I'm afraid I can't make it either, but hope you have a lovely day. Sounds as though M.U.M would put a downer on it?

maveta · 18/08/2007 08:55

morning everyone! Ellie that is just so so crap of your mother, sorry you have to put up with her! I´m glad you´ve got your Nan to look after you properly..

I can´t remember anything else - dh has just gone off for his last half day of work before 2 weeks´ holiday! Yay! Can´t wait to have so much time the 3 of us. And one of my very best friends arrives from edinburgh on tuesday for a few nights. I really can´t wait to see her. Will be the first time since before she got pregnant with her ds (almost 3) that we´ll be able to go out and BOTH be able to get pissed together Oh the memories.. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Just a bit excited, can you tell?!

Oh AND AND AAAAAAAND I tried on my pre pregnancy jeans and they are definitely fitting better. I could do them up a couple of weeks ago but there was a sizeable muffin top which meant I´d never actually leave the house in them. There´s still muffin top but definitely less. A few more weeks and I´m sure I´ll be back in them. I mean able-to-sit-down back in them

octoandflash · 18/08/2007 09:09

Maveta - my muffin has to come out with me .

muffins'r'us

maveta · 18/08/2007 09:15

hehe.. ´love your muffin´ is out motto...

Octo - what fake tan do you use and does it smell?

maveta · 18/08/2007 09:17

press return too fast.. I´m using lóreal tanning moisturiser (I meant to get the proper tan one but picked up this one by mistake) and I so don´t have the time or will to put it on everyday.. it also STINKS! Have tried St. Tropez and found it smells after a while too.. umm.. the johnson´s one aswell.. have you found one that doesn´t smell too bad?

octoandflash · 18/08/2007 09:49

I use the johnson or loreal one - whichever is on offer! I tend to put it on at night and then have bath to wash off smell in morning. I use the light skinned one so takes a few coats to look tanned.

Ernie gone for sleep - off for cat nap myself.

weeonion · 18/08/2007 10:32

morning folks!

octo - i will resend that cheque - i tseems it never made it to you from glasgow - hardly surprising given the post round here! hope that is ok??

ellei - sorry about yr mum. seems a case of mixed up priorities. thanks for the invite to suffolk but wont be able to make it that far. hopefully some of the other mnetters will tho'

maveta - i use the dove moisturizer and like octo - shower off in the morning. have had to get the toothpaste out a couple of times to get rid of my "tide2 marks tho'

it is due to pour downhere so we are having a day in the flat (arghhhhhhhhhhhh) goign through clothes. still havent went near prepg clothes - really cannot bring myself to face the shame!

CaptainDippy · 18/08/2007 12:57

Can't be long as need to give girls lunch (and boy ) and go see noisy aeroplanes ....

Can't remember anything, except ...

EllieK - Phoebe and I will be there.

maveta · 18/08/2007 14:10

My sis just recommended the dove one so might give that a whirl next. Do you both put it on every day or once you´ve got the colour you like can you do it e.g. every other day?

Like the idea of doing it at night and then showering in the a.m. will give it a whirl. Dh has already said I look gorgeous today so it must be working Although my mum said ´what you using that for, get out there in the sun and burn!´ yes mum, quite the motherly advice there..

weeonion · 18/08/2007 15:25

maveta - i use it every day to getthe colour i like and then just top up every other day or so. i think it can get a bit patchy if you over do it. and -- ta for my facebook comment
cd - have fun with the planes and i thought you would make it for ellie. x

mammyjo · 18/08/2007 16:48

Hello. I apologise in advance as this is going to be yet another self absorbed post. I am still having trouble with my boob which has really flared up and is now worse than ever. It is agony to feed from the one side and I have also noticed that there is a bit of blood on my breast pad.
Went to gp today (had to use out of hours service which is shit). They wouldnt do anything about it. He thought it looked like there was a splinter in my nipple (yes, I am in the habit of fence dancing with no top on) and so sent me to A+E. Saw doc there who just said use lansinoh and it will be ok. Now I know lansinoh is good, but not convinced it is that good. I asked about thrush and was basically told not to be so ridiculous. I am so , feeding on that side is agony and brings me to tears now. Dont know what else to do. Tried to contact bf advisor yesterday, but she isnt back until Monday. I was promised a call back by someone else but never got it. It makes me realise why so many people give up bf despite not wanting to, as the support network is shit.

AngeG · 18/08/2007 17:21

Afternoon

Mammyjo so sorry to hear the boob is still painful .
at out of hours doctors and A & E. Hope you get a call back from the bf advisor. Is it painful to express off that side? When I had Mastitus I expressed off the bad side as I couldn't bear to feed off it til the pain got better. Really hope it is sorted out for you soon {{{{{hugs}}}}}

CD - Enjoy the aeroplanes

Ellie - Sorry your mum is upsetting you. Seems like she has her priorities really wrong Sorry won't be able to make 9th. It is Jake's birthday on 10th and we will be doing family stuff.

Maveta hope you sort the tan out. I'm so pale my nickname was 'ghosty' at school I had a fake tan for our wedding...looked great except for the allergic reaction! Haven't dared try anything else since.

Sorry I haven't been on much...have been a bit down. Had Izzy weighed on Monday and she'd only put on 5oz in 2wks, she's never been a massive gainer but that was the worst HV wanted to talk to me but I couldn't stay made me promise to come back the next week. I'm worried about what she'll say. I've just let it get to me this week Feeling a bit brighter today and ready to face hv on Monday.

Hope everyone having good weekends xx

happimummy · 18/08/2007 17:22

mammyjo - , what a nightmare for you. You poor love. And what crappy advice . Have you thought of starting a thread on here. You might be able to get some advice? Which helplines have you called? There are abuot 4 i think, you cuold try another. The splinter thing sounds wierd . Could it be a small scab if you've bled a bit? And I assume you are popping the painkillers?? Paracetamol, ibuprofen...

Pesha · 18/08/2007 17:52

mammyjo - id also recommend starting a thread on here - ive had some great advice on thr bfing threads ive started, they've really helped keep me going. And i would also recommend ringing a different no. theres nct, la leche and um some others, hang on will find numbers for you - think they're on hunker's profile!!

Pesha · 18/08/2007 17:54

Ange - izzy's doing fine - dont let the hv make you feel bad! If she's really worried or nagging tell her ok you'll see gp see what they think, then what else can she say really?!

My baby has not stopped feeding all afternoon, grizzlinbg if i try and stop for any more than 5 minutes. Think its time for some calpol now!!

Ellie and at FranWould love to come on 9 th but have worrying suspicion it is the same day as SIL and BIL's son's christening so will have to go to that if it is Although i wasnt even invited to their ds1's but then thats another story and more dps fault.

EllieK · 18/08/2007 18:05

Pesha · 18/08/2007 18:09
