Well its one year exactly (hopefully ) since I started the first Due April 2007 ante natal thread. How life has changed in that year, for the better on the whole!

It makes me quite nostalgic to be doing this, as it means it is a full year since finding out I was pregnant with Ffion.

I would like to thank all the ladies on the April 2007 thread for all your support, laughter and general madness which has kept me going on many a rubbish day!! You are an amazing bunch of people and I am really pleased to have shared this journey with you all.

Here's to another fun filled year!!!!!!!

morning everyone, good grief you lot can talk I haven't even attempted to catch up!

I am still shattered, ds decided to wake at 6 this morning. Think his eye was getting to him, he throw up in it yesterday evening!!! It was a little stuck and crusty, nice! And i think he may have been hungry since he was sick alot yesterday even for him. Ellie and CD have witness his chucking ability ho hum sure he's fine, maybe he has caught his daddys bug. DH told dd he had a bug yesterday, her reply? Daddy you really shouldn't eat bugs and a smack on the hand! Bless her! all he could do was say sorry and he wouldn't eat any more bugs!!!

Dd has asked if she's going to school the last 2 mornings She doesn't understand that there is no pre school til septemebr it's gonna be a LLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNG 2 months arggggggggggggggh

So how is everyone? Did i miss anything?

PMSL.

"""Two kids are enough Couples should restrict themselves to two children to reduce pollution and to help keep the UK population down, the thinktank Optimum Population Trust said this week. It said Britain?s birth rate was currently growing at its highest rate for 30 years, and that a voluntary 'stop at two' campaign would be greener and more responsible. According to the OPT, the UK population will grow by 10 million by 2074. And although it acknowledges that most of the rise will be through immigration, it argues that reducing the birth rate would also help in the quest to slow down population growth. (Guardian 11.07.07)

threw not throw>>>>>>

am now wondering if that's the right spelling

oh well you know what i mean

NearlyHeddaslessNick · 27/07/2007 08:14

i was listening/watching something the other day(can't remember what) that was going on about us adopting a similar child policy to China's one child policy FFS, I think THAT is ridiculous in itself. Yes they have reduced population growth but in the 20th/21st century are we really gonna be told how many children we can have?

Bloomin ridiculous!

liath · 27/07/2007 08:39

Well, looks like we'll be stopping at two - had a chat with DH and he says I can get a dog instead . I know he's talking sense.....but I WANT MORE BABIES .

Dd has been a lot better after my moaning - I think tiredness is a big factor and it doesn't help that we've all had stinking colds, not to mention ds feeding 3 times a night still. DH is off this weekend so hopefully we'll have some quality family time.

Will try and get a book thread started - maybe not just swaps but author & book recommendations too? Have a shedload of housework to do today and DH needs the computer for revision so may no be till later.

Octo, so sorry about your MIL ,hope she's not in any discomfort.

My list of exes is short & dull

  1. Trevor
  2. Mark
  3. Mark
  4. Mark (DH, started going out aged 19)
liath · 27/07/2007 08:55

CaptainDippy · 27/07/2007 11:09

DS' chCcking ability was duly noted - impressive!! Supposed to being going on holiday tomorrow .... Bude in Cornwall .... haven't even thought about packing yet .... ARGH!!!!!!

Leaky - to children throwing stones at your windows -what a nightmare, hope you have called the Police - not acceptable ....

Wow - an April 08 thread!!

I up for Book Swap - send me email katy!!

@ 11 yr old and the beer KHIN!!!!!!!!!!

about your MIL, octo, glad she was pleased to see / touch Ernie - You did a wonderful thing by taking him to see her, hon. so hard to watch someone slipping away like - I hope the end is not too far away now.....

How is everyone doing ?????/

CaptainDippy · 27/07/2007 11:15

Hope they are right, EKM - Getting sick of this yukky unpredictable weather. Is lovely & sunny today though.

Meant to send {{{{{{hugs}}}}} to SOL re: B being a nightmare - I have grumpy, miserable toddlers in tandem here so lots of sympathy =- My 2 can be soooooo lovely & then sooooo horrendeous, it is really tough ......

EmmyKnackeredMuggle · 27/07/2007 11:39

Hi CD, glad you had fun with Ellie, Eddas and their little ones! I want to come to Eastbourne and see you all! Go and get packing...Bude is great fun, lots of big waves and belly-surfing, you'll have a great time. And yes, it looks like you're gonna get some sun. Oh yes, and don't forget to eat lots of lovely Cornish ice cream.

Octo - I am so sorry to hear about your MIL, that is such sad news. It is devastating having to watch a dearly loved-one suffering and slipping away. All you can do is stay strong for DH and his family, and be there for DH when he needs to express his emotions.

elkiedee · 27/07/2007 12:02

Belated morning all, back home after 3rd NHS appointment in 2 days - hearing test and consultant's appointment both seemed to be ok, hearing to be tested again at 8 months (in the New Year then), consultant discharged us, I said I was sad about the feeding but chickened out of expressing my anger about what happened - not that it was really down to one person or down to that one person (the consultant) anyway.

Glad to hear yesterday was fun, Dippy. When's Ellie visiting KHIN?

How are you travelling to Cornwall - car or train?

Octo, sorry again to hear about your MIL, glad you were able to take Ernie to see her.

Katy44 · 27/07/2007 12:09

Nothing, sorry, didn't mean to worry anyone, was just up lots and v tired!!
Better go and feed

CaptainDippy · 27/07/2007 12:15

Stresful stuff this NHS lark, isn't it, Elike!!? Sigh.

Thank you EKM - I am looking forward to it, just apprehensive, iykwim!!?

Right - need to stuff food into little ones and head out to Soft Play to tire them out .......

NearlyHeddaslessNick · 27/07/2007 12:48

octo have just been reading and found your post on you MIL

It sounds very much like what happened to my mum

Not really sure what to say as it's a very tough topic for me to speak about without crying/getting over emtional. So just wanted to say stay strong for your DH and the family.

of to busy myself and think happy thoughts, might go find dd for a quick cuddle too ds, is a bit too sicky and wriggly

maveta · 27/07/2007 13:58

Just popping in.. off to Alcudia tonight for the weekend. Looking forward to a break from family, friends, plans, obligations, chores blah blah blah. Just the 3 of us and a whole lot of relaxing!

Noah STILL hasn´t pooed on the whole seems okay, still puking a fair bit but it´s obviously the straining in the wrong direction.. poor bubba.

Got to go make lunch, catch up later

Octo, I´m so sorry about your MIL and am thinking of all of you xxx

bumble75 · 27/07/2007 15:19

Octo - sorry to hear about your mil, thinking of you & hope you & dh are coping ok. Sending you a big hug xxx

Maveta - hope N is feeling ok. L hadn't pooed for almost a week until yesterday, she had two small ones and then the main event this morning - lots of straining and red faced action and then possibly the biggest smile (of relief I think) she's ever done!

Cd - glad you, Eddas, Ellie and co had a good time. Good luck with your packing and have a fab holiday!

Liath - I'll email you re meeting up.

Have a good day all
xx

Katy44 · 27/07/2007 15:20

at all the poo talk!
Have just had a very pleasant afternoon out by the river, a load of friends from uni were up for a wedding.

bumble75 · 27/07/2007 16:06

Hi Katy! Did you see you got a mention on the talk round-up email? Something about a speculum??

The poo thing is sad I know - I even called dh to tell him what his little darling had done...

maveta · 27/07/2007 16:48

Lol Bumble, I´d be the same.. N´s bowel movements are a sure winner for conversation between us these days

I think it must be about 5 days without a poo now so he really must be about to go... this morning there was the most pathetic little fart sized stain in his nappy (LOL) so hopefully it means something is on the move... I keep putting him in his chair or car seat or wherever without anything under him in the hope of tempting fate but no luck...

Just been trying to get stuff together for the weekend. We´re only going for 2 nights but trying to remember everything ...eeeek. I keep thinking I´ll sit down and then remember something else. And it´s really hot today, the actual air, even in the house, feels hot. I feel like my cheeks are burning*

*(the ones on my face - dirty minded people)

Katy44 · 27/07/2007 16:58

I don;t think I got that email bumble, would you mind sending it to me on [email protected]?

Katy44 · 27/07/2007 17:00

LOL at you tempting fate maveta! Enjoy your weekend away, hope you get everything packed

NearlyHeddaslessNick · 27/07/2007 17:01

dd has just tipped all my shampoo and conditioner down the toilet

On tuseday she put her toothpaste in the upstairs toilet then walked downstairs and put more down the downstairs one

Antention seeking? I think so, bored?, yep. Little shit? Yes

She now doesn't have any of her precious jewellery and I can't wash my hair!
