Hey ladies.

Mav - you are doing grand - I'm sure your mum will be great with N - for what its worth I would try and never wake a sleepy baby unless you HAD to... they always wake grouchy....

We give C his FF at around 7, and most of the time he sleeps through til 5 now, as it fills him up..

Gotta go... grouchy babay alert...

sleepbabysleep · 28/09/2007 15:50

thanks girls

That reminds me.. are the formula feeders on stage 1 or 2 formula? All the stage 2 formula here says only for after 6 months but I´m just wondering if that´s because that is now the new weaning age? Just that my friend from home suggested a formula feed saying it might fill him up more and when I said it didn´t work last time we tried a while ago she said, yeah, but he´ll be on the heavier milk now.

octoandflash · 28/09/2007 15:57

you get normal formula from birth, hungry baby milk from birth and then follow on milk. I haven't ever bothered with follow on milk -just stuck to hungry baby formula.

Does anyone use Hipp organic formula btw? I noticed that it is £3 cheaper per box than aptimil ! Saving me about £12 a month if I change Obviously its good because its organic but I'm worried about changing formula

geordiemacminx · 28/09/2007 16:09

We used to use gold sma but changed to blue hungry baby quite a while ago...also we use the cartons that are already made up...much more convenient for the sake of 1 feed a day - think they are about 48p each?

sleepbabysleep · 28/09/2007 16:14

Well we bought the Nestle pre-made cartons. yes I know, I know, but it is the only make that I can find here that does pre-made cartons for stage 1. They are loads easier. When we were having trouble with bf-ing I bought a tin and we must have made only about 2 bottles out of it before it went out of date There´s loads of Hipp organic stuff here but not the pre made cartons which is a shame cos I´d like to try it..

Thanks Lucewheel - i definitely feel like it´s time to give him one ff a day, I guess we´ll play it by ear whether it´s the 7/8pm one or the dreamfeed. I think the constant feeding through the night is starting to weaken my fervour for breastfeeding. I want to keep going for the most part but don´t feel like a couple of ff a day will be a bad thing, unlike even a month ago where I just felt like I wanted to give him every feed myself.

Well it looks like I picked the right time to emerge from my lurking state - today we accepted an offer on our house and had one accepted on the property of our dreams! Therefore - I will need space to rant and panic and here looks quite cozy. Why is moving house so scary?

(And hello to anyone I didn't meet yesterday)

busywithIzzy · 28/09/2007 18:14

Hello Northern Lurker
Good luck with moving house.

Sexonlegs · 28/09/2007 18:18

Another house mover! SPB is moving too. Good luck!

All ok here, apart from dh delayed in Dublin. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Why they chose a Friday to meet up I don't know. He has been out of the house since 5.30 a.m. and will be back at 8.00 p.m.

Had a fellow mner around today with her little boy (1 yrs) Really lovely.

K has developed a fascination with labels! Really sweet - just plays with them/stares at them.

Hope you are all well and that Pillock makes it down South. Pants weather and traffic today.

Better head. Sorry for no personals - not much time to do owt!

octoandflash · 28/09/2007 19:03

Evening

Hello Northernlurker - I left mn due to my addiction but am now generally back!

Ernie in bed, boys watching tv ... peace

I wonder if Ellie has got there yet crap weather and traffic

AloPesha · 28/09/2007 19:05

Well Pillock still isn't here She's having a bitch of a time with the traffic and apparently is now trying to find an open petrol station. Feel really bad for her

mammyjo · 28/09/2007 19:08

SOL, hope the bedtime routine for B and K goes ok without dh to help out

Liath, thought I had emailed you (but may have used wrong address ). Will email again as I want to be in secret santa please!

Maveta, just go with what you feel is right re the feeding. With regard to your mum, just try and let things go over your head. I used to get stressed with MIL when she did/fed things to ds that I didnt feel totally happy with. Asked til I was blue in the face and it got me nowhere so try very hard to turn a blind eye now! If the worst she does is let him sleep a bit more, then you are on to a winner!! You are doing a fab job, so dont think anything else!(And that's you told lady )

Octo, runny uses the hipp organic for W I think. As far as I know he has been fine with it.

mammyjo · 28/09/2007 19:09

Oh god, poor Ellie. Fingers crossed she arrives soon and safely. Hope M and J arent being too difficult for her. Know what its like to have yelling children in the car. No fun.

Sexonlegs · 28/09/2007 19:50

Hi there

Have just had the most shittiest time with the girls.

All was fine until B's friends came back at 6.30 asking to play (they are 10). I had to say no as it was time for bath. B went ballistic, screaming etc and scaring K who too started screaming. They were in the bath together finally and God knows what happened as I turned my back (stupid bloody me) and K is crying and B is crying. B starts screaming again which again scares K who is now crying hysterically.

This goes on and on. Then couldn't get the effing dvd or video player to work (B watches some of a film whist I give K her bottle), so B goes off on one again. Meanwhile K is screaming on her mat in the bathroom waiting for milk.

Get milk, go upstairs to feed K and then B appears at the door as she doesn't want to watch anything so sits in K's room. K goes mad, ie laughing and screaching with excitement.

So, Mammyjo, in answer to your kind post, it was a FUCKING fiasco. And if England lose the rugby tonight on top of all that, I am going to shoot myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry about that, but it really was awful.

Fortunately though, they both seem to be asleep now!!

Lots of love

Sexonlegs · 28/09/2007 20:12

Where are you all?? Have I scared you all off??

nappynuttynormabutty · 28/09/2007 20:17

I'm around. Sorry you've had such a bad evening .

Just about to have cheesecake mmmmmm yummy!!!

Eddas · 28/09/2007 20:27

SOl, sounds like a nightmare is all ok now? need wine?

Pesha, is pillock there yet. Poor thing getting stuck in traffic, bad enough on your own but with 2 kids in the car nasty.

Hi northernlurker, glad you decided to stop lurking

hi everyone i've missed, which is most of you

It's dh's birthday today, so we had our curry night and dd made me buy him a cake. she wore a party dress too, bless her.

DS is sitting up now, very wobbly still and only manages a few seconds, but if you're behind him he can stay up for quite a while. I'm now on the slippery slope to him moving

Sexonlegs · 28/09/2007 20:37

Hi there,

Had red wine already. Need another.

I am just so pissed off with it all. Most of it was pretend crying as well I am sure. The thing that makes me feel awful tho is that I said, when daddy gets back, I am leaving. B said, thru her sobs, "you can't leave, you're my mummy!"

Poor Pillock, hope she is ok. Friday's are hellish for travelling, but with 2 dc's as well.

Eddas, hope you dh is having a good b.day - sounds like it!!

octoandflash · 28/09/2007 20:37

Any sign of Ellie? Will text her.

octoandflash · 28/09/2007 20:41

She is still on the A303 Poor thing - what a hideous day for her.

mammyjo · 28/09/2007 20:47

Oh SOL, I must have jinxed you by posting that!! Glad they are sleeping now. England doing ok so far, although Tonga playing relatively well. (Not that this matters to me particularly being a welsh bird!) I only know what is happening as dh is watching.

Nutty, enjoy the cheesecake!
