Oh oooggs, sounds like you have had a nightmare of a night. Will you get any chance for a bit of rest today. Do the dt's sleep at all through the day? F was up 3 times last night which was bad enough, but at least she went straight back after a feed. Hope you get some chance to put your feet up later. Take care xx

elkiedee · 15/08/2007 10:12

oooggs, of course I have nothing I can say to you except I'm so sorry that you have this to cope with. I would feel bad about saying what kind of night I've had whether it's been good, bad or somewhere in between, as it can't possibly be as difficult as for you with the three little ones.

Otherwise, what mammyjo said.

Katy, pmsl at the toy cow story. Glad it was just about the toy's neck!

morning

oooggs - poor you - have to say though that ernie creates that much chaos on his own last week with his ear infection I hope they have a huge sleep today and you get to catch up - its really hard when you walk around in a daze ( i also get grumpy which doesn't help!)

feeding going okay think milk is nearly back to normal

having pyjama day here - apart from ernie who is only one dressed! but do need milk so hanging on as long as poss to go out....

hang on - need to shout ...

ah yes - thats better! Installing thought in their heads that my furniture is not soft play and that feral leaping behaviour will not be tolerated!

Ernie just lies n mat and watches in awe

Have realised Horrid Henry is on tv so am recording every episode - make them see the error of their ways

I am off to snuffle the last drop of milk for a cup of tea ... and about 6 rich tea biscuits hehhahahahahahahahahaha

Think cabin fever may set in by lunchtime

mammyjo - my dh is keen for ernie to have bottle at night too - which he does - does mean I get some sleep. He has been feeding every 2 hours since feeling a bit better and it really is hard. I have realised also that ernie expects a bottle at his 11pm feed now not boobie - last two nights have tried to bf him and he has refused and screamed at me - we have been giving a ff then for some time and I think he expects it then - funny how they expect things to happen at such a young age - also how he knows when it is bedtime and not just a nap.

Gave carrot for the first time yesterday and he ate loads. On 3 meals a day now - porridge is def a favourite though. Today he is having cream of carrot puree for lunch!

Its funny how so many people comment on having 3 children during the summer holidays but the rest of the time take no notice - 'oooh you've got your hands full' is a favourite at the moment - errr yes

Will go and make that cup of tea now as am def talking to myself...

Report
mammyjo · 15/08/2007 10:41

I was just making a cup of tea! I get the hands full comment and I only have two! F is the same, knows what happens at what time of day. She will rarely sleep more than half an hour at a time during the day, but just knows when it is night time. Amazing really!

Report
mammyjo · 15/08/2007 10:43

She is having food too, but only one meal a day so far. May need to up that, as her night waking improved when we started but is getting worse again now. Her favourite is baby rice with banana in it! She is getting carrot today too.

My dad is coming down today ... Should be here by now but overslept (what's new!!?) Hopefully he is well on his way ..... DD1 needs entertaining by someone else other than me!! Going to Mini Railway (sod the bad weather!) and then to friends little girls' 1st Birthday Tea. Should be fun! Mince all ready & made for tea tonight ..... feeling organised. Ish.

I am wearing shorts.

Pesha - am sure D is doing fine, sounds like he's happy anyway.

Oooggs - sorry to hear you had such a bad night. Hope you manage to get some sleep today.

CD - have a nice day with your dad there and at the railway and the party (you sound like superwoman doing all that ). Shorts??? big no no for me! (they always make me look fat and dumpy...would love to be able to wear shorts)

DH was late for work again (not a big prob cos they're v flexible) but meant I had no breakfast, we've got no food in and it's looking like it's gonna pour down if I set off to the shops...I was v cos he'd been fiddling with the computer rather than get stuff sorted.

Erin slept in her cot for the first time last night and also in a grobag. The ones I've bought she had to be 10lb for and hadn't had her weighed for ages so hadn't been using them. I was very impressed with them, she looked so cute .

La! La! Laaaaaaaa! Hope you have a wonderful wonderful time EM - once you finally packed!

Your DH sounds so much like mine, NB - "fiddling with the computer rather than doing useful stuff." Yep. SNAP! Eat some food before you pass out -look after yourself, young lady!

Dad still not here ........

Emmy, have a fab holiday. I am very With you on the washing and ironing. Am currently tackling a pile of ironing the size of mount everest. Worst thing is that the washing currently going around in the machine will be joining it later too. Its a never ending job

CD, enjoy your day. Hope the weather holds.

Morning norma, hope you have managed to eat something now!

Weather has brightened up a lot here so it looks like our park date is on! I'm going to venture out to Highgate Woods and hope some of the others turn up. If not, I can look round some of the charity shops in Highgate or Muswell Hill while I'm out, so it beats moping around in here.

Hope it's also cheered up in Eastbourne, Leeds and of course everywhere else. Nutty, I don't suppose you have any nearby cafes that you can pop out to for breakfast? I know it's extravagant but you need to keep some energy to look after E.

Mammyjo, my dp does actually wake up and do a lot of the night feeds, and we're in a small house, but I still hate having to get up to mess around in the middle of the night with bottles. I think you're right to stick with breastfeeding as long as you want to.

Pesha, he's active, healthy and alert and he's clearly growing at 64 cm. So, he's just a different shape to some other babies.

Time to change Danny then me before I go out, so take care all.

Hello again

Have had first yell at the boys .. think may be time to get dresseD, have some lunch and go for a very long walk!

Have a fab holiday emmymummy

I haven;t had ernie weighed for yonks and I know he lost weight last week when he was poorly so not going to baby clinic as will just get stressed! He has jabs next week (2 weeks late) so will maybe get him done then.

Does anyone have a bumbo seat? Are they worth it?

Report
mammyjo · 15/08/2007 12:29

Ffion has a bumbo seat. I think she likes the fact that she can sit up by herself in it. Didnt actually pay for mine though as it was given to me by someone. Not sure if I would pay full price for one. I find she gets fed up in it very quickly. Maybe will be more useful a bit later on when she can sit and actually hold toys IYKWIM.

ickleandficklefinn · 15/08/2007 12:30

It says goes up to 22lb which isn;t very high - look good but think he may outgrow it quickly and whether just to stick to the boucy chair.

Report
Katy44 · 15/08/2007 12:42

T has a bumbo
It's OK but I think he's still a bit small, he tends to flop about in it and I don't think he can relax in it
Hope he grows into it
Enjoy your holiday Emmymummy
Weather is good here too, am now annoyed I faffed about instead of putting the washing machine on as it could be out on the line now!

I quite fancy a bumbo seat too - B is getting so big (she's on the 91st centile for height and weight, apparently) that she's almost horizontal on her bouncy chair now, and I think she'd like to sit up a bit and look around. She gets quite frustrated on her playmat after a while, as if she's bored of lying down.

Actually - does anyone know if you get bouncy chairs that are suitable past 6 months?

Well, for all of you who wished me luck for my interview and gave me kind condolences when it went badly - I didn't get the job, the lady rang this morning. I don't feel too bad about it though, because she said it was down to me and one other person, but she had more experience of medical terminology than me. Ah well - onwards and upwards!

have a fab holiday, emmymummy. And sorry to hear you had a rough night, ooogs - I know you must hear this a lot, but you deserve a medal! I don't know how you manage with twins, I'm regularly climbing the walls with just one little troublemaker.
