Well its one year exactly (hopefully ) since I started the first Due April 2007 ante natal thread. How life has changed in that year, for the better on the whole!

It makes me quite nostalgic to be doing this, as it means it is a full year since finding out I was pregnant with Ffion.

I would like to thank all the ladies on the April 2007 thread for all your support, laughter and general madness which has kept me going on many a rubbish day!! You are an amazing bunch of people and I am really pleased to have shared this journey with you all.

Here's to another fun filled year!!!!!!!

I love living in a village - can't imagine living anywhere else now - except in a cottage in cornwall with a sea view and steps down to a good surfing beach ... maybe when we retire!!!

Pesha · 24/07/2007 23:30

Hi elkie - sorry x posted then internet went silly!

I did tell dp to help and he said he didnt care and i said sorry i hadnt realised what a moron he was that he couldnt have a simple opinion on something Then later he started to say something that was just repeating what I'd said so i told him not to pretend to feel a certain way about things if its not how he feels and he said well he got called a moron for not having an opinion and i said yeah but if he is a moron just be a f*#ing moron and ill do it by myself! Then he went to football training!

Have forgotten what else you said now!

OCTO - Just be grateful there was only one hedgehog in your garden and not twohedgehogs

Pesha · 24/07/2007 23:31

sorry i meant oooggs

Pesha · 24/07/2007 23:32

Oooh do you think theres many council houses with sea views in cornwall?

octo · 24/07/2007 23:33

Do I have hedgehogs???

I am off to bed xxx

Am going to Devon tomorrow night - to a commune by the sea - oooggs will probably fill you in!

Will let you know if get any news re mil.

octo · 24/07/2007 23:34

I bet there are council houses with views somewhere! Where do you live Pesha???

liath · 25/07/2007 08:23

Morning all,

Raining today but yesterday was sunny so I went to the fantastic family park near Dunbar with my sister and a friend plus assorted kids and had a really brilliant day. Dd came back filthy and knackered - DH whisked her off for a bath and regretted it when she did an ENORMOUS poo in it .

Off to catch up with some of my NCT group today which will be nice as we haven't been all that good at keeping in touch lately.

Pesha, I think I'd compromise a little on a house if the garden was a good size.

We must do another Scottish meet sometime!

Katy44 · 25/07/2007 08:32

Hi everyone
Weeonion - glad to hear your positives! I know what you mean - it's natural to post asking advice so it always sounds negative. What is your scan checking for?
Leaky, glad it went well yesterday, hope the next one goes well.
Pesha - difficult decision! Obviously the garden, countryside and schools are a big plus but we don't have enough room where we are and it's a nightmare!! (sorry, but it is ) What's the local school like where you are?

maveta · 25/07/2007 08:35

LOL at Pesha´s convo with her dp! hahahah... the new house sounds like it´s got a lot of pluses Pesha.. I also think you should see if she likes your house on friday. If she does, maybe go back and look again with a view to really considering how you´ll fit everyone and their stuff in. You don´t want to downsize too much but the area does sound lovely and you seem pleased with the garden and the lounge which are, after all, the main living areas. If the boys have the big room they can also have a play area so it won´t matter if the other rooms are small, they´re only for sleeping! How exciting, keep us posted!

Oooggs.. what a wuss - hedgehogs don´t do anything! (i would have probably done the same...)

Well approx. 8.30pm yesterday N woke up crying. Tried to feed him but quickly became apparent that he needed a poo and wasn´t managing. Cue lots of vomiting, screaming etc etc. We weren´t have any luck calming him when sis turned up at 9pm (luckily we´d already put the reservation back to 10pm in a last bid attempt to still go out). BUT she turned up with... drum roll please... MY MUM! YAY MUM! So Mum took him and managed to calm him and told me to give him some gripe water which seemed to calm him a bit more (have never needed the stuff so didn´t even think of it). She promised to stay with them until he fell asleep so by 9.30 we were on our way.

Had a lovely meal and N was asleep when we got back at 1am and stayed tha way til 6.45am!!!

Still not pooed though and this a.m. we´re back to crying, straining and vomiting. any advice?

maveta · 25/07/2007 08:41

morning katy and liath!

so annoyed - ordered baby sunglasses for n over 2 weeks ago from us company. emailed them yesterday to ask why i hadn´t received them and got one line reply back.. no dear ... sorry for delay. nothing. just ´the colour is not in stock. we have other colours in stock if you would like to substitute. that was it! no info on what colours, no thanks, no kind regards!! i´m so p´d off!

Katy44 · 25/07/2007 08:43

not sure maveta, do you think some water would help? poor little boy

Katy44 · 25/07/2007 08:48

Pick a colour they're not likely to have (anthracite green?) and keep doing it till they send you an apology and list

Sexonlegs · 25/07/2007 10:00

Morning ladies.

Leaky, glad the appt went well yesterday.

Pesha, a hard decision, but I have to say I favour more house space, but that is just me.

Liath, pmsl at dd doing a poo in the bath for dh! Good timing.

Maveta, cool boiled water should help with N and his poos.

All ok here. Had K weighed yesterday, and is 12 pounds. She has only put on a pound in 4 weeks. The HV seems ok with that, so I am not worried.

No trouble pooing here. K crapped all over her bouncy chair this morning!! As if I haven't got enough washing to do [scream emoticon]

Off to a farm later to feed some goats!

Hope everyone is well. CD, enjoy your time with the Ellie etc show, and Eddas.

oooggs · 25/07/2007 10:00

glad meal went well maveta

octo - have a safe trip down

pesha - there are council estates/houses all over Cornwall, we have ones in Saltash overlooking the river and esturary (sp?)

we moved 18 months ago and as normal we had to compromise, we chose to compromise on the garden. Left our fantastic flat, enclosed child friendly garden for a much smaller tiered one. But now live opposite a nature reserve with 4 fields, woods, stream etc...
The house exceeded our want list (thankfully after arrival of dt's!!)

mammyjoMcGonagall · 25/07/2007 10:00

Morning all. Yet another wet and crap day here. Have to go out in the rain to do some pillow shopping. I washed dh's pillows yesterday (it did say on the label that they were machine washable) and they came out all mangled! Needless to say he was not impressed! Ooops!! So I have promised to go and buy him new ones today!

Maveta, glad your meal went ok after a shaky start! Are you still bf N? I remember when ds got a bit constipated the HV told me to give him a tiny bit of orange juice off a spoon. I never tried it as he just kind of sorted himself out, but thought I would mention it.

Lol at anthracite green sunglasses!

mammyjoMcGonagall · 25/07/2007 10:02

Morning oooggs and SOL!

Sol, you made me laugh when I read about crapping on the chair!!

OP posts:
maveta · 25/07/2007 10:12

I wrote them a shitty reply re. the sunglasses asking what was available but have now written again telling them to forget it and cancel my order. Am so . Have now ordered off a u.k. site so hopefully will have them soon. And if the US company doesn´t refund my money.. um.. does anyone want baby sunglasses? Bit of a long shot given this summer´s weather??

N has had a bit of a sleep and seems calmer but still no poo. Have put a load of nappies on to wash and put him in his bouncy chair. Both of these things normally bring on a poo so many sympathies SOKL!

N is still bfed.. will give him a bit longer and see if he manages on his own but if he starts being sick and crying again might try some water or o.j. cheers girls x

maveta · 25/07/2007 10:13

oh and mammyjo you should be proud that dh´s birthday food request was your choc chip muffins! This is a very muffin-y house lately.

mammyjoMcGonagall · 25/07/2007 10:24

Pinions · 25/07/2007 11:47

RIGHT.

I have a question please ladies, and DON'T be afraid of being honest.

I am thinking of ways how to word this and it is always something, even from being a little girl that has confused me. Am I being a selfish cow?

Right. My mum sent me a text saying I have sent you some tops in the post(seeing as though I am losing weight pretty quickly am sort of running out of things to wear).

They have arrived today. And they are RANK. Capital RANK. Not only that but they are all clearly from some sort of bargain basement. And stink of smoke.

Thats my point. Cos my mum and dad are not really short of a bob or two IYSWIM.

So am I being selfish and ungrateful ro would you feel the same.

Not only that, I have to reply and what do I say?

What I am thinking is you tight cow, but of course not what I would say.

And I really want your opinions please, as honest as possible! (But just warn me if you are going to totally slate me!).

Pinions · 25/07/2007 11:50

Cor its hardly very busy today but if you are reading this and catching up, please try to mention!! TIA.
