Bethoo I'm a master of doing things by half so, if I were you I would keep stringing him along but don't be so soft and do your thing while enjoying the good things about your partner. As long as he is not abusing you or bringing you down(?) he may grow up, your relationship may grow...commitment can be a slow process. Or if not you will meet someone else in time.
That's just my view though, because I waited for years for dh and we still aren't together properly and I could have chucked him and be with someone different now but I can't imagine that, I have no regrets.

Still no periods here but I do get pmt (alot)

Rosylily · 06/11/2007 12:05

oops

bethoo · 06/11/2007 12:42

Rosy - i like your idea, must confess i was thinking along those lines. i guess my expectations of him are too high! he is only a man afterall!

kittycrackles · 06/11/2007 14:39

Bethoo, just had second af, it was on day 38 something like that. I had pmt for over 2 weeks though . It can take a good few months for your cycle to settle down when you're still feeding.
Had a horrible morning at playgroyup. Dd3 bit 2 children really badly on the cheeks.
It was like watching Christopher lee in action, fangs bared. I burst into tears and felt like the most shite mother in the world.

muppetoffeeapple · 06/11/2007 19:44

I still haven't had any af ... are we the only ones rosy?? can't remember now whether foxy got hers or not!
bethoo... that's a nightmare about your parents liking him... sounds like he can turn on the charm when he wants!

It's very quiet here isn't it!

Piffle · 06/11/2007 20:15

My PMT was grim this time last week, was spoonfeeding Finn and nearly lost it with him had to go outside and let ds1 watch him - really freaked myself out and got a grip and gave myself a slap.
Getting angry over baby feeding
So now have written down dates and will be forearmed and forewarned, as will the rest of the household.
Well a house has come up in the gorgeous village that dd goes to school in, it is bigger than ours (not as nice if you like very new houses (Lucky I don't) cheaper than ours and 10 doors away from the school (same side) village has a nursrery, preschool, fish monger and a pub(next to the school handily)
It is however on the main A15 road although in a well respected and obeyed on the whole 30mph limit. DP looked aghast when I sprung this on him, estate agent around tomorrow HE HEE
if I pull this one off I'll be astounded

DeathBySnooSnoo · 06/11/2007 21:46

piffle-i suppose PMT does allow you to get things done though,eh

i used to write down my dates, now i have a detailed diary of all my symptoms and cycles dating back to the start of july

bethoo-my mother liked my xp,so i dont trust her judgement when it comes to men.she still thought he was great for about 4 years after i dumped him(depite knowing he had been beating the crap out of me).
it does sound as though your dp is getting the message now though if he is saying you are both important to him etc.he probably has issues with saying how he really feels, and if thats the case then it may be well worth following rosy's advice

i never found a non-existant social life was a problem when meeting men myself.i met dh without having to leave the house.let them come to you

mossy-that contentious thread was the one about that JW lady who died after giving birth to twins.i posted something about the bible not being entirely accurate and legged it.i'm not going to tell ds2 that father christmas doesnt exist, but i'm not going to say he will be bringing presents either.i just cant bring myself to bullshit like that.

dd1's tooth fell out the other night(well,'fell' with alot of help i think)and i said 'leave it on the shelf and take 50p out of my purse'.

Evenhope · 06/11/2007 22:27

muppet no af here either, thank goodness.

DS2 has taken to calling DD retard. He then demonstrated that although she doesn't answer to her name she does actually respond when someone calls "retard". Must practice her name a bit more. Bless her, she adores him. Lucky she doesn't understand what he's saying.

She's crawling properly now.

LunarScream · 06/11/2007 22:40

muppet - still no af here either.

kittycrackles · 06/11/2007 22:41

Welll DD3 has been up to more horrors ( after fang bearing). She's trashed the kitchen. broken boxes of eggs on the floor and poured water everywhere. Does anyone want to buy a nearly 2 year old?

fitfox · 06/11/2007 22:45

Am lurking..
at DD3 Kitty

See you all tomorrow

Rosylily · 07/11/2007 06:24

Cor, I'm sick of getting up at 5.30am. ds2 climbed into my bed and wet it

Kitty you poor thing you've got a handfull. She is only a baby though, it'll pass, hang on in there.

Well at christmas with us, santa leaves a sock full of
rubbish cute bits and pieces and everyone gets main pressies after dinner. When asked about santa I talk about the story of the original St Nicholas.
My sisters, mother and myself all contribute to all the socks and if anyone asks I say it's a secret and it's magical. As the older children have learnt the whole story they want to join in, contribute to the socks etc. And everyone gets a sock...actually my mother has even knitted everyone a brightly coloured sock! sigh, I love christmas, santa still comes to me

kittycrackles · 07/11/2007 07:23

mine still all believe in the tooth fairy and santa. I think it's lovely, even the nine year old.

kiwibella · 07/11/2007 08:56

my big girl still believes too... although I question her innocence. It is lovely but, as others have said, it would be easier if she knew the "truth". Recently she found one of her teeth and decided to put it under her pillow in the hope that the tooth fairy would visit again!

I think that Christmas is so magical. The christmas lights in Oxford St are being turned on tonight .

A big warm hug to you Kitty and your dd!! You know its a stage and she will be as delightful as the rest of your beautiful children soon.

We are home today - Kate is poorly with bronchiolitis. Thankfully, she is infectious so it will mean that she has to stay away from the nursery for a few days - meaning mama gets to stay home too. A few days enforced rest .

Cooincidentally, I resigned from my job as I left work early yesterday. I was trying to catch my boss all day Monday! He makes my blood boil and said how he was expecting it blah, blah... there's nothing like making your work feel worthwhile.

Anyways... I have been having my period for a few months now. The first two or three cycles were about 40 days but I just had another recently and I think it was about three weeks? It's mad.

Evenhope !!! Bless your special children .

bethoo · 07/11/2007 09:49

thanks i am reassured now that my cycle will eventually return to normal. getting cramps but will not see sign of af for another bloody week or two! so it means i am bloated for alot longer!!!!

still not seen dp since he dropped me off on sunday though he is being very good. he says he will give me all hte space i need as he will wait. bless

Piffle · 07/11/2007 09:59

bethoo, maybe you've hit the point where it can all go tits up or happily ever after... har dnot knowing but good luck sorting your feelings out in peace

Ahh now you see ds1 now13 was so scientific from birth (I kid you not) he has never fallen for Santa not one jot and has ruined it for hundreds of kids in his life (despite my telling him not to)
Now dd 5 believes FC and all that shoite, I have told him in no uncertain terms, if he ruins it for her I may well ruin his own childbearing prospects

I am sure she will go hook line and sinker for the tooth fairy too...

Bloody estae agent has cancelled today - all that tidying for nothing

bethoo · 07/11/2007 10:05

i do not know if i will ever mention santa to little one. i remember the devastation it caused in our family when we were all told he did not exist! maybe honesty is the best policy but then little ones need magic and all that hoohah dont they! never thought i would ever have to make this specific decision.
will not go on about dp as boring. only when it is FINALLY over for good.
has anyone ever gone speed dating or considered? i would like to experience it more for fun than looking ofr life partner!
deathbysnoosnoo - how did you meet dh then?

bethoo · 07/11/2007 12:21

just fot my af so that is day 35 so going down! sadly i am at work and do not finish for another two hours, just hope i do nto flood beforethen! sorry if TMI!!!!

Evenhope · 07/11/2007 13:08

bethoo at least you won't have another week of being bloated

Put DD to play in her cot while I sorted out the airing cupboard. Looked up in time to see her hauling herself to her feet. She can stand! (Photos on FB). DH has only just put the cot mattress down to the middle level, and it was quite a performance. Looks like it'll have to go down to the bottom one or she'll be over the top.

(why did we bother with an adjustable base?!)

bethoo · 07/11/2007 13:42

evenhope- blimey that is early! i am finding it a nightmare now that he can commando shuffle everywhere! no animal is safe in our house!
evenhope - have not got you as friend on fb so cannot view your pics or can i?
only 20 mins to go! should i go to the gym or not as really not in the mood now that af is here! but then i ate loads of rubbish this morning as i had ot spend a fiver so i could get cash back as a friend needed to borrow money! why do people think i am a loan shark for goodness sake!!!

DeathBySnooSnoo · 07/11/2007 13:52

bella-poor little kate.glad shes ok now.bronchiolitis is horrible.at least you get to spend lots of time with her though.

piffle-my dd1 has always been the questioning type and started to figure out that FC may not be real when she was 3 and we went through the trafford centre then into asda.she said 'mum, how can father xmas be in selfridges and asda at the same time?'.i tried the old 'they are his helpers' line but she wouldnt leave it.she tried to tell ds1 when he was about 6 but he didnt believe her.he still wont accept that the tooth fairy isnt real!

this is the child who,at the age of 4,asked how her little brother got into my tummy, and when i said '(xh)put him there' she said 'but how did he put him there?'.i ended up showing her diagrams from a sheila kitzinger book when i was pregnant with dd2.

lol,the other day she asked me if they sell fake willies in sex shops

rosy-are you addicted to buggies also?i have 3 tandem ones now,and i hate them all,so am looking for a side-by-side one.my 3 wheeler tandem one was ok for a while but the front wheel is possesed again now and i am constantly swearing while pushing it.

DeathBySnooSnoo · 07/11/2007 13:54

evenhope- at standing baby already!

bethoo-i just got my af.its day 25 for me!welcome to the MN collective menstrual cycle

kittycrackles · 07/11/2007 15:56

Someone on another thread suggested I put vinegar on dd3's tongue when she bites. She bit Ronnie's toestoday so I put it on her tongue, she laughed and ran away. I asked her if she wanted some more. She wagged her finger and said 'no'

Rosylily · 07/11/2007 15:57
