It's easy to forget just how lucky we are to have beautiful healthy children

Our thoughts are with Vio and her family

And I'm sure we're all thinking of those that have been absent lately, and hoping that they know they can return to us if they need us at any time, no questions asked

PINIONS, SMOLE, MUMINA..., NUTTY, OCTO, (AND ANYONE ELSE I'VE MISSED)...........

sorry, feeling soppy

I'm in Milton Keynes, and we are so posh here, the council blows warm air on the babies at just the right temperature...

PillockOfTheCommunity · 13/09/2007 20:24

ooh get you

OK, can't keep up at all, but really good to see all the returning mummies! MMK I have emailed you, hopefully you've received something from me.

Sexonlegs · 13/09/2007 21:17

Hiya loves.

Mmk, your posts are so so lovely, and I was really moved by your post about turning the lights off.

SPB, hope T is ok, and is not another bug.

Runny/Mammyjo hope you enjoyed your coffee and cake today.

Elkie, the photos of D are lovely.

Tili, lovely to see you, and I am so pleased B has settled in to school.

Big wave to everyone else I have forgotten.

Had a great day today. B really has settled in to school so well. Went to a farm this afternoon and she was on top form. Really polite, played nicely etc. [relieved mummy emoticon]!
K has been ok too, although she is a pita when having her bottle. She seems to have become quite cocky and pushes it around and generally mucks about! Quite amusing in many ways, but makes it so bloody slow!

Hope everyone is ok. xx

mammyjo · 13/09/2007 21:18

Mmk, is it just your email address to send something via paypal? If it is then I will do that either tonight or tomorrow.

I am off now as have to be up very early to go to work Need to be leaving the house by 7am Night all, may be back tomorrow, or if not, then Saturday.

mammyjo · 13/09/2007 21:20

Runny and I had lovely coffee/hot chocolate, and both F and W were very well behaved! Nice to sit and chat!

AngeG · 13/09/2007 21:25

Hi SOL

Good luck for your first day back tomorrow Mammyjo. Be thinking of you.

Sexonlegs · 13/09/2007 21:26

Hi Ange, how did the photo session go??

MJ, good luck tomorrow - just think, you will be able to have a wee and eat lunch with no interruptions! x

StealthPolarBear · 13/09/2007 21:27

Hi MMK think I've paypaled you, only the 2nd time I've ever done that (as opposed to paying for something through ebay which is idiot proof) so please let me know if it hasn't worked.
Well I think I am smothering T, was using a 1 tog bag until last week now using a 2.5 tog one and sometimes a blanket as well He always wears a long sleeved sleepsuit.
We have a thermometer in his room and it does get quite chilly - there's always a window open (there has to be otherwise the room smells of nappy bin, no matter how often we empty it )
GMM and WO I hope everything goes as well as it can tomorrow. I'll be thinking about Vio and of course baby James.

maveta · 13/09/2007 21:27

quick q: how do you tell if your lo is warm enough?? N is cool to the touch but his hair/head is sweaty.. what does this mean?! He´s only got a light sheet on him..

StealthPolarBear · 13/09/2007 21:28

And yes, good luck for tomorrow mammyjo, I bet after the first one you'll feel much better xx

StealthPolarBear · 13/09/2007 21:30

maveta, where is he cool to the touch?
If it's his hands, I think that's normal. I expect T's hands to be cold but face to be warm, but not sweaty iyswim.

AngeG · 13/09/2007 21:34

Photo session went ok thanks SOL, she posed nicely for a while and then had enough. Going to view them on Monday.

Maveta - I was always told to feel their back/back of neck to check how warm/cold they are. Izzy's hands are always cool to the touch, but rest of her is warm without being hot.

Sexonlegs · 13/09/2007 21:35

SPB, how did you paypal mmk? Is T ok?

Idreamofchocolate · 13/09/2007 21:35

Good luck for tomorrow Mammyjo - the day will fly by, you'll be finex

Maveta - I'm pretty rubbish at deciding how much clothing/sheets to put on S. I swear she's under-dressed most of the time, but I always figure she's better slightly chilly than too hot. If N feels cool then I'd say he's fine. I can't put sheets on S - she just kicks then off, even if she's fast asleep, so she sleeps in the short sleeved/short legged baby-gro and a gro-bag. Can't remember the tog. All I know is she's growing out of the things fast, and she'd gonna need some new ones soon. She is a big, lovely, cuddly 16lb 6oz porker!

nappynuttynormabutty · 13/09/2007 21:36

SPB - we usually have Erin in a short sleeved/legged babygro thing then in a grobag...not sure what tog and haven't the foggiest if it's too warm/cold but she doesn't seem to complain . Don't think she's too hot or cold Her hands are always cold but the rest is cosy! AND YOU'VE GOT ANOTHER GOOD REASON TO SWITCH TO REUSABLES!!!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 13/09/2007 21:37

Joe is being difficult

nappynuttynormabutty · 13/09/2007 21:37

Oh and good luck with work tomorrow MJ.

Will be thinking about Vio and the funeral tomorrow .

StealthPolarBear · 13/09/2007 21:38

SOL just go to www.paypal.co.uk, click log in (top of page) and then "Send money" tab, it then just asks you to enter the recipient email and the amount. I've had a confirmation email so think it's worked.
(I assume you already have a paypal account?)
T is fine, thank you for asking, it looks as though that was a one off. Still hypochondriacally (if that's a word ) watching for every sign of illness in T or myself though - never used to be like this

maveta · 13/09/2007 21:38

mmk - but what is your email? I´m sorry, I think I´m a bit confused!

SPB/ Ange - everywhere, back of neck, arms, legs, even his head feels cool but sweaty. I´ve noticed he´s often like this lately, I´m finding it really hard to judge.. It IS still really warm, we only sleep with a sheet on us and I guess my skin feels similarly cool.. but I´m certainly not clammy.. aaaaargh... I´m just getting paranoid now with this night waking, trying to moderate any variables!

Idreamofchocolate · 13/09/2007 21:39

What's Joe doing Ellie? Not in bed yet?

StealthPolarBear · 13/09/2007 21:39

IDOC I prefer the too cold thing as well, he'll cry if he's too cold. My mum wants a hat on him unless it's an indian summer outside.
Pillock, what's happening?

PillockOfTheCommunity · 13/09/2007 21:39

maveta, have emailed you mmk's email addy

OP posts:
Idreamofchocolate · 13/09/2007 21:40

Maveta - have you started weaning N yet?

nappynuttynormabutty · 13/09/2007 21:40

SPB, do we have the same mum????

Mind you I think my MIL would have her running about naked in the snow...she's always asking if she's too hot
