Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Shimmer · 03/10/2007 10:29

Morning ladies. Sorry about yor crap night eah. I second Lizz's suggestion. Stick um in front of the telly! I find baby telly quite soothing... i'm always dropping off on the sofa with F watching baby einstein or noddy! He doesn't watch that much TV but I fnd it a real help in the mornings especially! His new favourite is Fifi and the Flowertots!! Anyone else seen this it's on 5 around 8amish, it's actually very good. Actually i think he likes the music more than the actual program, he bounces up and down in a sort of funny dance whenever it comes on

I'm feeling so lazy and lethergic at the moment. Don't know why really. I was trying to explain to DP yesterday how my days are simultaneously very busy and yet quite boring.... I'm not bored, it's just that just looking after F and the housework etc. isn't particually fulfilling i spose. Is it awful that I don't find just spending time at home with F fulfilling?? I am trying to enjoy this time as I'm back at work in a couple of weeks and then i'm sure i'll miss having all this time.

Ops that was a bit of an unintentional ramble there. Going to make the effort to go down to the library to 'baby bounce' song/storytime thing now.

I did sit through most of THAT program last night. Those poor babies being put outside and not allowed cuddles !!!!

Felt quite sad about Britney losing custody of her boys yesterday as well. Not that I have any idea of she's a fit mother or not, but any mother not being able/allowed to look after her children is so sad.

eandh · 03/10/2007 11:21

lizz email is [email protected] and hopefully I'll be able to answer your question.

Shimmer you have explained my day so well

DH now up and Hattie ad a monster 2.5our nap nepew needs to sleep but won't spoke to is mum wo as made drs appt for 5pm and asked if I can meet her there to drop him off (so dinenr will have to be early tonigt) but of he carries on looking tis miserable will ave to call her/my brother and say one of them needs to pick him up. Ellie doesnt like te tv anymore (its boring apparently!) but she is happily playing with her play kitchen

eandh · 03/10/2007 11:22

appears my 'h' button not working very well

katwith3kittens · 03/10/2007 11:37

Thought that was dropping the 'h' was an attempt at a northern accent or some new kind of code EaH !

DH, re fingerfood... it may be she finds things too slippy if you know what I mean and prefers something harder she can get a good grip on (dont we all ? ).. he he ..

I am definitely not broody .. infact i'm just bagging up some stuff to ebay, am I the only one ?

Heck. missed that programme again. Will it be repeated ? Although dont think I want to sit through any more sad things this week. Funeral tomorrow. A friend is looking after LO tomorrow so I can go and we've arranged to have lunch wih a big stiff drink afterwards. Think I'll need it somehow.

Goblet, the suit is lovely and a much nicer shade of blue than the pictures show. I got it from 'thatcuteage' as postage was free if you accepted 4-5 day delivery (cheapskate !), mind you I ordered it on Friday and it was here by Tuesday so quite impressive. I got the 12-24 months but they are quite small fitting, and there is no way it will last until christmas next year, but there again LO is a chunky one. Infact I've bypassed all the 9-12 month clothes and gone straight to 12 month EeeK.
Liking the sound of a part refund .. if you dont ask ...
Good luck with the application ...BTW, what do you do ....intrigued with nappy complaints ?

gobletofblood · 03/10/2007 12:32

Kat I work for consumer direct bit like nhs direct but its consumer advice so you can check what your rights are.

Ellen is ok with finger food except cheese wierdly. She just throws it on the floor. I'm finding feeding her a bit of a chore at the mo cos she rejcts the first few spponfuls and cries but then decides to eat it.

Soooo tired at the mo I had my eyes shut in the shower this morn.

Know exactly what you all mean about days at home. I long to be there when I'm at work but then once I have a day at home I want to be at work.

DH ahd day off on Mon and kept asking me what he should do with Ellen. I felt like saying 'thats what I have to decide every time I'm at home' but I didn;t, helpfully suggested things. I did go out with friends after work though and not get home til 7.30 so he had to do whole day himself ha ha gave him a taste of his own medicine. It would have been even better if he had no car that day too to be just like me but I've got my mums at the mo. He drove to the canal to walk along it FFS. I walk there all the time!

Lizzzombie · 03/10/2007 13:39

Eah - I've emailed you. Like I said - no rush, just wanted your opinion on situation.

Shimmer - the housework boredom/looking after baby thing...I reckon its the same for us all! But, this bit passes so fast, before we know it they will all be at nursery & school, and we can get our lives back!

Btw - my absolute favourite program is "In the Night Garden". Its so relaxing, I love the theme tune and am thinking about walking down the isle to it! Plus I know that if LO is bathed and dressed in pj's by then, with milk, then I am on schedule!

LadyTophamHatt · 03/10/2007 14:43

I seem to have got my a job

The mum of one Ds4s little pals from my RL postnatal group is a nurse, going back to work jsut after christmas and I'll be looking after him once or twice a week while she's either at work or in bed after working the night shift.

I am mary poppins

theUrbanDryad · 03/10/2007 16:32

just so long as you're not Claire Verity!!

eandh · 03/10/2007 19:35

Lizz have emailed you (excuse the typing/rambling been a long day and I am knackered)

Dropped nephew off at drs at 5pm to meet brother and gf and they phoned to say he had bronchile infection no wonder he looked so sorry forhimself today.

Both the girls are in bed and fingers crossed theystay asleep tonight, I am going to have a bath and hit the sack soon.

LTH - job sounds good (is it another boy or do you finally get to look after a pink one?)

kat hope all goes as well as it can do tomrrow

dragon - can't help on that one it may be just the texture of 'wet/slimy' things I wouldnt worry to much

dh moved all the downstairs furniture around today so now the conservatory is the dining room (looks fab but need to get a lamp and vase for out there) old dining room is playroom (but need to get computer desk/chair out there as thats where I want it to be) and moved the lounge furniture around and looks great so am very at the mo

gobletofblood · 03/10/2007 19:39

Is it like having a new house E&H?

LTH - you got a Mary Poppinesque bag to haul all your stuff around in?

Lizz - is night garden on cbeebies? I've hearda bout it but never seen it. I only have nornal tv though.

eandh · 03/10/2007 19:44

Yes vin its great (although am now looking at a lovely sideboard that would look great in new playroom and it has matching computer desk but its £350 so unlikely I'll be getting that!!)

LadyTophamHatt · 03/10/2007 19:59

Its another boy EandH.

They were born on the same day, about 4 hours apart and when we realised my friend said "Ohhh did you hear that woman screaming??"

Ummmm.

who do you think that woman was????

LadyTophamHatt · 03/10/2007 20:01

Goblet, I use the boot of teh car to hawl my stuff around. There isn't a a bag big enough frp all the crap that my children carry/collect/hoard

WizardofWilkdom · 03/10/2007 21:06

Gawd am bored tonight - DH watching some weirdie film called 300 (don't bother)!!

LTH - cool about the job although I do have a concern that you have finally gone mad Eeeek! Another boy!

UD - are you thinking of trying for No 2 then? Thought you were waiting till Z was 2 - or has the broodiness become to much?

Am feeling a bit wobbly ATM which isn't helped by the fact that DH has heard of a job possibility in York and TBH, I'm not sure I want to leave Lincoln. Nightmare. We HAVE to go where his job takes us but I am settled here. The only place I wanna move to is Manchester or Grimsby where sis/mum are respectively. Bummer.

geoRGEEweasley · 03/10/2007 21:42

Ahh Wilkie York is lovely. You could always move to Leeds which is a reasonable commute to York and eay to get to Manchester. And as a bonus, you could see Vino and I

I'm knackered but can't be bothered to get up off my bum to go to bed. That's how lazy I am.

gobletofblood · 04/10/2007 06:57

Wilkie York is soooo nice and tons of lovely places to go to /things to do. I know what you mean about being settled though but I think that if we had to move now having LO is the best way of getting to know people in a new area. I have met quite a few people who've been in that position and said the same.

E&H - steady on the shopping now....

E was awake at 5.30 so DH was up and out early.
I've got a physio apt at 10 near to where I work so am gonna pop into work with E cos lots of people who want to see her.

A woman at work gave me tons of apples yesterday so DH peeled them all and I stewed them. We were bored by the end! There were a lot.....and I smashed the galss plate turntable thing from the mocrowave so now we need a new one.

ToadieG1 · 04/10/2007 11:50

Well Ethan has chicken pox Can't talk long as he's really clingy. No doubt the other 2 will get it as well, Morgan is off pre-school today under the weather so that could be the start of it for him.

Just bought some oilatum for the bath just in case and some oilatum mousee, already have calomine. Sigh.

Dragonhart · 04/10/2007 12:11

Thanks for your opinions about the finger food. I have been getting her to stick her fingers in her food and she loved it so not the feel of it. Actually think she is just thinking 'why would I do it when you will do it for me!?'

UD. God, I am soooo broody too. I think that is why I was preg with Ruth when Luke was his age as I felt exactly the same. Determined to wait until Ruth is 1 year though. Dad has his prostrate operation begining of Dec so want to be able to help him without feeling really sick. Also doc said I should wait a year after having the cs.

Go on. Do it. It is lovely having two close together. Yesterday I put Ruth on the sofa next to Luke while I got their milk ready and Luke was telling her waht was on tv. It was so cute. I almost cried

Ruth had a crap night last night, which is not like her at all. She was in pain but couldnt work out where. Either teeth or wind or both.

EAH- Hope you had a better night last night.

I watched half of 'that programme' and the thing I couldnt understand was why she was so happy about letting those babies cry! Evil woman. I am all for routines but that is jsut too far! 10 mins cuddling ffs! Mind you I could not have a baby attached to me for the first, was it 6months or a year? Appart from anything, your back would be destroyed!

Wilkie- I was thinking isnt York closer to Manchester and your sister too?

Congrats on the too job LTH.

Dragonhart · 04/10/2007 12:12

Oh no Jodie. Poor Ethan

ToadieG1 · 04/10/2007 12:24

Thanks DH - ooh are you having another baby? I'm quite broody too but no chance of having another now dh has hd the snip. I've love another baby in a few years time. Who knows maybe dh will think differently by then.

Lizzzombie · 04/10/2007 12:51

Jodie - you poor thing...much sympathy! Hope you and DH don't get it either.
Do people still have "chicken pox parties"? (or was it just my Mum who did stuff like that?!)

ToadieG1 · 04/10/2007 12:54

Thanks Liz, no idea re the chicken pox parties. We've both had chicken pox and getting it again is really rare, or so I've read.

Hello

sorry to heat about ethan jodie - there was a sign up at ellie's preschool today about chickenpox doing the rounds!

Got a dvd from preschool today of ellie driving this pretend car thing with background was determined not to get ucked in to paying £20 for it but it is so cute and funny shes is laughing all the way thru it (mmm soo that is me £20 poorer!!)

geoRGEEweasley · 04/10/2007 18:33

God I am starting to scratch. Potentially three lo's with chikenpox.... Jodie I don't half sympathise I guess its that time of year - at least I will know who to ask for advice when my lo catches it!

PCF well done to DH!

Dragon - my doc told us to wait a year too. Don't know why they tell some people who had a cs to wait a year, but my friend who also had a section was told to wait 3 months.

And just for the record, secretly I am quite broody, but just not now on a practical level.

Am off out tonight with an old friend. Hurrah! Off for a meal and a bottle (or two) of wine.
Them tomorrow I am off out for lunch with a friend and her son (and a bottle of wine).
Then Saturday I am off to a wedding (and a few bottles of wine).
Is there a recurrant theme here???????
