i think there are three kids haven't gone, 2 are at school and one is on family hols. i don't envy the teachers with the motley collection of little feckers that have gone. dh watched them getting on the coach- he said he wouldn't be surprised if they forgot someone.

don't forget the tedious business of insurance holly, that is harder than buying the car!

loonylovegood · 24/09/2007 11:41

Oi daisy, they are in Gosport, AKA Gospit, because it is such a farking hole! I live in SOUTHAMPTON!

I am looking at Golf/Escort sized cars. The trouble is I only have £500 or so. They are available for that price, but they go quickly and I haven't been quick enough off the mark so far! Hopefully we can go and look at some tomorrow eve. Can't go tonight coz I start my evening class!!

Ria, your ds is prob having a lovely time at school with so few children. The teachers will have some 1-on-1 time with him, which is great.

Holly, for insurance, check out confused dot com. they check out lots of insurers and you can choose the best one for you! Saves hours on the phone repeating the same information over and over again.

daisyandbabybootoo · 24/09/2007 11:47

wot you studying? at you getting to leave the house on your own midweek!!

What about car auctions?

My tea break is still going...DD woke up and has been clamped on for nearly an hour . If I try to take her off she squeals at me then roots around like she's never seen food before. this would be her weekly growth spurt then!

Website design! I'm really excited, mainly because of the 2 whole hours each week I will spend with adults doing adult things!

How's the pushchair?

LOL at the weekly growth spurt! It's a daily one over here!

Hi DG, ROFL at the insane ILs! My FIL has a Cambodian love bride! They are all mental!

OP posts:
Jamantha · 24/09/2007 12:04

DG, sounds like I got away lightly with my ILs in comparison to you.

Ria, hope your DS has a good week. Is a bit of a shame if he's not away, but if it's what he wanted...

Daisy - where are you going on your hols, now that you're finally passported up?

We've both got colds here. Poor DD couldn't breath in the night when she was feeding, kept coming off the boob coughing and spluttering. Thankfully we'd bought a snot sucker contraption and it helped a bit - and didn't involve putting my mouth to her nose (phew!). Chemist has just recomended medised to help clear her nose, so when she wakes up will try that.

Am now getting a slight panic about DH going away for a week on Thursday, and me having to pack the car and do the 4 hour drive to my parents' on Friday. Need to make a list me thinks.

daisyandbabybootoo · 24/09/2007 12:08

pushchair is fab. dh likes the colour as it's a bit macho...dd likes looking out at the world and it's got brakes that work without kicking the shit out of them! it's got squeaky rear wheels though , but i think its cos of their newness. they are getting better.

dd has just come off......she fed for a grand total of 1 hour and 7 minutes......and DH wonders what I do all day!

off for lunch and to do some housework.

the college course sounds fab. i nearly signed up for a massage course, but didn't. i really wish I'd done it now.

loonylovegood · 24/09/2007 12:10

Do you think this is too small? Why don't they make regular sized cars in pink? It makes me !

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 24/09/2007 12:12

poor dd jamantha...it's horrible when they are all bunged up!

We are going HERE

loonylovegood · 24/09/2007 12:15

Oh daisy, how lovely! I love Centre Parcs! Am v !

Jamantha, we are all bunged up too. We all have snotty noses, except dd, who seems to have escaped so far. She has the constitution of an ox, she has never been ill! Obviously dp has it worse than the rest of us , bloody pathetic men!

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 24/09/2007 12:16

jamantha....medised has something in that makes them drowsy......I would stick to snufflebabe or karvol, but I'm a use drugs only if absolutely necessary type.

LOL holly...you're kidding, right?

loonylovegood · 24/09/2007 12:18

No, I'd love a pink car! But then I am a bit of an exhibitionist!

OP posts:
loonylovegood · 24/09/2007 12:20

I'm the same daisy, no drugs unless necessary. Snufflebabe and Olbas Oil for us! My house smells like a jar of Vicks!

OP posts:
Jamantha · 24/09/2007 12:24

That's odd, I had expected the chemist to suggest something like Karvol, and to be honest would prefer something like that, but she insisted that Medised was the only thing I could have, and I was too tired etc because of own cold to argue. Feel and now that I didn't ask more questions. I just asked what could I use to help clear her nose and accepted this. Maybe I'll go back in a bit (without opening the bottle) and see what they say?

foxybrown · 24/09/2007 12:26

Oh Lordy! Been offline since Thursday, and I don't have the time to catch up - can anyone give me the headlines? Pleeeease?

Hope you are all well and the wee ones are behaving!

foxybrown · 24/09/2007 12:27

Medised contains an antihistamine, doesn't it? Makes them sleepy. Great for the older ones, but for a lo?

foxybrown · 24/09/2007 12:29

Sorry, Jamantha, just looking back now. Agree Karvol or Snufflebabe, or Nasosal (I think its called) basically that is saline drops, one in each nostril works a treat.

foxybrown · 24/09/2007 12:32

Is it just me getting excited about Christmas?

peeing my pants with excitement!!

Jamantha · 24/09/2007 12:33

Just read the box, and yes it's got an antihistamine in, which they did tell me, plus paracetamol, which wasn't explained. Am actually more concerned about the paracetamol than the antihistamine. I don't want to be giving pain relief all the time, especially when she doesn't seem to be in pain and is sleeping well. If they'd said it had paracetamol in I wouldn't have bought it. I just want something to help her breathe! Am ashamed that I didn't read it at the time, but I was feeling poorly myslef, she was crying, and we were on our way somewhere, so not that surprising I guess. We're going back to the chemist right now though.

foxybrown · 24/09/2007 12:36

Good old Vicks vapour rub (they do a baby version now) is always a winner. Don't worry yourself Jamantha, hope you are feeling a bit better

andiem · 24/09/2007 12:47

I'm really excited about christmas too foxy we are going here for two nights when ds1 breaks up from school. I won't be wearing that bikini though
