Evening all. Hope everyone is having a good day. SOL, that passport thing is ridiculous. They are telling us that they are getting stricter and that people will be getting interviewed before obtaining a passport, but they cant even manage to address things properly. Frightening.

mammyjo · 06/08/2007 19:09

Eddas, hope the chocolate helped!

oooggs · 06/08/2007 19:19

right now dts are in a bedtime routine now to get ds1 in one!!!!!!!!!!!

he goes to bed has stories and one of us lies with him until he is asleep FFS he is 3.7. I know it is our fault. But we are starting to stop this and it isn't easy. Lie with him for 3 minutes or spending most of the evening telling him to go back to bed (also making sure he doesn't wake dts)

Oh please keep me on track, I am home alone and could very well give in.

oooggs · 06/08/2007 19:48

bloody hell take a look at this glad my childcare costs are cheap, just going to check on ds1

oooggs · 06/08/2007 19:49

he is asleep but about40 mins later than usual - am I here talking to myself this evening??????

normabutty · 06/08/2007 19:52

I'm here - just been having tea! LO is now asleep, tho will want another feed at some point.

Sexonlegs · 06/08/2007 20:06

HiOoogs, hope you get a quiet night!

Mammyho, I kwym re the passport office. I am so cross - they didn't even apologise. I am just pleased that the neighbour opened the Birth Certificate in error. I usually just chuck post away if it comes here incorrectly.

oooggs · 06/08/2007 20:09

Evening all!

How are we? I am ok, knackered as always - looking forward to tomorrow as older Dd's are in nursery all day ...... I'll miss them, but will enjoy just having a day with P.

@ passport / birth cert mistake SOL - Absolutely appaulling - letter of complaint needed, me thinks!!

oooggs · 06/08/2007 20:48

CaptainDippy · 06/08/2007 20:48

Awwwwwwwww to the sleeping pic ooggs, cuuuuute!

oooggs · 06/08/2007 20:52

thanks cd - lucky they didn't wake up!!

liath · 06/08/2007 20:54

Lovely picture, oooggs.

Very of the bed-time routine too - have failed miserably with ds. The words "rod for your back" are coming true .

SOL I can't believe those donkeys at the passport office .

CaptainDippy · 06/08/2007 20:57

My older 2 share a room and are very "hit & miss" with bedtimes - sometimes they are v.v.v.good, sometime they are awful - horses for courses - Good for you deciding to nip this in the bud now ooggs - you are super brave, it'll be fine - just give it a week or so!

oooggs · 06/08/2007 21:06

yes liath but we have had 3.7 years of bedtime hell with ds so not going down that road again

maveta · 06/08/2007 21:06

Oh Oooggs.. what a cute photo! And I´m completely shocked at some of those childcare costs on that other thread..If ours turn out to be anything like that it wouldn´t be worth both of us working.

Thanks for all the suggestions re. how to work this trip. I don´t know what to do and just need to sit and talk to dh properly about it. It´s my little sis and she´s been to mine, big sis´ and mum´s university graduations, my big sis even came back from australia for mine and mum´s (they were roughly the same time) although she actually still missed mine in the end (!) So I kind of feel like, you know, she´s the last one and her acheivement should be recognised just like everyone else´s.

But it´s so much monnnnneeeeeeeeeeeyy.... [sob]

And Mum keeps saying we shouldn´t go, it´s too much, but little sis just sits there and says nothing and I know that means she wants me to go...

fart.

emmymummy · 06/08/2007 21:15

Evening - good to see you back CD, you picked a good week to be in lovely sunny Cornwall. We go down there next week, so fingers crossed the sun stays shining.

SOL - the passport office are crap, good job you have an honest neighbour.

Oooggs - you must persevere with the bedtime routine. DD1 has always been in a good BT routine and goes to bed with no dramas at all. She gets into bed and stays there, even if she's wide awake - we have not had to lie with her/rock her etc. since she was a tiny baby. DD2 (all of 3 months now) similarly now goes to bed with no problems, OK we might have to go and shove a dummy in if she's struggling to fall asleep, but that's it. Hurrah. Good for you for now getting DS1 sorted, good luck .

Oh yes, nursery fees. Don't even get me started . The fees at the nursery Em went to (and S will be going to) are ridiculous, even more expensive than lots of London nurseries. But don't really have a lot of choice sadly, so have to pay the costs and be skint. Luckily DH and I get vouchers from our companies, so some of the fees are tax-free.

Right, dh just got in, got to try to cook something from the pitiful contents of our fridge.

Sexonlegs · 06/08/2007 21:20

Norma, thanks for the email pet. I'll have a go and see what happens!!
