oh darling, i knew it wasn;t you..you wouldn;t post anything as insensitve and tactless as that !

daisyandbabybootoo · 14/07/2007 20:54

phew...

foxybrown · 14/07/2007 20:54

lulu, while you are here ... can i pick your brains please?

having had no swelling during pg, my feet have swelled to enormous proportions since giving birth. fluid retention? they dont seem to go down when elevated either. am not sure what else to do, wondering if you'd heard of this before?

lulumama · 14/07/2007 21:02

it is quite common...all the extra blood and fluid has to disperse...it will disappear in a few days...

foxybrown · 14/07/2007 21:04

Ah, that makes sense! Thanks for that!

And thanks to you and all the doulas for your help at the end of my pg. I was very down about it, and my thread had a great response with loads of helpful links and info too.

daisyandbabybootoo · 14/07/2007 21:11

foxy...mine were really bad after my op. mw showed dh how to do lymphatic drainage massage which made a huge difference.

get dp to oil up then wiggle all your toes n turn. then use the flat of his hand over the top of your feet from your toes to your ankles. do this for at least 5 mins longer if preferable. then he should massage your calves and shin up to behind you knee, again for as long as possible. yor leg should be positioned with your knee lower than your feet, knee relaxed, not locked, and your dp should take your weight by holding your heel with his other hand.

i hope that makes sense...bit difficult to explain in words

it made a hooooge difference to my porkers!

lulumama · 14/07/2007 21:12

welcome foxy

it is always a pleasure, you are all such lovely ladies! and i am so glad you all have your babies, safely born

daisyandbabybootoo · 14/07/2007 21:16

loonylovegood · 14/07/2007 22:04

I'm here daisy, just buying a sling!

OP posts:
loonylovegood · 14/07/2007 22:04

Found this website with really cheap slings. Couldn't decide which one to get, was really confused!

foxybrown · 14/07/2007 22:32

awwww!

loonylovegood · 14/07/2007 22:33

Wow, double soft and fuzzy!!

OP posts:
foxybrown · 14/07/2007 22:38

don't know what to do now. DD seems to be sleeping a lot today, must be acclimatising herself.

We might have to change her name!! Neither me or DP can get it right! Keep calling her Emily.

But then I can't ever get the others right either! You know you have too many children when you can't remember their names!!!

loonylovegood · 14/07/2007 22:44

DOh! You'll get used to her name. My mum kept calling Alice Grace (?) when she was first born! She called William Matthew yesterday as well! Maybe she is just a bit mad!

Little William has been sleepy since birth, but he is still jaundiced, so that is prob why. He is a very chilled out little soul!

foxybrown · 14/07/2007 22:54

lvely sleepy babies.

am still in that holding her all the time phase. went to bed this afternoon and she slept on me mmmmmmmmm.

should take her to bed, but as soon as i go, she'll wake up. oh well.

dp has been out wiht the dcs all day, so its just been us. its been really strange literally being sat down all day. can't remember last time I did that.

not used to staying up this late either.

its a bit odd!

loonylovegood · 14/07/2007 22:56

I love it when William falls asleep on my chest, I love to kiss his little head and sniff his soft fuzzy hair! Babies are ace!

OP posts:
foxybrown · 14/07/2007 23:01

I haven't given DD a bath yet - she still smells all lovely and musty. I get a rush when I take a sniff of her hair!

loonylovegood · 14/07/2007 23:03

I love the way babies smell! I've only given William 4 baths since he was born and even when he is a bit dirty he still smells yum!

OP posts:
foxybrown · 14/07/2007 23:04

they don't really get dirty. Well, only their clothes when we drop our dinners.

Time for bed i think. Sleep well, see you tomorrow! xx

loonylovegood · 14/07/2007 23:07

Yep, bed for me too. I am so tired I'm starting to get all hot and sweaty! Night, sleep well xxx

ahhhhhaaaa found you!!!
morning all. My lovely funny wee children are back from their hols and it's great being all together again as a wee family of 5!! (DH and i did start discussing the possibility of another baby last night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - someone slap me hard PLEASE!!!)
Just dropping in quickly as we off to a christening today.
DKMA - hang in there, you are doing fab and just don't be so hard on yourself - it is a HUGE life changing transition going from being footloose and fancy free to having a baby. No one or nothing prepares us for it so just take one day at a time and enjoy this stage as much as possible - oh and tell all the visitors to fark off (unless they are coming over to do housework of course )
Daisy - rash behind ears......when you lie babyboo down she will sometimes possit a wee bit of sick, this dribbles down behind one or other ear and this results in a little red spotty rash [smile} , common to see round chin and neck too x
right i'm off to preen myself and everyone else in this ever increasing family of mine, have a good day everyone xxx
