ROFL Maveta!

Sexonlegs · 13/08/2007 22:00

Just been watching Fight for Life on BBC1 and the lovely guy died. Cue tears! It's as if I am pg again - hormones all over the shop!

Hi Zaza's. I take my hat off to you I really do!

Sexonlegs · 13/08/2007 22:01

LazyEmma, Good luck with the interview.

lazyemma · 13/08/2007 22:06

thanks SOL. Am ridiculously nervous about it - been doing one minute typing tests on the internet to try to limber up! Wish I didn't have to go back to work, but desperately need the cash, and at least this way my husband can look after B in the evenings and I still get to spend all day with her.

geordiemacminx · 13/08/2007 22:07

God I think I could become as addicted to youtube as I am to MN

THIS IS ROFL STUFF TOO - GREAT PARENTING OR WHAT??

zazas · 13/08/2007 22:11

Good luck with the job interview lazyemma and also with the night routine!
SOL & emmymummy - not sure how I do it or if I even do - I have to admit things slide when you have so many - sometimes I just have my fingers crossed when we leave in the car that they all have shoes on and even trousers (the boys have been known to forget ) As for clean faces and brushed teeth, only on a good day!!! As for patience - ask my kids if that is true

ickleandficklefinn · 13/08/2007 22:21

expressing - well got 1/2 oz in 10 mins .... but atleast some came out!

oooggs - ask Teresa where she got her nappies from - she will know someone local - think she uses them. May be worth you having a trial kit before you buy some to see if you get on with them. I am slightly biased of course but a birth to potty like Onelife would be great for you as would fit both of them. Remember to ask for twin discount if you do buy nappies. I have tried most nappies and am on fuzzis at the moment because they are quick and easy to use, easy wash/dry and the fleece is nice and soft on babes bum. Think Maveta has been trying out birth to potty stuffables like wonderoos.

DH ran out of bedroom thinking one of ours was up when I played the tantrum clip

Night night xxx

Pesha · 13/08/2007 22:24

gmm and runny, sorry to hear that your other halfs are being rubbish about holidays. I hope there's some way that you can talk them into a change of heart, some kind of break.

lazyemma, very good luck for the interview, hope you'll let us know what happens.

JoMa, wow re rolling, how exciting, and it's nice that you were there to witness it.

maveta, well done on the running.

mammyjo, sorry that you're down, hope you get the help you need from the GP.

I've had a lovely day, my mum suggested going to her sister's house a few miles away. We caught the train - it turns out my nearest station has a lovely pram friendly ramp, the other end of the journey wasn't so easy but there were lots of people actually volunteering to help cart the pram up and down stairs going and coming home. Our visit coincided wtih my cousin and his family, so I was able to see him, his lovely wife and their 3 children for the first time in a few years . Kids are all gorgeous but sharply different in personality. Mum and aunt B fought to cuddle Danny.

Tomorrow will be less fun as D's 3 month jab appointment.

elkiedee · 13/08/2007 23:21

lazyemma, hope bedtime routine went well. What bedtime/night routines are others trying, if any?

dp gives D a bath, then I read us all a little story and dp settles him. We feed him either while reading story or after, depending on time then and when last feed was. It's not tied that tightly to the clock, just as soon as we can starting at c 6.30/7 (we try to eat our own tea before bath and between 6 and 7). Sometimes he wakes up in the night for a feed - 4 am this morning - but at least after a 4 am feed there's still some time to go back to sleep for usually.

A few weeks ago I would have scoffed at any concepts of routine or much of what I'm now doing, but it seems to be working better than not doing it was for the 3 of us.

Morning!

Good luck lazyemma for the interview today!

WCL - lovely photos of your beautiful babes

Elkie - I´ve started a routine, as much for us as for him, as a kind of winding down of the day and I have found it helps. About 7.30pm I start bathing him, little mini massage, naked time kicking on the mat, then night nappy on, about 3 stories and then we let him lie quietly on the sofa. At this point if we try and move him to the cot all hell breaks loose, if we leave him on the sofa he´s ok. He still doesn´t sleep til 9pm - 10.30pm but we´re fine with that as long as he´s chilled out and quiet.

Oooggs - further word on nappies - finn is right, i´m using mainly wonderoos - I think it generally goes two parters best for reliability, pockets best for fast drying and then either sized or one size depending on your budget. Fuzzis that finn uses are great, very neat and slim, wonderoos are a wee bit bulkier, but not much. I need quick drying because although in summer the terrace is like a drier, in winter everything takes days to dry with the humidity and lack of central heating!

Sexonlegs · 14/08/2007 08:26

Morning loves.

It is grey and wet here today - boo hiss!

Hope everyone is ok.

K has her final lot of jabs today as well Elkie - not looking forward to it at all. Gld you had a good day yesterday.

Loved the photos and videoclips btw.

Shower time. Back later. xx

emmymummy · 14/08/2007 08:28

Elkie - I had to laugh at that facebook thing as I got hit-on by a couple I was working with a few years back. They must have been in their mid-50s and weren't exactly Mr & Mrs attractive. Needless to say, I was a bit and declined their kind offer.

S had her jabs yesterday. She screamed lots, but was fine once she got home. Then she was up screaming again in the night. I tipped Calpol into her (in the dark). She's a bit sticky this morning, she must have spat most of it out.

Poopy rainy day here. Got to start packing.

CaptainDippy · 14/08/2007 08:36

Can't be too long as P is moaning downstairs & I need to think about getting to work - Pissing down here, yuk yuk yuk!!

Emmymummy - Awwww, LOVELY pics - your girls are soooo gorgeous! Have a wonderful holiday hon!

LOL @ UTube clips - LOVED the one of the tantrum - ROFL!

Lovely pics Zazas - You have a beautiful family.

Can't rmeember anything else except a lot of talk on cloth nappies - don't want to bore everyone to death, but I have used them with all three of my girls & think they are superb - Saved me an absolute fortune!!!!! Happy to "chat" if anyone wants to - just email me: captain_dippy "at" yahoo "dot" co "dot" uk

Best go - gotta get the bus to work as DH has the car.....

emmymummy · 14/08/2007 08:46

Hi CD - have a good day at work .

ickleandficklefinn · 14/08/2007 08:47

Morning - well he only woke twice last night which was great! Gave him the expresed milk in the doidy cup this morning which he liked.

Meeting up with Ernies postnatal friends this morning, ds1 tagging along and ds2 at holiday club all day - then friends coming round for tea.

I feel like we have the start of a routine coming on here ... at last!!

I have used cloth on all mine and love using it - go through phases of which ones like using!

Pissing down here too!

Have a nice day xxx

Sexonlegs · 14/08/2007 09:52

Oh no Emmy - poor S. Hope she is ok today.

CD, enjoy work !

Just made the mistake of phoning inlaws to see how B was. Seemingly Sunday night was hell. She went to bed ok, but was up at 9.00 screaming for me for an hour and a half. I wish I hadn't called. I now feel even more weepy. .

normabutty · 14/08/2007 11:29

Ok will go catch up in a sec, but here are some pics of Erin from ILs visit.
