I think all that talk of superheroes made us all a bit feisty

Sorry your LO isn't well Elsbells. Hope you don't need the ABs, and that if you do they work quickly and all is well soon. Sorry I can't really advise on you feeling out of sorts, but hope you feel better soon.

Anyone got good plans for the weekend?

IamDaisy · 12/10/2007 18:27

elsbells, your poor DD . I hope she gets better soon, and doesn't need the ABs.

I'm off duty...wey hey

although DS who has been a wee trooper all afternoon started to have a meltdown as soon as his dad walked in the door . I wonder what it's all about?

Elsbells · 12/10/2007 18:33

Thanks all....so anyone have any grand plans for the weekend?

I got DH to do dinner tonight as he is home early.

Don't you feel like ever going on strike just to see how our DH's can cope?

Spking of strikes...er, where is my post?

Better go see how dinner is coming along.

May pop in later to c who is about.
x

I'm going to pack for my holidays this weekend. We're not going till Thursday, but if I don't do it when DHh is here, I'll never get it done!

And we may go for a walk in the woods if the weather stays nice. It's been t-shirt warm here today.

IamDaisy · 12/10/2007 18:41

udderleyfoxy · 12/10/2007 18:59

if this doesn't pick you up, nothing will

IamDaisy · 12/10/2007 19:02

I was reading that all yesterday foxy....hilarious, until nine o'clack last night when a troll came out of nowhere and started being really nasty. They were quickly outed by MNHQ and banned though!

bumperlicious · 12/10/2007 19:42

omg that thread was hilarious! but what was that troll poster saying that was so bad?

my bt vision is still broken. farking bt. missing loads of crap tv, & good stuff too that i haven't got round to watching. i'd really gotten used to recording stuff and watching it in my own time at the click of a button.

udderleyfoxy · 12/10/2007 19:51

Bumper, I've been trying to email you today, but everytime I sit down and type a couple of lines something (someone!) stops me. Will get to it.

I've just done something I've not done for 4 months

had a hot bath, on my own, with my bubbles, undisturbed.

If only I had a nice cold glass of sauvigon blanc life would be perfect!

IamDaisy · 12/10/2007 19:58

bumper, the troll was basically being very abusive. It had been sent a link via e-mail had registered, read that one thread and proceeded to call everyone snobby stuck up biatches with no life. Of course the more it was laughed at the angrier it got and more abusive.....it was still going when I went to bed.

IamDaisy · 12/10/2007 19:59

sounds like a lovely bath foxy.

fairyfay · 12/10/2007 19:59

Hi all, faylisa here

Had a scarey afternoon - took DD to docs about her cough. There was only one seat left in waiting room so we sat down, next to a bloke who smelt of booze, but seemed ok. Then he leant down and scratched his leg and I noticed a knife in his sock - we're talking large serrated kitchen knife!

I made excuses about going to get DD more books and moved to a now vacant seat and sat and panicked. Didn;t know what to do - I wanted to go and tell the receptionists but was scared of leaving DD and Ds or drawing his attention to me. Thankfully someone else had clearly seen it as the police burst into the waiting room and took him away.

It really frightened me. I thought that nothing like that happened here, although I suppose it shows that it can happen anywhere.

Elsbells · 12/10/2007 20:15

OMG Faylisa - wtf?? Guess it wasn't the greatest outings to the GP's. Shit.

fairyfay · 12/10/2007 20:19

It really shook me up. Is that a good excuse for a large G&T and a curry?!

udderleyfoxy · 12/10/2007 20:23

Several large G&Ts I think.

That is scary stuff. Hope you aren't too shaky, makes me shudder just thinking about it.

Elsbells · 12/10/2007 20:24

Bumper, how are all your classes going?
I have finally signed up for baby massage for DD starting in Nov. I did it with DS and loved it.

I see that you are trying to meet some local mom's
yes I am american, been trying to keep that quiet

Anyway, have you joined your local NCT postnatel group? When I had DS a couple of years ago I so wanted to meet local mothers. I joined the local NCT group. A local mom would host a tea party weekly and people would just pitch up w/their baby. I began meeting the same women weekly and we started going to the same baby groups, walks etc together and before I knew it I befriended about 8 other women with DC's roughly the same age and we all still hang out together. A few of us now have 2nd DC's too. I think without them (now and back then) I would have gone insane.

I also did an NCT antenatel class but tbh, I am only friends with one of the girls now (everyone really lived too far away and we started drifting especially when some of us went back to work) BUT she is a really really good friend so that is nice.

Gosh I have just written an essay. Sorry

IamDaisy · 12/10/2007 20:24

bloody hell fay...did you tell the doctor when you got in to see him?

I hope DDs cough is better soon. there is a lot of lurgy about at the moment...nice warm weather excellent for bugs.

Elsbells · 12/10/2007 20:25

I say forget the curry after that experience. Straight to the gin.

fairyfay · 12/10/2007 20:26

The thing is that I live in a 'nice' area - I hadn't really thought before how scarey it would be to live in a not-so-nice one, iyswim.

IamDaisy · 12/10/2007 20:26

oooh elsbells...we have another american here too, Lilkel, although she hasn't been around for what seems like aaaages, but is probably only two weeks.
