SOL, I'm sorry to hear you're feeling ill and stressed. If it's any comfort (probably not!), I don't think you're being unreasonable either. How would dh react to maveta's suggestion? I wish things pick up a bit for you.

Hope everyone else is ok, I'm going to have to attempt to start throwing some things out now, D permitting of course!

AngeG · 04/08/2007 12:00

Hello

SOL - You sound really stressed. Hope you can sort it out with DH about today! Thinking of you hun...you know where I am.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Luce - Hope you have a great day.

Katy - I thought you weren't here Glad you didn't have any scarey spider dreams.

Maveta - Enjoy your time by the pool I would leave ebm if you know N will need a feed and formula if you're pretty sure he wont, especially if he's in a pretty good daytime routine.

Emmy - Hope you have a good day...even with loads of laundry. It's a gorgeous day today.

Got a wedding to go to this afternoon...I don't know what to wear. Bought a top yesterday...but have no trousers that look right with it Maybe I need to go shopping again

Got my smear result today...after saying it would take 10/12 weeks it came back after 4 and it was negative...WOOHOOOOOOOO. Haven't bled since my smear (4weeks ago)...which is great but I thought my period had come back Don't think I'm pg the only time we haven't used condoms was at 6weeks when I was still taking the mini pill.

Katy44 · 04/08/2007 12:04

Happy Birthday LuceWheel!

maveta · 04/08/2007 14:57

ooh - HAPPY BIRTHDAY Lucewheel! hope you have a great one.

Well that didn't go to plan. Fed ds at 12pm ish so he would have needed fed anytime between 3-4pm. I thought they'd be back by then so I sent dh off with the formula. Dh called at 3pm to say he was crying and he thinks he's hungry so can he feed him. no, make him starve. idiot. But I am quite annoyed he didn't make sure he was back in time for me to feed him Or am I just being silly? Why does it bother me that he has formula when I KNOW loads of babies drink it and it's no big deal? I don't judge anyone that gives their baby formula, so why do I make myself feel so bad about it? Can someone explain this to me??!

emmymummy · 04/08/2007 15:27

Ahh Maveta, it's called motherhood, and motherhood is one big guilt trip!

eca · 04/08/2007 16:52

not got a lot of time, just wanted to say...

joma- sounds a nightmare! Hope you get it sorted x

SOL - You need to say a BIG FAT NOOOOOO. As everyone else has said, you've been ill, you're tired, you don't need the hassle or lack of sleep. Say no girl.

Maveta - I can understand why you feel like that, I think it might have something to do with how hard you've worked/fought/slogged to feed N yourself? I know I will certainly not be giving T one ounce of ff unless it is a complete crisis and emergency. I shed too many tears and went through too much pain to be able to keep feeding him myself to 'just' give him ff iyswim?

Also, the nappies I've got to try are a couple of onelife ones, a bamboo shaped one and some terry squares! I've got a few unidentifiable ones that someone passed on to me as well which I'm giving a go! So far today I'm loving it. dh now groans when I start talking nappies. oh dear. And no leaking poo yet either

Can anyone tell me... are the shaped ones that lollipop do (with a lollipop label on) the same as the tots bots ones? Just with a different label? The look the same and I'm confused!

eca · 04/08/2007 16:54

oh, and forgot to say happy birthday Luce

mammyjo · 04/08/2007 20:10

Hello!! Hope everyone is having a good day. The sun has finally decided to appear here, bit late in the day though!

Maveta, beating yourself up about formula is totally normal I think! I have no problem with it and gave it to ds from 5 weeks but since I have bf so well established this time I just want to keep it up IYKWIM. My mum keeps asking me how much longer I am going to carry on. Why stop though?

Happy Birthday Luce! Hope you have had a good day xx

SOL, hope you have managed to sort out going to the BIL. If you did go then I hope it works out better than you imagined it would. Thinking of you tonight as its awful to be stuck somewhere you dont want to be xx

Ange, hope the wedding is good and that you got your outfit sorted!!

I was due back to work for some KIT days in September. I work for the NHS and the trust have decided that they will pay me but not until I actually go back properly. This basically means that I will work my ten days and then get the money a couple of months later. Dont get me wrong, getting it all together would be nice, but the whole point of me doing them was to give myself some extra cash when my pay drops to SMP only. Not sure what to do now as with the extra travelling to get there I will be skint.

Ellie, was just wondering about your money situation. Dont mean to be nosey, but were you on any benefits before this job? The only reason I ask is that my SIL is on them, and when she was really struggling to pay the rent the DSS gave her a loan which she just paid back at £5 a week. She got about £900 I think so dont know whether you would be able to sort anything like that. Just a thought.

mammyjo · 04/08/2007 20:13

Ange, meant to say, really pleased that your results were negative. Must be such a load off your mind.

doobypoo · 04/08/2007 20:20

Have read nowt. But want to say HELLO........Hope everyone is ok

mammyjo · 04/08/2007 20:35

Hey dooby, how are you? Good to see you!

Liath, have just scribbled down your cupcake recipe but wanted to ask, do you top them with anything? If so what? Or are they just delicious as they are!!

elkiedee · 04/08/2007 20:48

mammyjo, I think you should say to them that you can't afford the travel etc out of SMP, particularly if you're paying childcare those days as well. The keeping in touch days are I thought meant to help women do just that with work, not provide labour on credit for employers. It's not a legal requirement that you do them and it seems unfair and totally unreasonable to expect you to wait that long for your wages, is my view. Are you in a union? Presumably this will also affect lots of other women working in your workplace.

elkiedee · 04/08/2007 20:48

Dooby, hi, nice to see you pop by

elkiedee · 04/08/2007 20:55

Happy birthday LW.

mammyjo, if I were you I'd keep up bf just as long as you feel you can, and tell your mum the government and other recommendations if that helps (6 months is the government's recommendation but lots of advocates think you should go beyond that, and I would have liked to if I hadn't messed up so early on).

normabutty · 04/08/2007 21:16

Evening all,

JoMa that it's so difficult for you to work when you are trying so hard to do so.

SOL - not sure if you've gone to your BILs or not but I hope you managed to relax. You do seem v stressed at the mo and your dh should understand that.

Eca - not sure about the nappies (depite being an addict I'm not very knowledgable!!! )

Maveta - v of pool.

Katy - ARGH at spider...i'm terrified of tehm.

Mammyjo - that sounds bloomin unfair making you work and wait 2 months to be paid, I wouldn't be doing it especially when you're pay is so much lower than usual at the moment.

Hi Elkie

Ange - hope you enjoyed the wedding (and got some new trousers )

I've probably missed lots of you so sorry for that.

We've been shopping at the trafford centre today, didn't buy anything tho. Got stuck in traffic a bit on the way there . I did try on some Prada shoes, which were heavenly...no way I could afford them but I love window shopping . Have some friends coming round for lunch tomorrow so I'll be making a roast.

Off to buy more nappies/wraps

normabutty · 04/08/2007 21:17

I have one of the pink gingham flowers Fuzzi's but haven't used it yet. Also bought 2 berry plush snap in AIOs and they are fab ...would buy more but can't afford it!
