Is anyone on holiday in Cornwall? thought Octo might be? please tell me they weren't going to that hotel?

Pesha · 19/08/2007 16:38

I think everyone staying at the hotel were on the same coach trip from peterborough or somewhere. But all one big party I think so dont think anyone of us ellie. Pretty sure thats what they sid on local news anyway.

EllieK · 19/08/2007 16:41

good, haven't actually seen the news yet, just glimpsed at a paper earlier but then m started playing up before i could read

Katy44 · 19/08/2007 16:48

Which hotel?

Katy44 · 19/08/2007 16:49

ah, just seen

EllieK · 19/08/2007 16:49

not seen the outside world either Katy?

very , hotel fire in Cornwall, one man dead, several missing still

Pesha · 19/08/2007 16:50

And if its not the 9th Ellie then chances are I can come - its not very often I have things planned for a sunday. Its just amazing bad luck I cant make the 9th. Stupid bloody sil

But then wouldnt be m's bday would it so 9th be better for you obviously and seems like you're still gonna have a few of us able to make it for you.

Think its lovely you're asking daisymoo to be godmother hope she can.

None of my children have been christened and nor was I! Keep thinking I should have some sort of naming ceremony for them all but not quite sure what to do and we cant afford anything for a while anyway, have to start saving for dds birthday and christmas now!
Have been thinking I need to get a job really but cant afford to do childminding with the outlay needed now we dont get grant and with cost of childcare if I have a daytime job but dp having to leave for work by 9pm at the latest it makes things a bit difficult, not many jobs fit in with those hours. Might go investigate what sort of help with childcare costs we might get.

EllieK · 19/08/2007 16:52

erm......... the 9th isn't Matthew's birthday, we were having it on 23rd as then matthews party would be same weekend (22nd), but as she isn't coming I've gone back to having 2 events. so you could always come up for Matthew's party instead? would be more fun for your rabble anyway

Pesha · 19/08/2007 17:17

Ah I knew it wasnt his birthday but thought it was around then more than oct but of course makes no difference if you're having 2 events anyway. We could come for M's party I expect, will talk to jamie whan he wakes up - is currently snoring away on sofa!

Well according to the inland revenue calculator thing if I went back to work 16 hours a week paying childcare for it I would be approx £21 a week better off not sure its really worth working for £1.31 ph! Why cant I have family who can help with childcare, everyone else I know does. Its not fair!!

Still I suppose its a good excuse not to work!

EllieK · 19/08/2007 17:22

oi love, I don't!

my nursery bill, £434 for joe per month, £295 for matthew, and that's after his grant funding is take off

octoandflash · 19/08/2007 17:28

hello hello hello

been hectic weekend - painted dining room, went to friends last night for dinner, christneing today, tidied house .... blah blah

I have that top Dippy !!! There a few other tops I quite like in Next this year - don't normally like their stuff but was quite impressed when flicked thru a friends directory. It looks really nice with my white linen trousers

Must go ... ernie bellowing!

normabutty · 19/08/2007 18:02

Hello!

Nice top CD and lovely that dh landed home with it!

Eddas & Leaky - hope you both had a good time swimming with the LOs. Dh was meant to be taking Erin but never got round to it

Sorry I've forgotten everything else...can't remember what I was going to type cos dh is singing.

Met up with another cloth nappy user today for coffee (with our dhs & dc), it was really nice, they were both really friendly. She's local too so hoping to maybe meet up again soon. Had a good chat about nappies too .

EllieK · 19/08/2007 18:04

you went out and talked about nappies?

i really hope no one overheard you

Sexonlegs · 19/08/2007 18:18

Hi all

Octo, your day sounds as manic as CD's days' do!

Hope the swimming went well to those who were going.

CD, lovely top, and even lovelier dh for getting it for you.

Norma, glad you had a good time today.

Well, they are all back, and it is lovely.

I was so nervous, but it was fab to have a huge hug of Becky - I was really tearful! K has been sweet as well - big grins all round. And of course having dh back is lovely too.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

xx

happimummy · 19/08/2007 18:23

ok, seeing as Pesha is talking babies... my confession is... I'm broody ! Line up and slap me now ladies...

ellie- dh probably wont be able to make it, and anyway in light of recent stresses, no extra meet-up's with the inlaws are desired at the mo!!

norma - hmmmm.... nappies....

normabutty · 19/08/2007 18:27

Ah see HM understands.... ...and if you want to buy another nappy, you have to make sure it's a completely new type to try out...feed the addiction!!!!

happimummy · 19/08/2007 18:28

hi sol! Awww, that's sweet! Glad it was good with B xx

leakyR · 19/08/2007 18:30

SOL - that's so sweet. Nice that you're all back together again.

Nice top Dippy! LOL at the thought of my DH buying me clothes. I'd look like Haggis McBaggis!

Norma - You have no shame with your public nappy chat

Pesha - sorry thinking about another baby made you It must be tough to think "that's it!" Although I think you're brave having 3. Think we'll stop at 2, but knowing my luck and my family history (Grandad a twin, 1 set twin uncles, 3 sets twin cousins)I'd end up with another 2!

Swimming was lovely and G and I had a lovely snooze afterwards. DH has made coq au vin which is smelling yummy. think it'll be an early night for me tonight.

elkiedee · 19/08/2007 18:32

PMSL at nutty's nappy chat and pesha's broodiness.

EllieK · 19/08/2007 18:33

normabutty · 19/08/2007 18:33

leakyR · 19/08/2007 18:34

EllieK · 19/08/2007 18:34
