evening folks and gretngs from a wee seaside vilage in ireland. we arrivd here for our holidays yesterday. sorry i havent done any personals - so much ti catch up on.

majotr apologies - feeling really down and weepy - we spent last night in A&E - i have developed a breast abcess and had to get it lanced. awful time - the staff's inital suggestion was to stopbreastfeeding right away and werent prepared to try and get the blocked ducts unblocked. ihad to ring my bf specialist in glasgow in bed and get her to talk to them. i overheard the staff saying that i was just being selfish to keep trying -\mu wee sis nearly busted them at that. ihad crackednipples from last week and now they havebecone infected. got to goto hospital again in the morning to get them sorted. 12 weeks feeding - a bloody nightmare.

C hasbeen unsettled since we got here - i am not unsure if she senses my stress or is just out of her routine.

will be checkingin occasionaly while i am here but v limited access to pc. hope you are all ok.
GMM - did you try out the cot?

geordiemacminx · 19/07/2007 21:27

Awh WO - sorry you are having such a crappy time of it. That sounds awful!!! Have they given you something to help with pain/infection?

Yep tried out the cot on tuesday - its a bit of a beast mind isnt it? Its fits in our room - its just Billy cant get in or out of bed... unlucky!!!

They do a smaller version of it though - doesnt vibrate or anything but think it will be fine for what we need so am going to order it tomorrow.... as boots have triple advantage points online and an extra 1000 poits when you spend £50. Plus I have a code for 750 points so works out as £25 off £60.

Sorry for that completely unrelated ramble. I am obsessed with blardy advantage points!!!

CaptainDippy · 19/07/2007 21:29

Hello!

Did a little catch up .....

weeonion You poor, brave honey - good for you not giving up BF - you must be in agony. {{{{{hugs}}}}}} I am so sorry this is happening to you sweetheart - hope they can sort out your poor boobies asap.

Been v.tired today, but had a lovely PM with my friend and P. Went for a Sussex Cream Tea & a wander round town ...... She's playing Scrabble with DH while I catch up here .....

JoMa · 19/07/2007 21:31

My nips are sore.

AngeG · 19/07/2007 22:02

Evening Ladies

WO sorry about the abcess you must be in so much pain...I truly admire you for keeping going with the BF. Hope it gets better soon.

Dippy - Why sore nips?

Can't remember anything else.

CaptainDippy · 19/07/2007 22:11

Hi Ange - One word for the Nips - Overuse.

Ouch!

normabutty · 19/07/2007 22:13

WO - that sounds terrible, I can't believe they tried to encourage you to give up bf when they go on & on about how much better for baby it is. Good for you sticking with it.

normabutty · 19/07/2007 22:14

Hi CD sorry bout your nips too!!!

AngeG · 19/07/2007 22:25

Sorry Dippy, hope they recover overnight...I have days when they are really sore again, but they tend to get better overnight.

eca · 19/07/2007 22:35

oh WO you poor love! An absess!!! AHHHHHH!!! I'm sure little C will be overwhelmed oneday when you tell her how much you went through to give her the best start. I am so at the crap nurses. I CANNOT BELIEVE they have the cheek to say you were being SELFISH!!! I could fly over there and wack them for you!! What, 12 weeks of pain and tears and upset and agony to feed your baby, yeh, really selfish of you!!! Lucky you know what you're talking about and could ring Glasgow. And remember the mn mafia is behind you! Hope you get better soon lovely. Keep us updated on how you're getting on. xxxxxxxx

CaptainDippy · 19/07/2007 22:39

My nips are nothing compared to what WO is going through though, poor love. I've never had sore nips before - P is like a flamin' Dyson!!!!!

AngeG · 19/07/2007 22:40

CD - I have a lovely image now of a dyson hanging off your boobs...nice

CaptainDippy · 19/07/2007 22:43

Right - off to bed, DH is grumping ......

CaptainDippy · 19/07/2007 22:44

Stop NOW Ange - you're disturbing me!!!!!!!!

AngeG · 19/07/2007 23:10

Sorry Night night

AngeG · 19/07/2007 23:12

Anyway it's your fault Dippy you used the analogy

CaptainDippy · 20/07/2007 07:27

True enough, Ange my dear - I hope you had a good night's sleep without too many disturbing dreams about me & Dysns!!!

Eeeeek - gotta go & put recycling out!!

Sexonlegs · 20/07/2007 08:03

Morning all.

WO, so sorry to hear about your poor boob - sounds horrific. Hope you are better soon.

Katy, have a wonderful weekend away.

Ooogs, did you say the have THREE jabs at 16 weeks? Do they do all of them in the legs? Looking forward to that - NOT!

Yup, change of name, as am no longer knackered! Well, not all the time anyway!

Hope everyone is well. xx

maveta · 20/07/2007 08:32

Morning everyone, WO you poor thing! How painful that must be, I´m so sorry. You have really been through the mill with breastfeeding and you are so determined, you really are doing an amazing job and about as far from selfish as it´s possible to get!

Started writing this ages ago and forgot to post...

oooggs · 20/07/2007 08:48

Morning all - good night for a change - especially after jabs in bed by 7pm awake at 4am (both fed together taking 30 mins) then awake at 7pm. Much better

Yes sexonlegs - 3jabs 2 in right and 1 in left thighs - heartbreaking

the sun is shining so out for a walk soon, ds1 is home today - twins club this afternoon (we are not a freak show there )

Katy44 · 20/07/2007 09:03

Weeonion, poor you- can't believe you had to go through all that and then had to fight them to continue breastfeeding! You're braver than I am!
gmm - so am I since I realised I spent £100 and got £20 off! They're fantastic aren't they? I have £60 to spend but am waiting for a bargain!
JoMa, go and do the constructive thing, and I will do something useful too (still haven't packed )
T wants playing with first though!
Bramshott - I used your tip of the day, he screamed when I first put the hoover on but then quietened down and watched it suspiciously from then on - I didn't dare turn it off in case he started again so have hoovered the entire house
Right, will go back to lurking while pretendting to be doing useful stuff Bye everyone
