Must give in now and go to bed. Night all

derlor · 21/09/2007 22:56

DG - i think way too much pressure is put on women here too, it should be a personal, non-judgemental choice but unfortunately it's not. So sad.

derlor · 21/09/2007 23:07

i'm off to bed, night all x

Charlie999 · 22/09/2007 06:45

How I wish I was still in bed....DD is banging at her cot activity thingy and DH is snoring his bloody head off....I've been up an hour....and I'm doing the first stint of driving from here to Reading services...fucking hell....I'm knackered...

Have a good week everyone

Hang in there Daisy & Bumper.....I really feel for you both....no opinions here as I FF...but I have to say preparing bottles really isn't a faff...takes 30 mins a day and costs me £4.98 a week....

Charlie999 · 22/09/2007 06:48

Oh and is a lot less stressful as well by the sounds of it

I knew it was Steven in Eastenders as well....

Who said Citaopram makes anxiety worse? That's what I was put on - FOR anxiety ....told you my GP was useless....

Right off for a shower and I must TURN PC OFF...god how am I gonna cope without MN for a whole week????

Wow, had an evening off to chat with PILs and then it takes me an age to even so a skim read catch up!

Just got to say Daisy and Bumper, I think you're both being AMAZING with your BF. It's obviously not being easy for you and you keep on going. Personally, I'm having it pretty easy with the feeding, the worst I've had to cope with is a couple of cuts where her sharp fingernails have dug into the breast, which just reminds me to trim her nails, and painful norks when she sleeps for a long time, which is a small price to pay for a good night's sleep. You guys keep reminding me how lucky I am. And NEVER feel bad about letting off steam here, as someone said, if it does ever momentarily get too much for us, it's fairly easy for us to switch off for a little bit, and there's enough of us that someone will alsways be "listening". And I want to add support to the "do what is right for YOU" line of thought. I do think if a woman can BF and is happy to do so it is great and is best for the baby, but think too much pressure is put on mums to do so AT ANY COST.

Anyway, dinner with ILs was good, and amazingly DD slept through until 6.15am so we're all well rested and hoping for a happy smiley day after yesterday's grizzles.

riabutterflew · 22/09/2007 11:15

morning all. i have made small achievements already today so am just having a little time on the computer

i am still coming down from my ds1 stresses. little git.

we have just had our second night without ds2 in bed between us, all we need now is a new matress for a decent nights sleep. i have to confess i told him santa emailed us regularly to check he was being good and sleeping in hisown bed. it's working so far! i have bought reward stickers now though...

Hi Ladies

Sorry I've been AWOL - DH has been away since last Saturday and I've just been too knackered to type!!!!

I feel I should come clean to you all.....

I now only bf for the first feed of the day, and I ff the rest.

This works for me...
I was miserable doing bf all the time for various reasons and it suddenly dawned on me that the only reason I was doing it was to 'look' like I really loved my baby! I know this sounds sooooo stupid because it has nothing to do with how much I love my baby!!!
I was fretting on about doing and being seen to be doing the 'best for my baby' which I realise now - was stupid.
It dawned on me that it is more important to be 'happy' and enjoy each other to the max before I have to go back to work.

I also have to confess that I use disposable nappies.......but thats cos I'm lazy!!!!!

justbeme · 22/09/2007 13:33

Just off to see a friends wedding as they come out the church (we're going to the evening do tonight)

Sorry - but Nappy question!!
L Did her 1st poo in her Little Lambs - - now why was I so keen to try reuseables?
so Im dry pailing the nappies - whats the max time you'd dry pail for? (as in 1 day or 2 days etc)
also Should the nappy and wrap be leaving elastic marks on her legs - very noticeable - I know they have to be tight so they dont leak - but just wondered if maybe this type doesnt "suit" her body shape?

Thanks
Be back later to catch up !!

riabutterflew · 22/09/2007 13:34

hi dkma.

it's too darned quiet on here today

riabutterflew · 22/09/2007 13:37

sorry jbm i can't answer that. i use tescos disposables, but looking at my laundry basket this morning i remember why

riabutterflew · 22/09/2007 14:46

can i just think "out loud" as it were?

I think i will have to go back to working as a school dinner lady. (serves me right for not having a proper career). DH seriously thinks he won't be going back to work after next week as planned and possibly never back to cooking. i know it's not dhs fault that a)he had to have the operation, b) that he still hasn't been paid from his last job, c) that the bank still haven't managed to get his money to him after it being awol for almost 2 years, but just now i am starting to resent him for it. m thinking of going back to school because i know there is a vacancy, i have worked there before, and it's not enough money to affect dhs incapacity benefit but would make a small difference at home. i think it also wouldn't harm to leave baggins for an hour every day. DH has applied for 1 non-cooking job and now appears to have given up.

i am an evil heartless bitch i know, but my coping skills are getting worn down and i want to run away and cry

riabutterflew · 22/09/2007 14:50

and i HATE living on benefits because people "look at you".

i gave up many opportunities that i would have loved to have to support him in his career because he is talented and passionate about his work. he has been shafted by so many of his employers. i feel short-changed.

ARSE. i think there must be something in the water this week...

Jamantha · 22/09/2007 15:33

JBM, can only speak from my experience, and I'm not such a nappy addict as some () but here's what i know about these things.

I dry pail, and wash once a day, so they never wait more than 1 day in the bucket, but the woman we bought off said washing every other day was OK (I think you might want to add some tea tree oil to the bucket though to help the smell?). And our DD does get marks on her legs sometimes, depending on which wrap we've used and now she's getting towards growing out of the small diddy diapers we got, she sometimes gets marks round her waist too.

You may have already seen this, but this is the site of the woman we bought nappies from, and I found it very useful when we were looking into cloth nappies.

Jamantha · 22/09/2007 15:35

and Ria - you are NOT an evil heartless bitch. Otherwise, how could you love your DC as much as you do? I know things aren't going so well at the moment, but you're doing a good job, hang in there - and come on here for a moan as and when required!
