. You are all more than welcome on any of my threads - and you know, you should treasure your children whilst they are still little, they grow all too quickly and I regret not having made the most of mine whilst they were that little. I spent the time instead wishing they would sleep through, or wean ok, or start to walk, or start to talk. I should have accepted and made the most of them instead of grumbling about how tired they made me.

VamPesha · 04/11/2007 17:42

Rhubarb I think perhaps people are a little sensitive as we have had people come onto our threads specifically to critisise and complain before and even had to get one of our AN threads deleted.

And our babies all seem to have been conspiring to keep us all awake for the best part of the night for weeks so we are perhaps a little crabby!

Oh and I braved your profile and I liked your pumpkin but its not as good as mine
I loved your parsnips!!

weeonion · 04/11/2007 17:42

rhubabrb - i agree with you. i am trying to be chilled about what dd is doing and just enjoy her. she makes me laugh so much and i stop myself from wishing her onto the next stage. she will reach those milestones at some point and while she is this age - she is pretty much the centre of my days.

VamPesha · 04/11/2007 17:45

Lol x post there!

Am with you on not rushing them to grow up though. In fact I'm tempted not to teach this one to talk at all!!

elkiedee · 04/11/2007 17:47

Pesha, hope you're going to eat something now before you have to return to mummy duties. I know what you mean about sometimes feeling worse when you wake up after a nap.

weeonion · 04/11/2007 17:51

VP - delighted d is doign so well. i have a friend whose wee girl with a cleft palate who just never seemed to put on weight and needed ff every hour or so. now that she is on solids - she is like a different wee person. I am amazed at how much she can eat throgh BLW and how much bigger / happier she seems!

worked at the nct sale yesterday. had a good day but boobs were bursting byt the end of it - her dad ws 2 hrs late in bringing her over. he was under pressure to get her out on time!
i was at how rude soem people were - and - it was like a total scrum over the toys section!! couldnt belive the amount unsold (and then picked up for free by the committee ). did get c a playnest - she's decidely unimpressed by it but loves her furry skittles.

went xmas shopping today - lasted 1 hour before giving up. online shopping for me i think!

VamPesha · 04/11/2007 17:55

Elkie im eating beans on toast with cheese this very second!!

Sexonlegs · 04/11/2007 18:19

Hi lasses, hope you are all ok.

Pesha, great news about D eating everything in sight.

Glad the party went well too - can't believe you were up until the early hours sorting the cake. I cheat and get it from Tesco !!

CD, hope you had a lovely walk - weather was fab here today.

Rhubarb, ikwym re not wishing the lo's lives away. I did that qute a lot with dd1, and am now trying to savour dd2 as this is it for me.

Nutty - STOP BUYING NAPPIES!!

Hi to everyone else.

All ok here, although I have a terrible tummy - sorry tmi.

Right, bath time. See you later.

CaptainDippy · 04/11/2007 18:24

Rhubarb - I am very sorry if I upset you - I was just referring to the thread that Pinions linked to - Where you and Dogboy appear to be trying to find threads to "crash" - I know that you are renowned for your sarcastic sense of humour and I just couldn't tell whether you were taking the piss out of us or having some light-hearted fun - If it was the latter, then I am sorry - It was good fun - I just don't like being the subject of ridicule. I still think your Pumpkin is fabulous and I appreciate the wise words - very much trying to enjoy my 3 and savour all the precious moments while they are still young.......not always easy ...... do feel free to pop back anytime, you are always very welcome

NorthernLurker · 04/11/2007 18:26

Good evening well I feel pretty cream crackered righht now. Very busy weekend with church bonfire party and dh doing stuff in the family service this morning. And we got B a highchair which she seems to like. She joined us in it for lunch and ruthlessly sucked a piece of yorkshire pudding till it begged for mercy! Bonfire party was fun too, had B in the carrier and she didn't seemed bothered at all. I think next year will be the tricky one
I was thinking of going to the next NCT sale here in a month or so - but am a bit scared now - should I take shoulder pads?

Sympathy to all those feeling tired - B was late to bed last night because of the party but only woke once - I had best night for weeks and of course felt v tired this am!

CaptainDippy · 04/11/2007 19:19

shoulder pads is a very good idea NL Glad you enjoyed the Party - we're hosting a Firework Party tomorrow night - must be crazy - just having fireworks and a bonfire and a few craft activites inside with some nibbles - Should only last 2 hrs tops; but we've got 19 children, 17 adults & 3 babies coming!!!!!! (Inc us 5!!)

Anyway I am off to the cinema now, "see" you tomorrow, I expect ......

Pinions · 04/11/2007 19:26

Right ladies I'm here, the voice of reason.

.

I think Rhubarb when all is said and done you picked the wrong thread to crash or in your own very words "take the piss out of".

By Rhubarb on Sat 03-Nov-07 20:06:41
Pinions and her pumpkins?

What is that title all about at all?
Better be careful though, they get all arsey about people taking the piss.

Let's do it!

[disclaimer, Rhubarb cannot be held responsible for anything she says in any future threads]

No dippy neither do I appreciate or dare I say tolerate being the subject of ridicule either. It is rather overtly clear (well to me) that in this case you were in fact very bored and did want to have some fun at someone elses expense. If that is how you like to spend your Saturday evening then so be it, to me that is rather sad.

Did it not occur that being a postnatal thread, that as we have all very recently had babies (in addition to very demading pre-schoolers)some could be feeling very mildy fragile right now, and that the most common occurences of post natal depression are between 6 and 8 months after giving birth. It might be better next time to crash a more appropriate thread perhaps?

. Piss take out of one's self.

Considering that my name is in the title I have to say that I did feel more than a little harassed and actually felt victim of a direct peronal assault, especially when you click on your profile to see the picture of what looks like a battered and bruised baby. Ok so ligthen up I hear you cry, yes you are right under normal circumstances.

My "pumpkins" btw are my tits. I have just given up breastfeeding within the last 7 days.

And for the few of you "sitting on the fence", I pride myself on being fiercely loyal, even if it is just in cyberspace .

I think that just about covers it.

(Sorry I missed you Dippy have a good time at the flicks).

oooggs · 04/11/2007 19:45

hi pinions
enjoy the flicks dippy
hi maveta
sorry you are feeling poorly tummy sol
weeonion - Christmas shopping????? I haven't time
pesha - glad dd had a nice birthday
caz- your turkey sounds nice
nutty - no more nappies
lesley - hope pc is fixed quickly - you will be missed
elkie - hope your highchair arrives soon
nl - hello
hi ellie
not missed anyone on purpose

we took dcs out for a walk today and had dts in back carriers - hard work but worth it

SharpMolarBear · 04/11/2007 19:50

oooggs my head is spinning!

oooggs · 04/11/2007 20:00

and I missed you out Katy hope T is well

weeonion · 04/11/2007 20:36

pinions - i was the one that said i was sitting on the fence. It was not to be disloyal to anyone on this thread - you and dippy especially but i, like others, decided not to get involved.
sorry if you take that as being disloyal.

SharpMolarBear · 04/11/2007 20:54

T is crawling everywhere - it's fantastic!! Novelty has not worn off yet
At the moment his speciality is crawling to the tv remote and changing the channel seems to like star trek
Mostly commando crawling but every so often he gets up on hands and knees and does it properly

SharpMolarBear · 04/11/2007 20:54

novelty for me that is!

octo · 04/11/2007 21:00

Pinions - you go girl Don't hold back Poor WO will be getting a sore bum sat on that fence - probably best to retreat to a nice comfy sofa, take sides and throw buns

Nutty - what are you looking at re nappies? You would have laughed - at the baby show a lady wandered up to the Onelife stand and when asked whether she was interested in using cloth she said 'no, I'm a modern mum' ((coffee spat out)))

Ernie has started throwing himself forward from sitting so he lands flat on his face to get onto his tummy - never really sure whether an accident or on purpose but he does tend not to cry and look quite pleased with himself

weeonion · 04/11/2007 21:02

octo - my ample ass is just fine on this fence

octo · 04/11/2007 21:04

Never ever admit to having a large arse

octo · 04/11/2007 21:05

Or is that a donkey ass sat on a fence - wait - I have an image of large scottish donkey sat on fence overlooking sunny Dumbarton

octo · 04/11/2007 21:07

Was up in Helensburgh at the weekend, also mad visiting in Langbank and tennis in Scotstoun

Rhubarb · 04/11/2007 21:10

Excuse me but you may find that the quote you chose to put in bold were not quotes taken from me but another person.

And I think I was proved right about people being arsey when taking the piss, even if the piss is in a lighthearted way.

Which you cannot argue with. Because we were not nasty at all on this thread, it was all good natured. I even offered some advice for post-natal mothers. So stop being so sensitive and touchy and have a laugh once in a while.

SharpMolarBear · 04/11/2007 21:10

My arse is tiny
In comparison
to some animals' arses
