Just a warning - GF should come with a big pinch of salt. If you follow it to the letter you could really wind yourself up and never leave the house! If you like your routine it is fab tho.

Right, off to catch up on the day before I run out of battery.

I bf at nursery today and showed everyone my norks

trendaverter · 19/07/2007 19:45

oooh crap

I have just booked a holiday, the 3 of us are going to go to the US for 2 weeks in oct/nov....it has just dawned on me I am a lunatic

annobal · 19/07/2007 19:51

LOL TA - you'll have a great time. Where are you going?

FWIW I flew to oz with T&G (then 2 and 1) last year to visit a sick aunt. That was bonkers!

loonylovegood · 19/07/2007 19:58

I've got sick in my freshly washed hair, in my bra (Wills puked down my cleavage!) and piss all over my jeans (he peeed all over me when I changed him)! I am just sat here festering, can't be arsed to get changed as I'm just gonna get puked all over again!

HV came today and William has dropped 3 centiles. He's not even put on 1lb since birth, so I have to take him to dr tomorrow. He seems fine though, so I'm not really worried. Hope I don't get told to top up with formula!

We're going to Appleton, in Wisconsin - my lilk sis lives there and my parents have a house there, so free accomodation!

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/07/2007 20:07

just watching 'enders...when is that stella one going to get her comeuppance. I'm finding this whole storyline a bit upsetting

tha alcohol in pg thread has been raging again, but i missed it....the ops home address was posted by a MNer

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/07/2007 20:12

Holly, try not to worry about him...he was a huge baby, and is probably, as suggested on here on more than one occasion, doing catch-down growth. I don't think its unusual for big BF babies to do this.

Start a BF thread on it and I'm sure tiktok, or one of the other BF counsellors, will be able to reassure you.

loonylovegood · 19/07/2007 20:17

I'm not too worried daisy, but he is still a bit jaundiced as well, so I'm not sure if this is connected. He is ok though, he sleeps a lot, but is really alert when awake. I'm sure he is fine.

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 19/07/2007 20:20

So if they recommend formula, would you do it?

You really should ask for some MN advice on this

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/07/2007 20:20

have they given you any indication why he is still jaundiced?

loonylovegood · 19/07/2007 20:34

No, no formula! I'll start a thread on it now! Thanks daisy! No reason for the jaundice, only that he is bfed!

How are you anyway?

OP posts:
foxybrown · 19/07/2007 20:45

How much did he drop after birth?

loonylovegood · 19/07/2007 20:48

Evening foxy! Hope your dp is being less twuntish today.

He was 10lb 8oz and is now 11lb 3oz. He went down to 10lb 1oz after birth.

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/07/2007 20:58

i'm alright chick....bought some new trews today.

I also popped in to bravissimo for another bra, but they don't have them on display, so at the assistants suggestion popped in to get fitted. whipped my top off, only to forget the bra i had on had a big milk stain on it and that i was wearing overbump maternity trousers, held up by a belt as too big. felt very but she politely said she'd seen worse.

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/07/2007 21:00

holly what centile is he on now?

loonylovegood · 19/07/2007 21:07

LOL daisy! I'm pretty much in that state too. I look ok from far off, but close up I'm a real mess!

He was born on 99.6th centile and is now just above the 75th. It is really odd because Alice went up the centiles quite quickly and was a right little porker, William is really skinny!

foxybrown · 19/07/2007 21:29

As far as I remember, they can lose up to 10% of birth weight ... need Derlor for this one...

I don't think it sounds too bad IMHO. I hope you aren't worrying.

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/07/2007 21:31

He might just be settling down onto "his" centile.

Where is our friendly HV when you need her?

I've just ordered my real nappy starter pack from the lovely helpful Flame. Can't wait for them to arrive now!

I was thinking it was really quiet tonight, but everyone will be off reading their CLBB

foxybrown · 19/07/2007 21:43

Oh I hope everyone doesn't get hung up on it, I shall feel very responsible!

Mine is in the loo

foxybrown · 19/07/2007 21:46

I'm turning in now, its all catching up with me now....

DD is still awake, so I'm hoping we might get a decent kip.

Had the mother of all arguements with DP tonight. We have "moved on" and through gritted teeth agreed to be 'nice' to each other.

I give the truce until tomorrow lunchtime!

derlor · 19/07/2007 21:59

Flying visit - was just going to lurk but couldn't ignore Holly's concerns
BF jaundice can last several weeks, so long as he is feeding well on demand then i doubt your GP will be too concerned just yet but may take bloods from him to be on the safe side - (just to check his liver is functioning properly, so don't worry x) His weight sounds fine to me DON'T GET HUNG UP ON CENTILES!!!!! alert baby, feeding well wet/dirty nappies, much clearer sign of healthy BF baby than bloody centiles - PUT THE CHART AWAY NOW!!! Also Foxy was right a 10% fall in birth weight is acceptable and as he has regained his birth weight and is still putting on weight i am confused as to why your HV has weight concerns for him , maybe she just being over cautious???
Hope this helps and your GP visit goes OK
thanks for the NEXT link last night BTW - i spent a fortune.....ooooops
right i'm off after all it is 10pm (check those books girls!!!!) xx

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/07/2007 22:01

aw foxy....he should be treating you gently in this post-natal period.

have a virtual {{{hug}}} from me

I'm off too.....babyboo settled on my shoulder, here's hoping the transition to crib is easy (you can tell i haven't started on the book yet )

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/07/2007 22:03

derlor you are a gem among HVs....come and be mine (she didn't even know who i was at clinic on tuesday...but oh yeah, i've only seen her once since boo was born)

derlor · 20/07/2007 08:26

oh not like me to be 1st here in the mornings!!
hope everyone slept ALL night and is still sleeping
Foxy meant to reply to your questions last night - started introducing routine with Abbie (to suit us) at 3 weeks but did it from day 1 with Millie and followed it strictly, after such a terrible baby experience the 1st time round.

Charlie999 · 20/07/2007 08:31

Morning All

After a horrible unsettled day yesterday with DD she slept from 10.30pm till 7am, had a feed and promptly went back to sleep .

I have no idea how we managed this - I just wish I could reproduce this every night.....oh I hope my book gets here quickly......

Hope you all have had a quiet and uneventful night...
