Happy Birthday for yesterday Luce!

WO - have been very slack and still need to go and buy webcam, is on the list today. PMSL at the Dr's attempt to pronounce C's name!

GMM - love the story about your Grandad and the number plate.

JoMa - hope you can sort something out, would be such a shame to have to give up a job you like so much

Had the afternoon off yesterday to get my haircut - bliss! Then met a pal in town for a drink, was so lovely - the weather was great and there is a buzz about Edinburgh at this time of year. And I am such a cheap date - one glass of wine and I'm half pissed!

Have a great Sunday everyone!
x

Katy - good luck finding the dummy! L has managed to whack her dummy across the room a couple of times, also sometimes manages to get it tucked under her shoulder, v hard to find when it's dark!

maveta · 05/08/2007 09:51

lol bumble - that´s why we have at least 3 dummies on the go at any one time!

Hi Lazyemma!

Ahh.. edinburgh in august, I used to love festival time when I lived there..in amongst the usual moans about bloomin´ tourists - takin´ up all the pavement and gettin´ in the way of people who actuall want to go somewhere - grumble grumble bah humbug

emmymummy · 05/08/2007 10:07

Morning - apologies, haven't read through but will catch up later....supposed to be putting together an ad to sell dh's car in Auto Trader at the mo, but thought I'd come here first (priorities and all that....).

Am a bit at the mo. All this foot and mouth stuff...the farm where it was found is just down the road from us (we're in the exclusion zone), and the virus has come from Pirbright....Emily goes to school in Pirbright. Am quite relieved it's the school holidays or we'd be driving through all the press & road blocks every day (that's assuming the school would be open). Hope it all gets taken under control and that it's a one-off incident, as I feel so for the local farmers.

On a happier note, it's our 12th wedding anniversary today (although dh is at work). The sun always shines on August 5th, it really does .

mammyjo · 05/08/2007 10:20

Have you seen the news this morning EM saying that the virus has come from the place where they were making a vaccine just down the road? Bit dodgy that it has managed to find its way to the farm if that is the case. I really feel for the farmer if its true, as he has done nothing wrong and will lose his entire herd for it.

Have a good day everyone. Lovely and sunny here so hope to get out for a bit. Dh doing my head in moaning he is tired. Yeah ok, try getting up at least once a night (and often much more) for several months then tell me you are tired

WO, I knew the name would be pretty! I did wonder if you said it something like that as I knew how to pronounce Niamh. Lol at the doc though!!

Re work, I am in a union and am seriously thinking about going to them if payroll or HR dont come up with a better answer for me. Waiting to hear from my manager next week so will bide my time until then.

mammyjo · 05/08/2007 10:21

Happy anniversary EM!

mammyjo · 05/08/2007 11:18

normabutty · 05/08/2007 12:37

Quick note cos we have visitors arriving soon. In the middle of making Sunday Lunch now (roast beef!).

Maveta - I'm not too sure about pockets yet, can't decide if I love them or hate them . Have to say though that the Berry Plush Erin wore last night contained her poo totally (this was her first night-time poo) so I am sooooo impressed with them, they dry really quickly too and are so simple to use!

CaptainDippy · 05/08/2007 14:11

BOO!! She is back!! Did ya' miss me!!!?

Have a strange feeling that I am not going to be able to catch up in a million years - Have had summary from Ellie, so know the latest big bits of news ....... anything else I should know about ..... Could someone fill me in on the story behind the thread title??

Octo - I was so to hear about your MIL - did get ellie & ange G to pass on my condolences, but though I would take the opportunity to do it "in person" as well. A release from suffering, but v. for yuou all too!! {{{{hugs}}}}

Had a lovely holiday - lots of lovely sunny weather and trips to the beach - feeling v.tired now; but it was definitely worth it - Good to get away from it all!

Ooooh, mammyjo - got your cheque- thank you! Have posted off my cheque to Bubbaloo who was apparently stalking me while I was away - I have had the cheque ready to send to her since the end of May - haven't recieved any of her emails!! Oh well, all sorted now!

normabutty · 05/08/2007 17:31

Well we've had a nice day here. Our friends brought Erin some bookends. After our roast and the cheesecake pudding we went for a walk into town and had a coffee sitting outside the cafe. It's lovely and sunny here today.

Hi CD - nice to see you back!!! Glad you had a nice holiday

normabutty · 05/08/2007 17:37

mammyjo · 05/08/2007 19:24

Hi all. Sun has now disappeared! Its grey but warm. Feels like stormy weather. Pants.

Hey CD! Glad to hear you had a lovely holiday. Thanks for letting me know you got the cheque. So sorry for taking so long to send it to you Am having a bit of a BF issue at the mo. Pain on the one side. I know you are clued up on these issues so would be grateful if you get chance to have a look at my thread. Bit stressed about it to be honest. I have had such an easy ride on the whole and dont want to be stopping now. Thankyou

oooggs · 05/08/2007 19:40

hello all I am here - now off to read & catch up

flashfinn · 05/08/2007 20:00

octo here! Decided was time for a name change

Have been busy keeping dh busy. Went to Woodlands outside Dartmouth - had fab day out, satruday went to Argyle v Bristol Rovers - won 7-3 Ted and Ernies first match - Ernie had his photo taken with Pilgrim Pete

Been on beach all day today - so lovely - very busy! We have all caught the sun despite lots of cream but have not burnt which is good. Caught lots of crabs etc and boys sound asleep now.

Ernie is very hungry these days so am slowly moving onto bottles - was going down the food route but have decided formula/breast for rest of holidays then back onto food in September - there has been so much disruption to his little life am going to keep it simple for a bit! Will try to give food when remember!

Twice recently I had picked him up in the night to wind him/give him cuddle and he has latched on without me intending him too He obviously likes bf just insn't getting enough to make him happy all the time.

I have to say that I would really quite like some nice bras now.

He can roll from tummy to back and is really trying to roll back to front - very cute - lots of grunting and stretching but no luck yet. He is really smiley at the moment and has a great laugh

tmi alert - my period started yesterday and it really heavy - soaking through tampon/pad in an hour - not very pleasant and quite draining. My sister said she had it after her second so am assuming is normal?? Was hoping would not get period for a bit longer but have def ovulated twice.

flashfinn · 05/08/2007 20:02

oooggs - I am aronf monday and wednesday if you want to do something.

flashfinn · 05/08/2007 20:02

around not aronf

flashfinn · 05/08/2007 20:05

eca - is the lollipop one cotton or softee fabric? If it is the white softee one then it is like the fluffle.

I am so pleased there are so more nappy addicts out there now I am into my fuzzis now.

joma - your work situations ounds terrible - can you apply for some kind of help from the Council for nursery fees - they have grants in Wilts to help people. Or you could move to Brighton!

JoMa · 05/08/2007 20:13

liking the new name flashfinn

Sadly Suffolk is rather backwards and has absolutely nothing to help parents. I've rung the County Council even and nothing. Just have to wait on the agency and see if there is anything they can do to help me.

mammyjo · 05/08/2007 20:17

Thanks flash for your message on my other thread. Grateful for any advice I can get.
Hi Ellie, hope the agency can sort something for you. It seems insane that you are getting penalised for wanting to work. If only there were more people wanting to work and not just claim benefits for the sake of it. I am referring to my SIL here who is a lazy bloody hag. (Will think happy thoughts now or will start to rant about the slovenly cowbag)!

normabutty · 05/08/2007 20:22

JoMa or Flashfinn - help with mei tai please!!! Where do Erin's legs go when she's in it...i think i'm being thick
