Sorry, couldn't think of anything witty against a background of constant whinging!

Hi Bumper - as has already been said, it is totally normal to feel like that, especially when you are really sleep deprived in the first few months - but they all do start sleeping more and more and you will feel better when you are more in the swing of things, which just kind of happens without you realising it.

We all have days when you just want to put your head under the duvet and sleep for hours and wish the whole world would just f**k off and leave you alone!

Also once your lo gets a bit bigger and you start going to playgroups, the library, the park, etc you will meet lots more Mums and Dads. In the meantime, we are always here for a good moan!

annobal · 26/08/2007 18:07

Thanks everyone for birthday wishes. I had a lovely day. I bought lots of clothes (in the sale of course) and got some great presents and had some friends over. Right, off to catch up on today's activities...

annobal · 26/08/2007 18:15

Oh Bumper - sorry that you are feeling sad. Wish I'd read through before I posted previous msg - sorry. It is really hard and such a change of life but as you know you have good days and bad days and while it can be really rewarding at times it can also be really boring! Can you have a lie down when lo has a sleep? Hope tomorrow is better

bumperlicious · 26/08/2007 18:43

Thanks guys, don't worry annobal, I'm glad you had a fab day! I'll be better tomorrow when I have had a good nights sleep. Looking forward to meeting up with you guys next week!

Bunper I agree with everyone else I felt exactly how you did with the first and found it hard . I was reduced to tears at times. It does get better as everyone says and look some of us have even done it twice or three times or four.........

I can't wait to meet the south east contingent either

derlor · 26/08/2007 19:37

BZ - I think by the time I'd manage to do that - LO would have shat all over me

BadZelda · 26/08/2007 20:35

Yo Derlor! Nice to see you again.

Thanks all for sympathy r.e. the leg. It's much better today, which was lucky as we've been walking round hampstead heath all afternoon.. bumper - I know how you feel - it took me a long time after dd1 was born to get the hang of making time for me again, and to feel 'myself'. Then one day i realised that i'd adjusted without being aware of it.

BadZelda · 26/08/2007 20:39

yeah -t does look pretty complicated. Just I'm trying to find a use for the 2 dozen odd muslins I've got, since dd isn't a sicky baby, so thedy're just sitting in the cupboard at the moment

BadZelda · 26/08/2007 20:40

grrrrr i HATE dh'slaptop - he has all sorts of weird hot keys set up.

BadZelda · 26/08/2007 20:58

Now got my laptop sorted...but it looks like everyone's gone away? I don't know how DH actually uses that thing without throwing it at the wall!

derlor · 26/08/2007 21:03

i'm still here BZ - was just off catching up on my friend's BLOG she's just moved to Melbourne and is currently updating the blog daily - bet that won't last long!!

daisyandbabybootoo · 26/08/2007 21:07

hey bz....I'm here!

glad your leg is better. I've got pains in my wrists and fingers...sort of arthriticy type pains.

bumper, sorry you're having a bad day...it will get better, as BZ said, one day things will just click without you realising it. You're doing a great job...as are we all.

I've had another shit day too, but I won't bore you all with it. At least the sun is shining!!!

tallulah, you can have the liners as I didn't pay anything for them. I can't imagine the postage will be a lot as they hardly weigh anything. E-mail me your address and I'll sort it out!

daisyandbabybootoo · 26/08/2007 21:10

Hi DErlor, hope you had a good birthday. I know how you feel about being 33...it was a real turning point for me as it felt like I was suddenly mid 30s. Now I'd sell my soul to be 33 again!

How long did your thrush take to clear up?

riabutterflew · 26/08/2007 21:10

my boys are back and are back to being little buggers. they have been (almost) perfect for my DPs too. NOT FAIR. (but my DPs only live round the corner, I can send them with a spotted hanky on a stick with clean underwear in if I have to!)
