Dylan starts crying if I sneeze in front of him, or if I start using an electric mixer. Although, if I sing "grand old duke of york" through the noise, he isnt too bad!

Dragonhart · 12/10/2007 22:18

Thank you for the thought Lizz, but I have taken them down now. Stupid birthdays. Suppose it is only another step closer to 30 so perhaps I should be glad.

hattie2 · 12/10/2007 22:26

DS also cries at loud noises - on hol this summer we went to the pub to watch some football (yawn, blame dh and fil). DS burst into tears every time there was a goal. DH reckoned it was because ds dislike Man Utd as much as he does - personally I used it as a good excuse to take ds and dd out of the pub and go shopping for a couple of hours.

Lizzzombie · 12/10/2007 22:30

DP was planning on taking Dylan to the emmerates stadium to watch a match in the next few weeks with a couple of his mates. (WTF?!!? I was saying nothing!) when he rang the stadium to ask if he could bring a buggy in, they said it was £25 for a baby. He has changed his mind.
Phew!
Can you actually imagine taking a 9 month to a football game. He would go MENTAL and you'd see none of the game at all.

eandh · 13/10/2007 06:23

Lizz good luck for today

as you can see another stupid early start and neither of them slept well ellie fell asleep in the car from 6-7pm then woke up bringing her in thought she'd settle herself as it was so quiet but she was upstairs wide awake and didnt go back to sleep till 9.45pm and hattie was up a couple of times gave in at 4.30 and put some milk in her cot but she was up at 6. PIL have them tonight and although they have almost had neice/nephew every weekend since they were born this will be 2nd time mine have stayed and I know its going to be a nightmare as ellie will either fall asleep today and not be tired tonight or be as grmpy as anything and hattie will wake god knows how many tumes.

Am wondering whether its worth it as can't drop them off till 3.30-4 and have to pick then up by 9.15am as pil have plans so just wondering if to leave dh's birtday meal and he can go (if it was my parents then I'd leave them regardless as they are always staying there and I wouldnt have to collect them till the afternoon)

WeeWitchyWilkie · 13/10/2007 07:39

EAH - let them go and have a good night's sleep!!!! It will do you and DH good. And if they play up it is PILs problem not yours

Lizz - good luck for today. Hope you have a croydon facelift so you will 'fit in'.

We are going to a working farm today with me, BF and her LO, M&D and the DTs. Am really looking forward to it.

J was up at 4.00am for a cuddle! and

He's also not eating. Wonder why. He doesn't seem poorly.

UD/2Happy - you're not gonna be these weirdie parents wth 5 year old children hanging off your boobs are you??? Please say no!??

I must get my secret santa sorted

2HappyFrighteningPeople · 13/10/2007 08:30

Good luck, Lizz!

Your day sounds nice Wilkie. Haven' decided what I'm up to. E back to sleep. I've just been moving things in the kitchen from open shelves that Ellen can now reach - to a more secure position so we don;t have smashed jars, dented tins etc. I will have to replace them with plastic, Ellen friendly items.........

Think we will go to cheap shop to buy more small plastic boxes so I can Ellen cook for the freezer later. That will mean a trip to supermakret too. WOuld also like to go to nearby outlet to try to look for bargains. I have spent a lot of money this week though. Ooops.

E&H I would send e&h to PILs too. Enjoy your meal!

Lizz I have coffee every night before bed, have switched to decaf though. And the cake was delia's preserved ginger cake. Mum made it and it is YUM (RGee will vouch for it)

DH - happy food processing!!!!

eandh · 13/10/2007 08:47

well taken your advice and going to send them there, I suppose he thing that annoys me is if they have a bad night then I'm either made to feel guilty or they don't say anything to us but say to other people about how many times they were up. I shouldnt feel guilty cause neice was a nightmare sleeper and shes always there. The other thing is that Ellie doesnt want to go (she kicked off last time at 4am that she wanted to come home, she wants to stay at my parents who would have her but they are always having and now can't say to pil about them not going - oh well not my problm and they'll only be there 18 hours and could possibly sleep 11/12 of those!!

Wilkie sounds lovely am very as just me and the dd's today and everyone is at work

WeeWitchyWilkie · 13/10/2007 08:53

Aw great news. My sister's SIL who lost her baby last year at 4 days old to GBS has just had a healthy boy

Vino - c'mon, own up, you are just desperate to own more tupperware

laughalot · 13/10/2007 09:19

Eah you dont think h is having probs do you because youve put her on cows milk ? I aint no expert though so just ignore my blond statments. As with regards to going out get gone and stuff what pil say the offered so take advantage. And if e kicks off tonight stick her on the national express bus to mansfield ill sort her out .

Dh sorry you dident get loads of cards why dont you blend some crap up and chuck it in the postmans face when you see him im sure you will feel better .

Wilks sounds like a nice day you have planned iv been meaning to text you for about 3 months here does time go ?

Lizz hope your day goes well I love that shop

My dh is at work till 12 30 and then is going to watch the england match with his mate at the pub, that means he will say he will be in at 5 and he will rock in around 9. I will be so pissed off might have to order a chinese for 1.

Right im off to spend some money on amazon for a few more xmas pressies

WeeWitchyWilkie · 13/10/2007 09:40

EAH - LAL has a good point. Could be the problem with H??

eandh · 13/10/2007 09:51

had thought of that but she refuses all formula (tried sma/c&g/aptamil) in desperation even went back to stage 1 milk but she won't touch the stuff. Not sure if its teeth(there is a bottom incisor cutting through i think) or if its habit now, the other thing is that she calms down if I put her baby lightshow on so maybe its the pitch black when she wakes, cant have a plug in nightlight as plug sockets are behind furniture but may get a night lamp or something.

Shes been better in the last few nights when I have just given her a bottle of milk in her cot and she drinks it and then gets her dummy and goes back to sleep so it could be hunger i suppose (thought I'd know the answers 2nd time round!)

LAL - dh sounds so similar to mine what a shame he is working all day and oooo what a coincendence that I booked his meal for tonight (can't think why I did that !!)

Wilkie - just seen your text and read about ds sil at same time - fab news and wishing them lots of love

Ellie has just informed me that my 'puffs' (her word for farts) stink how nice of her (its all the bloody veg/fibre I have been eating on this diet!!)

eandh · 13/10/2007 09:53

and I am very proud of myself as just done 2 french plaits down the side of ellie's hair without shouting at her to sit still I want her to let me practice a a'fish'tail plait but she won't let me

gobletofblood · 13/10/2007 12:54

What is a fish tail plait E&H?
I'm sitting downstairs and can hear E is awake in the monitor but no cries yet so leaving her there. I'm finding her hard work at the moment and shouting at her which I instantly regret espec when she smiles at me

DH not gonna be at work al day which is good poss home in an hour and has told me to escape for a bit. I need to but it makes me want to cry too cos I feel like I can't cope with her all over again. Hoping all this up and downness of my moods will pass

Managed to lower the cot myself earlier so was v pleased with myself although there was a lot of huffing and pufing involved as well as Ellen under my feet. Hoping DH wil be impressed as he didn;t even think there was a third position.

Wilkie - yes of course I need more tupperware! A mate brought me some shreddies and cheerios for ellen to try yesyerday and each lot was in a lovely tub so am after some of those - from in store apparently so will be cheapo.

gobletofblood · 13/10/2007 12:55

LAL yu are too orgabnsied. I keep thinking of xmas but not got any pressies yet

WeeWitchyWilkie · 13/10/2007 14:16

Well the farm was a great success (not) - J has a tummy bug and spewed everywhere so we went home. He then spewed in the car and has just chundered all over the kitchen floor. Feel mean mummy now cos yesterday this was obviously coming hence the cretin child! Am I really terrible that I am terrified of catching it? I don't do being sick.

laughalot · 13/10/2007 15:07

Aaah wilks hugs for j I hate being sick too.

Vino it is perfectly normal to have off days I find it hard but Aidan tends to take the brunt of my shouting even though its Lauren who is annoying me. Its all part and parcel of being a mummy they do say this is a hard time when they are on the move ect.

Dragonhart · 13/10/2007 20:09

Wilkie- poor j Luke has had 2 tummy bugs and I didnt catch either of them, despite him chucking up all over me and having to clean it all up! Just make sure you use disinfectant and wash your hands loads. Hope he is ok tonight.

Have been trying to ask dbro if he has played at Chester but he has been working ridiculous hours. Will try him on MSN tonight and let you know. He has just changed his golf club to one in crewe, but has been playing loads so might have had a go there.

Bunny- ment to say last message that the pear was just a ripe pear cut into quarters. It was very juicy so easy to munch on. There is a new pic in my profile of her eating it!

Lizzzombie · 13/10/2007 20:14

hullo!

eah - wow - get you, fish tails and french plaits. I am impressed....and think I will grow DJ's hair long so I can do it too!

wilkie - wore my best croydon face lift. fitted in fine....
BUT I HATE MY JOB

I came home at lunchtime and was in tears. Its really really hard work and physical. And the customers are mainly really horrid and nasty. (I am sure all of us who shop there are lovely)

The worst bit is that there is no staff discount.
I mean!
WTF?!
what is the point of working somewhere where there is no staff discount! Its ridiculous. Apparently the clothes are cheap enough already. Hmm....not when you are on MINIMUM WAGE they are not.

Need to find a nice little office job for a couple of days a week and I will be happy.
But right now, I am very very

Enjoy the rugby everyone! x

Lizzzombie · 13/10/2007 20:15

ps.
hope J is better soon.
poor little sick baby. not nice.

But wonderful news about your SIL. x

Dragonhart · 13/10/2007 20:18

Oh dear Lizz. New jobs are always hard to start with. Maybe it will get better? If not hope you find something else soon. xxx

Sorry Wilkie, missed the news about your SIL. Great news for them.

2HappyFrighteningPeople · 13/10/2007 20:28

Eah - hope you somehow magicallyget a better night tonight
Wilkie - eurgh, other people's vomit. Am v lucky, ds1 has only been sick once (and was straight after some water + calpol so was fairly innocuous pinky sticky vomit!), but dread the day he has D&V, yuk yuk yuk. I hate vomiting too, don't blame you for not wanting to catch it. Hope he gets better quickly. Oh, and no, I doubt I'll have a kid hanging off my tits at the age of 5 (mostly because if I fed them that long, my tits'd be at my knees by then, so no hanging needed ). Great news about your sil.
Vino - I second what Lal said, ds1 does bear the brunt of my bad moods, it's a real shame. And the more tetchy I am, the more tetchy he is, and we just wind each other up . But don't beat yourself up about it, we all do it.
Lizz - I think you need the wine more tonight than you did last night! It doesn't sound like a good day - the customers were awful - but what about the people you're working with? Any of them ok? And no staff discount?!
No news here, dses both still have the lurgy, keeping me up at night, I sound like I'm on 30 a day too. Ho hum, nothing to say.... I'm sure long hair is a really bad idea if you play international rugby

2HappyFrighteningPeople · 13/10/2007 20:29

DH - cooked anything good in your food processor today?!

OP posts:
RGEEnie · 13/10/2007 20:35

Lizz hope you came home with a bottle of red wine.

I've just got back from work too - a Saturday I tell you - meeting in London. Wish I'd gone to see Shimmer instead of the meeting. On the bright side, did crack open some booze on the train home.

BTW, good programme on tv BBC2 tomorrow night at 9pm. I'll not say anymore.

Better go and speak to DH now.
