Know what you mean elkie, about a year before T was born we bought some stylish (and cheap!!) glass furniture, telephone table and stereo unit. Good furniture to have with a baby around.
Hope you manage to have a relaxing baby massage and the weather is nice so you can get out.

I'm planning not to be around much for the next few weeks, have been asked by work to join the interviews for some vacancies (something I asked to do). So will be working on that and other stuff for the next few weeks and in between desperately expressing so I can leave enough milk as mum will be looking after T.

Will lurk on here and post from time to time but am going to try to resist the lure of the rest of the board! Take care everyone, see you all soon xx

Sexonlegs · 02/08/2007 11:46

Bye Katy!! Enjoy the interviews.

Elkie, ikwym about getting out and about and not staying in too much. I am lucky in that with B, we have to go out to drop her off and pick her up, and go to swimming classes etc. so does break the day up a bit. I remember when B was a baby, I used to clock watch all the time, looking forward to dh coming back in and taking over.

I do need to get K in to some groups, but th trouble I am finding is that they start in September, which is when B starts school, but doing odd "shifts". She will go full time at the start of November. So, I would either have to drag her along, or leave early to pick her up from school or drop her off.

Been to the GP. Spent so long in there talking about how bad my psoriasis was that I didn't ask her to check my ears or chest. She was very good - usually I am in and out in minutes. I was there for 15 whilst she looked things up and asked me thorough questions about stress etc (which sets psoriasis off). I am going to try another type of cream, and then they may refer me to a dermatologist.

Sorry, that was such a "me" post.

Hope you are all well.

Emmy, enjoy Legoland. I would like to take B there one day.

Runny, hope you are feeling ok.

xx

Kneehighinnappies · 02/08/2007 11:47

Morning (just about) All
Hope we are all well and good, unfortunatly my internet is not very well at the mo and keeps turning it's self off
I have the virgin media men coming round to look at it tomorrow so hopefully they will fix it!

The Dt's have their last jab today.

I have been an evil mummy the last few nights I have put Lola downstairs in the spare room and slept on the couch myself.
She has been waking up wanting a cuddle at 2am EVERY morning, so mummy has had enough and for the past 2 nights I have let her go back to sleep by herself, rather than putting her in bed with me.
It seems to be working, after the first night of her waking up at 11pm then 1am then 2am and crying for an hour, last night she only woke up at 2 had a little moan for 20 mins and went back off

So next week when she is settled it will be Zed's turn!

Got to go as my little darlings are calling me.

Ta ta

eca · 02/08/2007 11:50

morning all

gmm&Katy - cute photo of your boys!

sol - hope you feel a bit better today

zazas - T is fully bf and has just started sleeping 8 until about 6. Woo hoo! BTW what did you do about immunisations? Did you say you were thinking of delaying them? T hasn't had any yet. We're think we will start them at 6months ish when we start to wean

forgotton everything else. hope you're all ok!

Katy you can't leave us!! Who will make us laugh????? Very of you having your mum around to leave T with. I'm feeling very that there's no-one near me. My sis would love to have him, but lives too far away . And my mil (who I thought would be up for helping out) doesn't seem that bothered Oh well, thank goodness dh works from home sometimes or I'd never get a shower!

weeonion · 02/08/2007 11:52

morning folks - hey to you all. hope it al goes ok for those of you with jabs and days out!

quiet day planned here, walks on the beach and by the harbour. c hs made me belly laugh this monring with her squeals ad shouts. her hands ae now the fabbest thing for her - a nice surprise each and every time she finds them. we did have some rolling over but she seems to have given up on that.

expressing?? - i used to be able to pump about 240mls out f a boob in 5-8 mins. since all this trouble - i cant seem to get much out and havent even bothered the past couple of days. anyone got it all going again after a break??

eca · 02/08/2007 11:54

sol - glad you felt you got somewhere at docs. hope the other cream helps

hi kneehigh

eca · 02/08/2007 11:56

hi wo! T loves his hands at the mo too! He especially loved them covered in calpol yesterday tasty! I understand you can build your milk supply back up, but it would probaby be an uphill struggle for you after the absess?? Not sure? When is bf not an uphill struggle??

elkiedee · 02/08/2007 12:00

Katy, we'll miss you, do come by and tell us how it's going. And what will be in the next mumsnet round-up?

weeonion, a woman at the Breastfeeding Network recommended fenugreek capsules, there's more info on the pros and cons etc online, and I did try looking for them but not in the most organised of ways, I'm about to have another look today, though I'm now trying to come to terms with putting this whole thing behind me.

eca · 02/08/2007 12:07

elkie - so sorry that the whole bf thing has been so hard for you with D. Hope that you can come to some kind of peace and resolve about it. It's hard when it all goes wrong isn't it? xx

mammyjoMcGonagall · 02/08/2007 12:07

Hello everyone! Havent been around for a good while mainly due to ds being on school hols and taking up all my time!! Bloody weather is not helping either. We have painted, made plaster of paris dinosaurs, made cakes, done drawing and anything else I can think of to entertain him when its raining. Oh please let the summer come and stay for more than 2 days!!

Runny, would be lovely to meet up again sometime. Good on you for talking about the PND. Talking really helped me when I got it after ds. Takes a lot of strength to admit that things are not right. You have got past that first and probably most difficult hurdle. Take care of yourself xxx

WO, how are you? Hope the abcess has healed.

SOL, hope you feel better soon.

Emmy, have a fab time at Legoland. I have never been but it looks great. Very expensive to get in though I think!

KHIN, I have virgin broadband and mine switches itself off all the time. Its a PITA. I have emailed and all I get is them telling me that there is a fault they know about. You are lucky to have got as far as getting someone out to look at it!!

Octo, so sorry to read about your MIL. Thinking of you all xx

Hope everyone else is ok. Am very behind with all the news and dont know when I may get back on again! Take care all xxxx

JoMa · 02/08/2007 14:45

weeonion - expressing. right, well I expressed loads in the first 6 weeks, then stopped completely until this last week (joe is 15 weeks now) when i started again. It is taking patience, and I don't always get the same amount as quickly as i used to, but i still get the same amount in the end, and the more i do it the better it is getting

maveta · 02/08/2007 15:07

Hi Everyone,

Zazas I think I missed your post asking about sleep and bf-ing. N is still fully b-fed and sleeps approx 10pm - 5am give or take an hour or two either way and falls back to sleep feeding. In fact we both do so I´m never sure how long he feeds for or if it´s more of a cuddle. He´ll then sleep til about 8.30am, be up for an hour and then back to sleep for an hour! I´m liking this routine but am totally prepared for it to change at any time!

Rolling over - yeah N still hasn´t done it again, when I put him on his front it´s like a cue to fall asleep and if he´s on his back and wants to be on his front it´s because he´s tired so he just cries.

KHIN - good luck getting your babes into a routine

WO - I gave up on expressing ages ago and kind of worry it´ll be hard to get it going again when I need to. What I read said you should try to express whatever you can AFTER a meal, not inbetween meals. It also said this will be tiny amounts at first but if you keep on at it, it should increase. But that´s just what I´ve read and I can´t say if it works or not..good luck!

Elkie - I really am sorry you´ve had such a hard time with the feeding, you always sound so sad about it and I really do know where you are coming from. You´ve done your best and that´s all any of us can do, whether we feed for 2 years, 2 days or go straight for formula. x

Eca - I like YOUR night time stretch of sleep! Not complaining as don´t want to jinx what I´ve got but an hour or so more to myself in the evening would just be amazing!

SOL - not knackered anymore?? when did that change?! very impressed hope you get help for your psoriasis

Hi Ooogs and Mammyjo!

Katy you´ll never stay away!!

And I SO don´t have a life, I just go to my Mum´s every morning after N´s morning nap. There I get tea made for me while I feed him and watch crap MTV programmes while Mum holds N. I am SO lucky to have my Mum here, believe me I know it. It is totally invaluable support.

Going to sign N up for swimming starting in October although he´s already been quite a few times. Not dunked him under water yet, I´d feel awful if he cried...

Okay, that was a mammoth post and this computer is hot on my lap so I´m off but will be back later.. helllooooo to everyone I missed, it wasn´t intentional it´s just so hard to remember everything! x

eca · 02/08/2007 15:58

oooggs - I've held back on jabs as I'm fully bf. The theory is that they have your immunity in the milk. Don't know if i'd wait if ff. He seems to be surviving so far

maveta - I'm dying to try T underwater swimming, but feel tres nervous about just dunking him! Got him booked for baby swim lessons in sept, so I'm hoping they'll explain how to introduce it etc.

katy - we can just feel your presence

Pinions · 02/08/2007 16:00

Hi ladies!

Lesley great to see you today with G!!! T has a new friend there I think!

Hope you made it back in one piece x

leakyR · 02/08/2007 16:46

As predicted he was asleep by the end of your road!

Was great to see you and T again and meet Louis (who is very cute btw).

Pinions · 02/08/2007 16:51

Yeah right - he's over the road now and is "swimming" in M's "swimming pool"!?!

Peace and quiet at least for now.

leakyR · 02/08/2007 16:58

Right def going to shops now. G has been feeding while I've been internetting. Will try and catch up properly later

Eddas · 02/08/2007 17:01

well ds will not stay still Everytime i leave him on the floor on his back I go off to do something and he's flipped himself over Typical that he chose the day dd was out to start rolling elkie my house isn't ready for moving babies yet, must start to get it ready as it'll probably not be too long before crawling dd was not rolling or crawling by six months or way after even. She was sitting at 6 months and talking but not moving!

runny that sounds like ds a few weeks ago so i'd watch out he could get nearly over for a few weeks then today the effort paid off, lol!

Just after the first time he managed it I went upstairs to get dressed, he came with me laid on my bed and fell alseep all the effort must've tired him out

I am enjoying my dd free day, tis VERY quiet ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

liath · 02/08/2007 18:03

Hi everyone,

Hope you're feeling better SOL.
Good luck trying to cut down the MN habit Katy!

Had a nice day, met up with Bumble for a wander round the park so Lucy and Jonathan had a competition to see who could drool the most!

Had a girl's night out last night - it was fantastic, haven't enjoyed myslef so much in ages. I love being a mummy but it was nice for once to be able to glam up and go out in vaguely fashionable clothes without baby sick on them AND wear a non-nursing bra .

Hope everyone is doing well - especially those with the amazing non-sleeping-feeding-umpteen-times-a-night babies .

bumble75 · 02/08/2007 18:04

Evening all,

My brain has completely gone dead so sorry this isn't more personal! But hope everyone is having a good day.

L had her 12 weeks jabs today, (I managed not to cry this time!) and got weighed - 15lbs 6oz - so still on the 98th centile but slowing down a wee bit. Her face is still in grave danger of disappearing into her cheeks! .

Had a lovely coffee and walk with Liath and the gorgeous J this afternoon - J was an angel, L not so much. As I thought, she was sound asleep the second the car started and wide awake the moment we got home... hopefully she'll need a big sleep tonight to recover .

Hopefully brain power will resume a bit more tomorrow!

x

liath · 02/08/2007 18:06

Hiya, Bumble!!
