Well its one year exactly (hopefully ) since I started the first Due April 2007 ante natal thread. How life has changed in that year, for the better on the whole!

It makes me quite nostalgic to be doing this, as it means it is a full year since finding out I was pregnant with Ffion.

I would like to thank all the ladies on the April 2007 thread for all your support, laughter and general madness which has kept me going on many a rubbish day!! You are an amazing bunch of people and I am really pleased to have shared this journey with you all.

Here's to another fun filled year!!!!!!!

Gosh - what strong bubbas you all have!! P's still quite flippy floppy .....

Do tell us when you know more about your MIL, octo hon.....

I have the Ellie, Matthew & Joe Show descending on me tomorrow - Whooooo! Hooooo!

DD1 is a "Graduation / DH's Birthday Baby" and DD2 is an "Anniversary Baby" .... Think DD3 was a Belated Birthday Baby for me or an Early Anniversry Present!!

NearlyHeddaslessNick · 23/07/2007 21:33

CD, have you heard i'm coming to meet you on weds

liath · 23/07/2007 21:54

Hi! Hasn't the last year flown!!

Octo, your poor MIL .

WO, hope your boob is on the mend & you're enjoying your time in Ireland.

Mammyjo, ds is also very erratic at night - anything from 1 to 5 feeds . No real daytime routine and he still cluster feeds in the evenings. Have resorted to a bottle of EBM tonight as the nips were sore again. Have no idea what's normal - dd was fully FF at this age and sleeping through so I've no experience what a BF baby is supposed to do!!

Had a lovely trip to the Highlands, though it was chilly. Haven't been on MN much due to Harry Potter but finished now - really good, will need to reread them all now.

at the flooding down south - must be awful to be anyone stuck there.

CaptainDippy · 23/07/2007 21:57

NO - I hadn't!!!!!!!?

Sexonlegs · 23/07/2007 21:58

It is so quiet on here tonight. Have you all gone and got lives?? I bet it is flipping Harry Potter isn't it??

Liath, glad you had an enjoyable trip to the Highlands.

Off to bed now as am truly exhausted. K has slept loads today, and am hoping she sleeps ok tonight.

Night all of you lovely ladies. xx

NearlyHeddaslessNick · 23/07/2007 21:59

cd, i'm sure ellie will tell you!

SOL, try msn

CaptainDippy · 23/07/2007 22:01

Night SOL!! I am not being Harry Pottered as DH is reading it 1st (lovely, kind wifie that I am!!)

Well I spoke to ellie not so long ago and she didn't mention it, Eddas - feeling exciting though - hope the weather is lovely!!

oooggs · 23/07/2007 22:02

no harry potter sexonlegs - msn

weeonion · 23/07/2007 22:15

evening folks! a whole year - love the possible conception stories! i know ours was the 24th july so almost anniversary of that!

wonder what all will have happened to us al in the next year and how many will have another bubba on the way!!!

hope none of you have been flooded out - bloody weird to see it on the tv - especially as it is so hot here in ireland!

at all the bubbas eating, sitting up and rolling over. just waiting on news of the first tooth to have cut!

AngeG · 23/07/2007 22:19

Hi WO - How are you?

AngeG · 23/07/2007 22:19

Hope the boob is healing well.

elkiedee · 24/07/2007 00:19

Home now. I wouldn't have conceived at the point the first April 2007 thread was started. Is there one for 2008 yet?

Katy44, thanks for your concern. Yes, umm, I was a bit silly last night and started tormenting myself with the kind of thread I think I just shouldn't read. Certainly I shouldn't post in that mood I think I need to write something about what happened to me in gory detail and get it out, maybe my own thread or just a link somewhere.

Octo, sorry to hear about your mil.

Ellie, hope you enjoy Eastbourne.

Take care all.

maveta · 24/07/2007 06:46

Helloooo!

Octo - sorry to hear about your MIL and hope the tests come back with some positive news for you all.

Elkiedee - sounds like maybe pouring whatever it is all out might help a bit, even if you do it under a pseudonym for anonymity. I´m not sure what the topic is but just bear in mind that MN can be harsh at times so if you are looking for replies, they might not always be the ones you want IYKWIM. It can be cathartic and it can also be the last thing you need when the whole world and his dog gives their opinion on something close to your heart. If you don´t need anonymity, sometimes it´s best to offload inside a thread like this, that way fewer random people will jump in. Thinking of you anyway x

CD - N is still pretty floppy too.. he did roll over from front to back the other day but it took about 15mins of grunting, groaning and wiggling and I think since then he´s decided it´s not worth the hassle!

Dhs birthday and poor lad had to be up at 6am to go get his mum and take her to the hospital for some tests. He thought he´d have to wait til lunchtime to open his presents (and was gutted, he´s like a little boy with presents...) so I got him to change N and went and got his pressies and put them on the bed so he could open them while we stayed tucked up he was chuffed to pieces. But we were knackered and went to bed at 10.30pm yesterday(!!!!) so am now pretty wide awake and can´t get back to sleep. N slept from 10am to 4am (quick feed during which we both fell asleep) then woke at 6am to open daddy´s pressies (the sound of the paper had him mesmerised) and is now asleep again.. THIS routine, I can live with

Been feeling a bit lonely lately, a lot of my friends have been crap to say the least. Only 1 has made a great effort, she calls me at least every other day and comes out to see me once a week. She´s been such a star. The next best person has called me about 4 times in 3 months! One of my other close friends lost her dad when N was born so she went home for 2 months to be with her family. She´s been back a month now but I´ve only seen her twice in a bigger group. I´d love to see her, to check she´s okay etc and I do call but she´s always busy On Wednesday I´m meeting another english mum who´s got a baby girl 2 months older than N. It´s my mum´s beautician she´s my age and we have some friends in common but have never met. Still, I feel a bit of a desperate dan being set up but tbh it would be so nice to know another english mum in RL... and she sounds lovely.

Blah blah lordy me I´ve got my waffle hat on this morning

JoMa · 24/07/2007 08:35

you know the answer to that then Maveta, invite us all to move in

geordiemacminx · 24/07/2007 08:48

morning ladies!!! I will NOT be spending all day on here as I have house to tidy, shit to sort and pack in prep for heading away tonight!!.....Aye right!!!

Maveta, i'm sure you'll have a lovely time at your blind play date..sometimes you just have to swallow your pride a little... I dont know many people up here either, I hijacked a woman in my estate last week that has a baby a few months older than C to ask her what she did and if there were any classes on,... I'm sure she thought I was made, but hey - who cares!!!!

Joma - you've been quiet, everything ok??? When do you start your new job?

maveta · 24/07/2007 08:50

JoMa - I said LONELY not INSANE.

GMM - yeah I know, you are right, I guess making friends has just always happened naturally until now so it´s kind of a new feeling. But she does sound nice and even if we don´t become new bezzie mates (lol) it will be nice to have someone to hook up with for the occasional coffee.

Katy44 · 24/07/2007 08:51

Morning everyone
We're back to 2 feeds a night At the 4.30 one I tried just giving him his dummy to see if he just wanted soothing back to sleep, felt terrible when he started crying with hunger
When do they start sleeping through the night??

JoMa · 24/07/2007 08:51

get used to it maveta, until the others have children you will have to become a sad loner with only internet friends like me

JoMa · 24/07/2007 08:53

really does depend on the baby katy, some as early as a few weeks, some not til over a year

JoMa · 24/07/2007 08:54

gmm, i'm fine thanks, just Matthew wanting to play (doesn't the boy know i have an MN addiction to feed?), and things to do ready for work, I start on Monday

geordiemacminx · 24/07/2007 08:57

maveta - just think - she'll be able to do your nails and stuff for free.

joma thats ok then... you getting nervous yet?

Katy... c slept from 8 til 6 last night... no feeds in between.. although you can take satisfaction in the fact thatv i woke up soaked as i decided to go braless...

JoMa · 24/07/2007 09:13

yeah, excited, nervous, scared stupid

just spoke to the agency, they haven't worked out how I do my keeping in Touch days yet, have left them to it. they know that if they mess me around again there will be hell to pay! the girl that was my contact has left and the new woman seems much more clued in and I have much more confidence in her

Katy44 · 24/07/2007 09:28

gmm
and he's younger than T as well - not fair!!!

geordiemacminx · 24/07/2007 09:35

he hasnt woke up uring the night sice 5 weeks..... doesnt sleep at all during the day mind which isnt very helpful for getting housework done...although bouncey chair in front of mtv usually keeps him entertained for 20 minutes [bad mummy emoticon]
