Baby should be fed every 4 hours at 3,7,11,3,7,11 when newborn. 'It' should not be held close when feeding, no eye contact, only 10 mins cuddle time per day, put in pram in garden with door shut and left to cry till next feed. So yes, hours or until the baby loses all hope of mummy and daddy coming and gives up. So it does work, the baby will sleep I guess but its utterly heart breaking

StealthPolarBear · 26/09/2007 14:11

the parents were sobbing into their glass of wine while the babies were crying on their own
oooggs - that hurt I may not mind the cold but I get ill in the rain [wimp]

StealthPolarBear · 26/09/2007 14:12

I wonder if she (CV) is allowed a drink more often than 4 hours if she fancies one?

OP posts:
mammyjo · 26/09/2007 14:29

I am sure she does have a drink more than every 4 hours. The sad thing is that the parents have lost those precious moments with their newborn forever. I feel quite sad that those days are gone never to return, but I can look back fondly knowing I made the most of F at that stage. Did any of them actually say "enough is enough" or were they too scared to go against her regime?

oooggs · 26/09/2007 14:31

rain - it hasn't stopped here all day, but true dry & cold is better than wet & warm

StealthPolarBear · 26/09/2007 14:48

it's really cold, have just put heating on
mj, no, so far they've gone along with it, just been upset, but believe "it's for his own good"

bumble75 · 26/09/2007 15:39

It's coooooooooooold! Poor dh, little did he realise that marrying an Aussie would cost him so much in heating over the years, even more so now I'm home most days!

Watched some of Bringing up Baby but had to change the channel when the big sister of one of the poor Claire Verity babies said to her mum she just wanted to cuddle the baby (when it was outside in the pram) ... broke my heart and I cried.

CD hope you're feeling better sweetheart, I know what you mean, my mum asked what I wanted for my b'day and I replied 'A week off'. Immediately felt guilty as I love L to bits, think SPB is right with the foot/hair example!

Oooggs - hope wee Jack is doing better soon

Had a lovely catch up with Luce & Liath this afternoon, lovely to see you both and your gorgeous babies & toddlers - they're so scrummy!

Eddas · 26/09/2007 16:18

only read the first post that my screen went to, was oooggs 'weher did the time go?' anyone else start to sing along to me too when they read that or just me

'where did it all go wrong?, where did the time go? I've gotta do it, i've gotta do it'

I MUST STOP WATCHING CBEEBIES [grn]

Right off to read the rest of the thread

Afternoon everbody.
Now i can't remember have i been on since thursday?

I am not too sure, but I will bore you with the detalis of what has been going on round here.

Seems that dd1 decided that she wanted to share her cold wiht the dt's so on friday night I was up all night cause they couldn't breathe, so I was boiling water and putting vapour rub into it when ever it cooled down.
Then when dh wne tot the car on saturday morning the driverside window was smashed, FKing little B*Ds round here (can't wait to move!)
So I had to cancell our anniversary dinner and we had to go to the town here, it was ok but I wanted MY FANCY dinner!!!!!

Now dh has man flu and the dt's are still really unsettled.

But on a brighter note I had a call from homestart people and they are sneding me a helper (after being on the waitig list for 6 months)

Hope all is well in the land of mn, i will try and make more of an effort next time I am on.

KHIN, sorry to hear about the car window. Just dont understand why the idiots get such a buzz out of damaging other peoples property. Arseholes Good news about homestart though!

Can I ask the breast feeders a question please? I have read somewhere that bf babies will need vitamin supplements when they reach 6 months old. Anyone know if this is true? Wasnt an issue for me with ds as he was ff from early on. Just wondered as F will be 6 months old this Friday.

See you later

busywithIzzy · 26/09/2007 18:08

Hi Mammyjo I believe that is the case. HV told me they need some form of multi vitamin from 6 months...soemthing to do with iron stores I think

PillockOfTheCommunity · 26/09/2007 18:43

yep, iron stores start to decrease from 6 months

busywithIzzy · 26/09/2007 18:48

Sorry to jump it with just that...I hadn't caught up the was for my knowledge by the wat not the depleting iron stores.
