Bumper - glad you're sounding a bit better today x
TA - are you getting paid to chat on MN - COOL JOB!!!!!
DH has just left for Southampton so that's me alone with 3 LO's till Saturday evening

daisyandbabybootoo · 27/09/2007 10:20

ria, get thee to the shops woman...it'll do you good!

have fun at the zoo mhc...and i hope the pils aren't too arsey today. maybe when you get there you can suggest they go off and do things at their own pace (ie out of your face) and meet them for your lunch? I love edinburgh zoo....we used to be members and were there at least once a fortnight when DS was little.

bumper...i hope things are better today and that you are taking things easy.

Got the DCs passports today . We can go on holiday now.....wey hey!

your lie-in sounds lovely BZ....wish I could get one here.

We have had a horrible morning, got up late, rushed around, DS got stroppy as I was trying to feed emily and get him oranised at the smae time and the poor wee mite (DD) never had a proper feed. I still feel wound up and I left him at school over an hour ago!

I'm going to finish feeding DD, do my FLYing steps for today, then am off into town. I'm going to treat myself to something. Don't know what yet, but what else is the child benefit for . Will open DDs bank account today as well!

justbeme · 27/09/2007 10:29

Morning! Lucy is still asleep from last night!! - went to bed at 20:30, fed at 5ish ( I think) - and a couple of times since.
Her hands were FREEZING, so I couldnt bare to put her back into her moses basket , but she kicks me and keeps headbanging left and right (so Im abit tired!!)
Question:
What clothes/covers did your little ones have on them last night as it was so cold?
L only had a sleepsuit, a little sheet folded twice and a cellular blanket folded twice. it doesnt seem enough but thats more than enough on the recommended list.

riabutterflew · 27/09/2007 10:32

for once everyone is bathed and dressed (including me). haven't finished the packed lunch yet and DH is in his typical family outing bad mood. twunt. he could try helping instead of setting the video and sighing.

back tonight, prepare yourselves for a monster rant..have a good day everyone

derlor · 27/09/2007 10:41

JBM - DD sleeps in a sleepsuit, with either a baby sleeping bag OR a fleecy jumpsuit. if her hands are cold i put scratch mits on her too.
out heating is kept at a constant temp day and night so this helps a lot.
Mind you after such a mommoth sleep she can't be feeling too cold or she would surely have woken up?

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 27/09/2007 10:41

JBM - Ed was in a sleepsuit and a 2.5 tog grobag - he seemed just right!

daisyandbabybootoo · 27/09/2007 10:44

morning jbm...babyboo had her sleepsuit on and two blankets and she kicked them off so was just in her sleepsuit really. I'm assuming she was warm enough or she would've woken up.

I've got a couple of grobags though so may start putting her in one of those, but think she would only need a vest on in one of those at the minute

derlor · 27/09/2007 10:46

by eck Daisy - is it tropical down there in Leeds??? MINUS 2 degrees here this morning!!!!! bbbrrrrrrrrrr

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 27/09/2007 11:01

Yep - bloody cold here too!!!

daisyandbabybootoo · 27/09/2007 11:24

it was cold, but not that cold, i think.....but then again she is half yorkshire and is "bloody 'ard" as a result!

justbeme · 27/09/2007 11:28

Thanks for that - she woke up soon after posting and my reward? 5 mins after putting clean nappy on - one big mahoosive poo!
we havent got our heating on at the mo - have you?
and daisy - does your grobag have sleeves - cos u said just a vest under ? mine doesnt - havent tried it yet tho.

sputnik · 27/09/2007 11:28

Going chilly here too, not quite minus 2 yet though.

Pissed off because I've speent the morning rooting through boxes of baby clothes and still can't find the sleepsuits and socks that I now neeed and know are out there somewhere.

Baby Sputnik is really suffering with this cold and cough and just wants cuddling. He's grisly, which is unlike him and his socks are too small.

I'm treading on eggshells with DD as she is in one of her easily upsettable moods. I had to spend 15 minutes calming her down after she flipped when I activated a baby toy - she is official switcher on of things in this house. I think she neeeds to poo. I am hostage to my child's bowel movements ffs.

foxybrown · 27/09/2007 11:39

Brrr, chilly here in my draughty house too!

How's everyone today?

Sorry to hear DD is still having pooing issues Sputnik, she has my sympathies (I still have my own issues from lo's birth, but I shall save you from that).

Lo broke her sleeping record last night, was up I don't know how many times, and I've yet to master feeding her without waking up myself.

JBM - she has a nighty which has fold-over bits on the sleeves to keep her hands warm. It was from Mothercare a couple of years ago if that helps.

Jamantha · 27/09/2007 11:55

Hi. Chilly here as well, but am trying not to put heating on just yet. Mind we had it on most of the day yesterady to get clothes dry for DH to pack last night. He has now gone, flight leaves at 3 this afternoon. Am having consolatory (sp?) jelly beans with my lunch

DD slept in a sleepsuit and a 1 tog grobag last night, seemed OK though hands were cold this morning. Chest felt warm enough though.

Got a busy afternoon/evening ahead, packing the rest of our stuff up and having a bit of a tidy up (hate returning to chaos) before we go away tomorrow. Won't have internet while away so I'll see which I miss most, that or DH Also feel I want to have plenty of play with DD today as she'll be in the car for a lot of the time tomorrow.

Jamantha · 27/09/2007 11:58

I meant to say this last week - was watching Countdown while feeding and someone had the word "pooed" and whatsisname (not Richard Whiteley) said he didn't know that was how it was spelt, and I thought he's obviously never been on MN!

daisyandbabybootoo · 27/09/2007 12:17

I am such a pea brain......DDs sleepsuits came from Next, and all have fold over cuffs to act as scratch mitt.....dur, why didn't I think to use them.

I thought a sleepsuit was only needed with a grobag if it was proper chilly? this is why I'm frightened of grobags...too worried that she will be too hot.

Jamantha have a nice weekend at your folks. I reckon you'll miss your DH more, but it'll be a close call

daisyandbabybootoo · 27/09/2007 12:21

and jbm, no, no sleeves in them.

Jamantha · 27/09/2007 12:26

The instructions with the grobag suggested she should be wearing a long sleeve body suit Daist, but the night before her legs had been icy, so we tried a thinnish sleepsuit and seemed OK

Jamantha · 27/09/2007 12:27

Sorry about typo on your name

foxybrown · 27/09/2007 13:30

LOL Daisy, never occurred to me they were scratch mitts, thought they were to keep hands warm! only had them 3 years! durrrrrr!!!

god luck with your trip jamantha.

foxybrown · 27/09/2007 13:31

anyone watching the news? 1 in 100 babies die at birth. That is shocking.

trendaverter · 27/09/2007 13:33

DS has a sleepsuit AND a 2.5 grobag AND a cellular blanket on top sometimes

But then his bedroom is akin to a restaurant vault, sooo cooollld

trendaverter · 27/09/2007 13:34

1 in 100?
that's horrible

loonylovegood · 27/09/2007 13:43

1 in 100!! It really doesn't bear thinking about...poor babies and mummies .

My house is like a freezer, but I'm determined not to put the heating on yet! I live in the oldest, draughtiest house in the world and tbh the heating really doesn't make that much difference!

Have just had to email my work to ask them

-Why I got £500 less than expected this month
-Why they haven't got my pay right since I went on ML
-What's happening with the interview that I turned up for but didn't happen last week
-What happens with my pension (ie what are my options for making extra contributions) when i go part time next year (This is about the 3rd or 4th time I've asked)

AIBU not to want to spend hours of my ML chasing up HR rather than enjoying time with DD?
