Pesha · 18/08/2007 18:25

Oh and new pics on my profile btw if anyones interested! (well they were new last week so if you've looked since then then they're not!)

Pesha · 18/08/2007 18:31

OK so maybe ellies got a point

Forgot to say SOL - was pmsl when i read about your image of nathan peeing on the shoes - when we got back the little sod took one of maias lovely new school shoes off and did pee in it

Seriously what is it with boys and their willys?! Just because they can do things with them doesnt mean they have to!!

normabutty · 18/08/2007 18:32

Afternoon all,

Mammyjo - that is bloody terrible treatment from your doc , hope you can get something sorted. Makes me so mad that the nhs promote bf as 'best' but then don't have the support there for people...or the knowledge it would seem

Ange - (((hugs))) I'm sure Izzy is doing fine. Have to admit I got the same from the HV last time I went (she's dropped a little on the chart, you'd best come back next week - yeah right, so you can be a bitch again I don't think so...haven't been back since ). Is there anywhere you can have Izzy weighed without having the HV annoy you. I get Erin weighed at baby group, we just weigh her ourselves and mark it on the chart in our book. That way we can see if she's dropping (and could ask for help if we wanted it) but we don't have a snotty HV lecturing us.

Had a crap start to the day. We set off into Leeds and I said to dh "have you brought Erin's coat?" he says no so we head back home and get it. Get to Leeds, park in multi storey car park, get Erin in pram etc. Dh locks car, I say "Err, you need the bag out before you lock it"...at which point he realises he forgot to pick the bag up (with bottles/nappies in) so we have to go home (luckily he managed not to have to pay for car park). So we had a row about how I always have to remember everything . Anyway it got better after that, went out for lunch and did some shopping. We got Erin a bumbo and she really likes it!

Finally got round to getting some more recent pics printed for the frames I've got, so now have a few pics of Erin around!

Oh and the deleted thing is from someone's contacts on msn and don't worry - it's not you Octo!!!

Octo - I have your wraps to send back...can you email me your address please!

normabutty · 18/08/2007 18:36

Sorry took me ages to type that! Lovely pics Pesha!

weeonion · 18/08/2007 18:40

mammyjo - quick post for you and i am sorry for ignoring other people. please dont get disheartened. email me on base02 at gmail dot com if you want. i had a similar expereine a few weeks ago at A&E and i know what helped me over a couple of days until i got the right support.
thinking of you xxo

Pesha · 18/08/2007 18:51

Thanks nutty nice to have you back

My boy likes paul simon - call me al! might have to look up the lyrics so i can sing him more than just the role model bit!!

Pesha · 18/08/2007 18:58

He also likes puddle of mudd - she f##ing hates me!! But not as much which is probably good - singing above to him in public might not be received too well!

Pesha · 18/08/2007 19:02

Sorry its not above now its posted is it! 'Singing the left in public'

Can you tell my big kids are gone til tomorrow and dps still at football so its Just Me (and the boy but he's not really mastered conversation yet so doesnt count)!

Pesha · 18/08/2007 19:09

Oh and he did his first proper giggle yesterday at maia, hes kinda laughedish before but this was real proper giggle - VERY cute, and great that it was for maia too

He likes scooter too but i think hes just laughing at mummys big fish little fish cardboard box type dancing

CaptainDippy · 18/08/2007 19:30

'Course I mean it Ellie ..... Checked with DH and he says it is fine - We're not doing anything that weekend so you are on! Thank you for the accomodation offer - think I might have take you up on that one!! I wouldn't drive, I would take the train - what is your nearest station?? Could you / would you pick me up??

Ange - Ignore, ignore, ignore .... If you know that Izzy is happy in herself and doesn't seem distressed etc I wouldn't worry too much. HV are scaremongerers imho - Just humour them, my sweet! {{{{hugs}}}

Leaky - LOVELY pics - wee G is an absolute sweetheart!

Going to have a bath and then Chinese Take-Away - yum - Absolutely exhausted - went & saw fabby areoplanes and then went shopping and then got bus home - Got back super late and girls still rocking ....

EllieK · 18/08/2007 19:51

nearest station is Thurston, but Bury St Eds or Stowmarket are just as easy and have more trains. If I can't collect you someone can, but don't plan anything yet cos I need Daisymoo to confirm first! (I'm hoping she'll be godmother)

CaptainDippy · 18/08/2007 20:35

No worries, just let me know.

Katy44 · 18/08/2007 20:40

sorry just dashing as grouchy t
but lovely pics Pesha, he's so smiley!

Sexonlegs · 18/08/2007 20:52

Hiya loves.

Mammyjo, what a nightmare for you. I cannot believe the crap advice/lack of support. Really hope something/someone proves helpful soon.

Pesha, can't believe Nath peed in the shoes - what a scallywag!

Ellie, glad you are feeling a bit brighter today. I cannot make the 9th (if it is the 9th) as we are in Stockholm that weekend.

Nutty, I totally associated with your post. Dh is a nightmare about remembering K's stuff/refilling her bag. I have been out a few times only to find there are no nappies in the bag, and have had to find the nearest chemist!

Hello to everyone else - can't remember anything else.

Had a great day at the rugby, but now feel a bit rough - awful headache and a bit queasy feeling. Bloody typical, as I have the house to myself tonight and should make the most of it.

Katy44 · 18/08/2007 22:09

Oh no SOL hope you're feeling better soon. You've had quite a few bugs recently, are you a bit run down?
Well I'm enjoying my didn't-get-the-job champagne. Why does there not seem as much in a bottle of champagne as in a bottle of wine? I'm on my 2nd glass and think DH has had about the same, maybe a little more and the bottle is gone!

Pesha · 18/08/2007 22:34

Cos of the bubbles katy!

Seriously, apparently!

(Dp makes blackthorn for a living so reckons he knows these things! )

leakyR · 18/08/2007 22:38

Good Evening

Lots to get down. I made notes

I think Pinions is on holiday at the mo so that's why she's not been on in a while.

Ellie - at your fran (nearly said m-word) and the generally crappy way she treats you. I'm afraid we can't do the 9th as we're on holiday in the Lakes that week. I hope you have a great day with lovely people who appreciate you and your boys.

Maveta - Garnier gradual tanning stuff doesn't smell bad. On the proper fake tan front Fake Bake mousse is pricey but natural looking (on a pasty blonde)and doesn't streak.

Hello Newy!!! Hope you enjoy your weekend.

Mammyjo - I hope you get some good advice on the bf problem. It's so frustrating that help isn't readily available. well done for persevering.

AngeG - hope you feel better soon. Go with your instinct - if you think Izzy is fine, then she is. I think hv can be very intimidating sometimes.

Pesha - lovely pics

Nutty - Can also relate to the forgetful dh thing, he's forgotten the changing bag/sunshade/coat or cardie for G at various times. George also got a bumbo this week. He loves it, it appeals to his natural nosiness to be able to sit up and see everything.

SOL - hope you feel better soon.

Katy - I had some non alcoholic fizz today to celebrate my friend being pg. Everyone else had the real thing apart from us two. It was pants, not a patch on the real stuff.

I'm still knackered. George is still waking between 4-6 times a night.

elkiedee · 18/08/2007 22:49

Ellie at Fran's attitude towards you, I'm sorry.

I've been looking up train timetables to you, think this is the relevant link in terms of coming from Cambridge or Peterborough if anyone else is searching

www.onerailway.com/upload/Timetables/StandardPrint/summer/14_Ipswch_Peterboro_Ipswch.pdf

What time would your party be? And how far is Thurston railway station from you/the venue for the party?

Katy44 · 18/08/2007 22:58

Really Pesha I'm gullible, so if you're trying to make me look stupid...you'll probably succeed!
Off to bed, hello and goodnight everyone x

elkiedee · 18/08/2007 23:17

Mammyjo, so sorry to hear you're suffering, and I also agree with what nutty said about NHS really backing up pro-breastfeeding policies. Thing is, however good (or not) postnatal support for bf is, women also need support in other parts of the hospitals and other parts of the NHS, your GP and A&E in your case (paediatrics for me and at least other woman and her baby who I met last week).

SOL, sorry to hear that you're feeling rough again, hope you feel better soon.

Katy, glad you're enjoying your champagne.

elkiedee · 18/08/2007 23:32

Ange, sorry you're feeling down. Health visitors are meant to support women with their babies, not to upset them, it sucks that so many of you have such a different experience . And surely professionals should be able to judge from a range of observation how babies are doing, judging on the weight charts alone (old or new) seems a bit silly, and not really using the professional training someone needs to qualify as a health visitor or the experience they presumably gain doing the job.

JoMa's advice in the thread title and first post of this thread seem to me worth referring back to here.

elkiedee · 19/08/2007 00:45

I've posted something about how I'm feeling/what happenened to me in the area on breast and bottle feeding.

Going to take ds swimming for the first time today. Not sure the other swimmers'll appreciate having to look at me in a cozzie though
