((i'm apologising now for asking about anything you all have already discussed recently, there's waaaay too much for me to read back on, only browsing the recent stuff to hate me for making you repeat yourselves/ ))

Well hello hello ladies and 1 year olds!!! i hvae been away for ages and i just know i've missed soooo much! ((makes me kinda sad, actually )

just been keeping really busy with house and diet and of course baby dude, Fynn. oh and of course, i've been incredibly sidetracked with the diet forums/threads ((as usual, allll the extra support helps so thats why i've been there 24/7))

righty!! first and foremost,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to those it applies to up til now! i hope it was a lovely day no matter what sort of celebrations you put together for them, great or small.

and 2nd, i've bet i missed so many lovely "firsts". i'm still amazed with all the new little things fynn starts doing. yesterday, he just started doing the hand clenching/palm thingy to wave hello. and last week, he started walking!! i was very surprised at that, because he didnt seem like he was at all intersted. i think DH encouraged him on. ok ok ok i think i should REALLY say that dh bribed him to step forward. lol ((amazing what a baby will do to be tossed up in the air lol))

i'm happy about it as its terribly cute that he's such a little human. but at the same time, terrified with him falling into corners (trying to cover them all with softy things).

bristols how's the pregnancy coming along??? oh and happy belated birthday to you! (and anyone else i've missed recently)
how far along are you now??

cori if they've already passed, what did you do or organise 2 bdays this month? did you get away with celebrating them together? (cant remember how close in age your lo's are, but i know they are both in sept.) oh and the plans are still on for us to start trying again in november/december. ahhh i luv september babies!

alrighty, hello to those i've missed, i'll do my best to keep up...i feel sad that i've missed it all up to now with your lo's.

bristols · 14/09/2007 09:32

Thanks Munki. How is the diet going? You must be getting lovely and slim by now...

I am 17 weeks pg today! The time has flown and I am feeling a bit bad because I was meant to have my blood taken for the quad test during week 16. I haven't had it done Will do it today and hope for the best. It's all changed since we had our Sept babies. You now see the m/w at the very beginning and not again until 28 weeks! Hence, I forgot to get my blood taken. Oops.

Everything has been busy here. DS still full of cold. We're going away for the weekend this evening so I have been frantically packing this morning. I'm off to work in a bit, finishing at 7 and we're setting straight off. Am desperately hoping DS sleeps for the journey as I think it will be a good three and a half hours. Ugh.

Have a lovely weekend, all

hi all,

not managed to get on again for ages.
Just wanted to wish everyones' lo's happy birthday.
DS2's birthday is tommmrow and we are having a party for him, we have about 30 people coming and a dozen kids
because alot of them are ds1's friends i have had the pleasure of having to make up party bags for them all - so bloomin expensive!!
And i have just finished decorating his 'monkey cake' which i have to say i am quite pleased with!

I bought him his 1st pair of shoes on monday but he will not keep them on, in fact he refuses to even wear socks!

Hopefully i will be able to get on here and chat to you all a bit more now.

Hi everyone and Happy Birthday to all lo's
And especially yo Coriander's Jack tomorrow

Highlights of our very small party was the fact that it was very small (ds' was much too big and too overwhelming for him) and everyone had a good time except....

poor dd (the birthday girl) who projectile vomited all over everywhere dutring it and had to be put to bed. Such a shame she didn't hit MIL

Hey everyone!

Happy birthday to DS for yday Mabel! I'd forgotten we were a day apart! J is tomorrow & whilst I tap away DH is wrapping his pressies - nothing too imaginative I'm afraid just a wooden tool box & three little cars from ELC.. (oh & DD has "bought" him a cement mixer..lol

Munki..DD is the 4th! She had her first party this year given that she was 3. She was more aware this year having been invited to others etc so we felt we should do something & it went really well. She had a farm party - i.e at the local farm with games in the hay (!!) tractor ride, feed the animals & tea & cake. It was lovely it really was. As for J, we're not doing anything tm - we went out for lunch today with PIL to sort of celebrate - they bought him a bumble bee wheely bug which was great as they'd already got one for DD 2 years ago - treating them the same etc etc!!! Monday we're off to Portugal so I'll finally have to summon the urge & courage to pack!!! We didn't do anything for DD's 1st so I don't feel bad

Gosh 17 weeks bristols?! Nearly half way!!!!!!!!!! After having a very broody two weeks today, it's suddenly gone..

Are any of you on facebook?! It just seems that pratically everyone I know is on there...

Coriander73 · 15/09/2007 19:42

thanks compo...we've just crossed!!!!

It's just incredible to think it's been a year.......

Coriander73 · 15/09/2007 19:43

lol at projectile vomiting not hitting MIL...!

MunkiBaby · 15/09/2007 22:46

Happpy birthday to mabel & cori's LO's!
Cori, have a lovely time in portugal as well!! ((jealous!!!)) oh, an i've only just joined facebook last week...totally addicted to it.

Ds isnt due to be 1 until later in the month...25th! i'm looking forward to his first bday lunch out with MIL (even though she tends to be a younger version of Hiyacinth Bucket . lol dh and i tend to look over at one another just briefly enough to catch a slight rollling of the eyes when she gets all 'room for a pony' about her things...)) she can be hard work. like today, we all headed out to ikea in warrington...about 1 & 1/4 hours drive away. had a nice time, bought lotsa stuff as usual...but my gooodness, im emotionally and physically drained. i think small doses of her is the best way to have a sane relationship.

anyways, should be a nice quiet lunch..then back to hers for fynn to have his own stodgy chocky cake. i'll get pleasure just seeing the cakey mess at hers and not mine for a change. muwahwah. wow i sound evil tonight..she's nice, but ...well, we all know the story..

Righty, who's turning 1 in the coming week then? i'm sure there's at least another 2, right?

hope all is well for everyone!

fairysnuff · 16/09/2007 00:23

My B turns 1 on Wednesday

We have DH parents and brother coming up at the weekend. Mum and I will organise something for them all.
Know what you mean about MIL Munki, mine isn't Hyacinth bu'ket but she talks for Britain. I have to warn DH not to leave me too long in her company or I will go mad!!
But I love her to bits, she has a heart of gold

compo · 16/09/2007 18:08

ok, so how many of you turned on the heating last night?? i held off, but i think i'm going to put them on for a tiny bit to take the bite off. ((if i didnt have ds, i'd just pile on more clothes and deal with it)). and for the first time ever, his Egg room thermometer is in the blue, where it has been for the last 24 hours. plus, i think tonight is going ot be coler than last night...3celsiuc i think is the low where i am. brrrrr!!! and thats not me being sad, thats me with a cold face! lol

MunkiBaby · 18/09/2007 15:25

...oh, one more thing...
im on the hunt for a pair of braces and a clip on bowtie for fynn...
help! any ideas on where i can get these things without paying a small fortune? doesnt have to be top quality because he's only going to wear them a few times im sure!

((only think i can find on ebay ships from canada.. ))

MunkiBaby · 18/09/2007 16:09

nevermind! i found them newly listed on ebay. ;)

mabel1973 · 19/09/2007 08:28

HI all

lol at the MIL stories - not just me then

munki - yes heating has gone on, i am wrapping the DS's up in woolly jumpers!

DS2's party was fantastic, he really took it in his stride and everyone seemed to enjoy it. The highlight being that one of our cats who had been missing for over a month turned up mid party - it was really strange that she chose then to come home, but lovely, no idea where she's been, but she is a little thin.

Dh is off all this week, so we have managed to get out and about, which has been nice.

compo · 19/09/2007 13:12

Ooh yes we have the heating on here too - it's suddenly got cold hasn't it?

Dd had her MMR this morning. I just posted this thread about it:

"Today dd had her MMR. The nurse said we had to go back in 4 weeks for Hib, Men C and the Pneumacoocal vaccine.
I looked in my red book and dd had Hib and Men C at 2,3 and 4 Months.
The book just says MMR and then nothing until the 2nd MR at 3-5 years.
I think the pneumacoccal one is the new one but is it right she should be havng more Hib and Men C?"

Anyone had the same? I'm a bit worried because the nurse was new and asked me if i had the letter I was sent saying what she was meant to vaccinate today!!! For goodness sake you would think it would be on the computer wouldn't you?

OP posts:
compo · 19/09/2007 13:33

found this which put my mind at rest

Not sure why she had her MMR at 12 months instead of the standard 13 months though

mabel1973 · 19/09/2007 15:59

compo - i have had a reminder for hib and men`c come through, it said to book him in shortly after 1st birthday.

I didn't do ds1's mmr til he was 14 months, i will hang on a bit with DS2 as well, just so he gets chance to get over the hib and men c.

bristols · 19/09/2007 17:25

Hi all, had a fantastic time away with my school friends. We were meant to come home on Monday but DH managed to pull a few strings and got some extra days off work so we came home today. Stayed in a huge converted barn which was really luxurious and fantastic for the DCs. Was really relaxing.

DS has had his men C, pneumococcal jabs. Haven't heard anything about MMR yet though. I think MMR can be anything between 12 and 15 months.

Feeling pretty nippy here. I do love this time of year. I know it's sad to see the summer go (what there was of it) but I love the crisp, sunny mornings and the way the leaves change and fall. We got married on 3 October because I love autumn so much!

compo · 19/09/2007 17:31

Hi again Munki & everyone - seems like we've all been keeping busy!

LOL Compo re a week ago's projectiole vomiting ... haven't been on since

Bristols - sounds like a great vacation; excited for you as pg's coming along!!

It's felt so much busier since having 2 -- but DS1's so enamored of DS2; even seems a bit listless when James is taking a nap, etc. & can't play with him!

James now walking 10+ steps at a time & has taken a liking to a baby snack called "crunchies" - they're basically baby Cheetos Think he'd eat the whole can at a sitting if he could! His personality is really coming in full force & he keeps us laughing. Which right now is good.

Right now am making cc's of homeowner docs for Mom and Dad, who bought our townhome in Houston yesterday. They were renting it while we were here in Arkansas & decided they wanted to stay - we were more than happy to sell it.
As it is we may end up having to take on 2 mortgages at once if this house doesn't sell Now DH's company has given us a deadline of Nov. 1 to get to Houston . On the positive side it will be good to be able to actually live in my own house again, rather than be called to clean up at a moment's notice. And has been fun looking on HAR.com at houses.

The weather is cooling here, too. 30F difference between night and midday now. By Halloween it will be very cold here; hope we get to stay so the DSs can be Buzz Lightyear & a tiny Spock from Star Trek

mabel1973 · 24/09/2007 07:53

Hi all

hope evryone is ok, it's been quite quiet on here lately!

Anyone else having trouble keeping shoes on? I am convinced DS2's shoes are too small. He was measured at Clarks and she said that the 3.5 was too big, but the size 3 is excatly the same size as his foot with no growing room and he is constantly kicking them off...he hates them!

Well after missing DS2's birthday party the in-laws are now back from their holiday. They wanted to come up on sunday morning to see the boys but we'd already made plans to go out and even though we said we we'd pop round later, Dh's mum has just acted like a spoilt child and was just really awkward (even though they weren't doing anything later on), so in the end we didn't go...so now she's missed out on seeing the boys. I despair. I think DH is at the end of his tether!

I am still potty training DS1, and i think we have finally turned a corner and he is doing really well now and the accidents are getting fewer he even asked us to stop the car yesterday whilst we were out.

compo · 25/09/2007 09:49

Well done with the potty training Mabel. Grr at your inlaws though - they sound like my parents, are on holiday for most of the year and then were most put out when they wanted to come during the week and I said I was at work and kids in nursery!!

No shoes here as no walking yet. She is trying to pull herself up but hasn't managed it yet. Can't wait to go mad buying girlie shoes though - dh is going to freak when he relaises he'll have to buy more Clarks shoes soon

OP posts:
Myrtle1 · 25/09/2007 10:51

Hello,

Can relate to the in-laws/parents probs. My step mum has no children and so loves DS. She'd arranged a meal for us all to go out when they visit in december so we'd asked neighbour if she will babysit. Step mum wanted to take DS too and has booked a private room so DS can come and sit in pushchair but we don't see the point as he should be asleep at that time and undoubtedly he won't sleep if he's in a pushchair in restaurant with lots going on. Anyway we told her and she was stroppy but we figured its because she loves showing off to her brother what a great grandmother she is and my dad is contstantly saying how great she is with ds and ds thinks she's wonderful etc etc. (She's very insecure). It annoys me as DS loves us all so why do we have to make a big point of him loving my step mum?? Anyway rant over, we had a fab holiday on the isle of wight and DS loved his birthday pressies and cake

Coriander73 · 25/09/2007 14:52
