Hello you lot! Hope you are all having a good evening. Luce, hope you are enjoying the wine, I have become very partial to rose lately. Never used to touch it, was always a red wine drinker but it is yum!!

WO, have always wanted to ask, how do you pronounce C's name? I am sure it is really pretty, but I wouldnt even like to make an attempt at it myself as I am sure I would be way off!!

Norma, you have a nappy obsession!!!

normabutty · 04/08/2007 22:36

Just testing if I've moved my profile accross...

normabutty · 04/08/2007 22:37

YAY!

leakyR · 04/08/2007 22:38

Good evening ladies

Happy Birthday Luce! Hope you've had cake to go with your wine

JoMa - I hope you get something sorted. It seems like an impossible situation. Don't stay away if things are getting you down.

Sol- hope you start to feel better soon.

Norma - you have a cloth problem TBH I started with cloth to save money and hit lucky that the bumbles and Motherease airflow wraps I bought work really well for us (I have 16 nappies and 4 wraps). Would be kind of missing the point if I developed an addiction so I avoid nappy websites. Have to admit to at the cute happy heinys my friend's baby wears.

All this going back to work talk is making me feel the dread. Not going back until January but already feel awful at the thought of leaving G in a nursery.

Took G to a wedding this afternoon. It was in Middlesborough and dh and I literally didn't know anyone except the bridegroom. I'm finding babies are a real icebreaker. He was very good, cute and smiley all day and got lots of compliments. Resisted the urge to tell people I was up 5 times again last night.

Out all day tomorrow at a charity cricket match. DH is playing and I said I'd keep score. However I can't see how I can watch every ball and look after G at the same time Will be lots of willing baby occupiers there including one of my best friends who told me tonight that she is 7 weeks pg!!!! Very exciting news!

normabutty · 04/08/2007 22:42

Hey Leaky - good luck at keeping score! Oooh Bumbles, I don't have one of them LOL!!! Congrats to your friend.

weeonion · 04/08/2007 22:44

mammyjo - caoimhe is pronounced keeva. she will no doubt hate us in the future for it. the best attempt at it so far has been - "coal-ham-he" by the doctor. bless

leaky - v of g being a sociable chappy. c has started to turn out the bottom lip when strangers speak to her. bit when she does it now at my friends. where has my friendly wee girl gone?????????

weeonion · 04/08/2007 22:45

norma - yah at the profile move but no more pics????????

geordiemacminx · 04/08/2007 22:45

hey ladies

weeonion · 04/08/2007 22:47

hey gmm! how is it in scotland???

geordiemacminx · 04/08/2007 22:54

Was a bit sunny earlier - had a drive up to Loch Lomond as B's sister, BIL and kids are here for the weekend, it was nice. Raining just now though - which is go as next door were having a bbq

They are all off to watch celtic tomorrow. Part from that all normal. nowt exciting.

Not be long til you coming home - is Fraser managing ok without you?

Happy birthday Cindy.

normabutty · 04/08/2007 22:54

Ok, a few pics added!!!

leakyR · 04/08/2007 22:57

Off to bed now as cricket starts at 11am tomorrow!

WO - Caoimhe is a pretty name! G only cried during the speeches today. Think it was all the clapping and (esp) whistling.High pitched sounds set him off. He's also started crying sometimes when other babies cry. Never used to bother him much.

Bit worried that I've started Norma thinking about bumbles now

Night-night.

geordiemacminx · 04/08/2007 22:59

Whereabouts was the wedding leaky?

normabutty · 04/08/2007 23:02

Yeah you're in trouble with dh now Leaky

andonandonandonandon · 04/08/2007 23:36

Hey all - have been dipping in every now and then to catch up but not had much time to post. And now I am posting I'm just going to moan and feel sorry for myself

Having few problems with dp, we have old issues that have come up again and not quite sure where things are going. he's supposed to be styaing at his mums tonight to write me a letter so he can think it through and say everything he wants to but tbh i think he's prob down the pub!

And i am really pissed off with my mum. She said the other day she would like to have dd to stay the night as she feels they have lost touch a little and they used to be really close. NOT ds1 as he goes to dps mum to stay so has them apparently Wel no actually they have both ds1 and dd to stay and treat them both equally even though dd is not actually their grandchild. Yet my own mum who IS related to all my children is only interested in having dd. And has always been like this. Was ds1s birthday on thursday and she came round with presents after spending the whole afternoon with my sister and her dd and only stayed for half an hour. Id told dc that grandma and grandpa were coming but grandpa didnt come, apparently he'd gone to glastonbury Cannot imagine him ever doing that on dds birthday, he hasnt ever done so far. Am so that they show such blatant favourtism. At the moment ds1 doesnt really seem to notice and hugely prefers dp's parents anyway (because they like to spend regular time with him probably!) but if it gets to a point when he notices and is upset by it then they will have to treat them both equally and if they cant make time for him then they wont see her either. Its just so horrid, They've always preferred to have dd for the night when i needed a babysitter if given a choice, in fact i think they've only ever once had just ds1 and then they moaned about it, but they've never been this blatant about it before. The more i think about it the more im tempted to say actually no you cant havve just dd and not make any attempt to see ds. And my mums a teacher at a private school so has been on hols since start of july ffs so its not like she's busy or stressed with work which is her normal excuse

elkiedee · 05/08/2007 00:19

pesha, sending you virtual hugs, you sound like you need it, or would you prefer a virtual bottle of wine? On an email list I've been on for 8 years (!) we send each other hugs love and chocolate (hlc) when things are getting tough on people.

Sorry to hear things are hard with dp.

As for your mum, I think it would be entirely reasonable at this point to tell her that you treat and love your kids equally, that dp's parents also do so, and that you expect nothing less of her, that you tell her how you feel about this.

elkiedee · 05/08/2007 00:19

Anyone here have some really really good news? Hope things brighten up for all of us soon!

Katy44 · 05/08/2007 06:51

Morning everyone
I do! (Have good news) - T slept from 9.30 until 6am!! Bad news is that he appears to have swallowed his dummy
Seriously, it's no where to be found so unless he can already throw like a professional cricketer he's swallowed it.
Pesha, have you asked your parents why they seem to find it such a pain to have DS? They've (hopefully) never realised they are acting like this, would a gentle hint make them realise how unfair they're being?
LOL at coal ham hee!

maveta · 05/08/2007 08:47

Morning, great night Katy! N slept 10.30pm to 5.30am which is great, especially seeing as my mum babysat so she settled him. Poor Mum, think it´s the first time he´s given her a bit of the run around, apparently he had a right old crying fit and she went through all 7 ozs of ebm I had left with her!!! in theory he wasn´t even due a feed while I was out so I´m glad I left her with enough.

Pesha. totally agree with you re. your mum, hope you and dp find a resolution x

Lol at emmymummy at mother´s guilt, I think that´s exactly what it is. I´ve decided to get over it, I don´t have the emotional energy to beat myself up over it.

Mammyjo - that is pants re. your work, can you talk to them and renegotiate? Sounds really off.

So we want good news, hmmmm? Well, it´s SUNDAY! YAY! Which is a lovely day for relaxing with families and staying in pyjamas until lunch. Only 2 weeks until one of my best friends EVER (lol) comes out from Edinburgh to see me and... my Dad is home from working abroad next week. That´s all great news!

Noah is a sweetheart, he smiles and chats away all the time and in the last week or so you can definitely see he´s learning how to get what he wants i.e. by screaming. Not much of a crier before but now he will shout if he wants to change position, do something different, be entertained. I´ve actually found it exhausting but it´s lovely to see him growing and having preferences and it´s kind of funny to realise how he´s learnt the reaction he can force from us

Norma - total addiction! I have:

Size 1 Nappies (almost all now outgrown)
Swaddlebees OCV
Bamboozle size 1
2 x Bambineo´s size 1
Sandy´s Small
11 bimbles
6 diddy diapers

2 x ME airflow wrap
1 x Nature Babies Wrap
2 x rikki wraps

Size 2 (or medium)
6 x Bambineo´s
1 x swaddlebees´ pocket
7 x wonderoo
1 x fuzzi bunz

1 x nature babies wrap

Am going to sell the diddy diapers and keep the rest for the next baby and in size 2 I´ve found I well prefer pockets so am going to sell the bambineo´s and buy a couple more fuzzi bunz.

I think. but I don´t know..aaaaaaargh

lazyemma · 05/08/2007 08:48

Hello everyone! Haven't posted for a while but wanted to check back in and catch up with all your news.

SOKL - looks like our babies are doing their weird mindmeld thing again: Bethan is teething too, I think. Lots of dribble too, chomping on her hands, crankiness, and waking in the night crying. I've got her a "stage 1" teether from Tommee Tippee but she doesn't seem that interested in it. hmm. I've given her some Calpol on the really bad nights because she does seem to be in pain, and that helps to settle her. She's my first baby and I'm a bit alarmed by everything I've been reading about teething - apparently it can go on for months! I hope it's not as bad as this every day for months.

Other than that, she's coming on really well. She started rolling over bang on three months and now she does it all the time, she rolls right off her mat sometimes and I find her halfway across the carpet, god knows how she's done it.

One not so fun thing is that she's started crying with unfamiliar people - often, almost hysterically. I hope this is just a phase, I think people might be wondering what I'm doing to her at home.
