oh Dm1 hang in there, sorry you've had a tough day, hope you get a good night x

derlor · 18/07/2007 21:53

re sent it Daisy

loonylovegood · 18/07/2007 21:53

No decision on dp's job, he has to go back on mon. In one way it's sort of good because he is still suspended and so is around to help me (he only took 4 days off when william was born, so it will be nice to be looked after a bit), but it leaves us worrying for nearly a week, which is shit!

Apparently next have pulled the codes! Bugger! No bargains for me! The question is can I be arsed to go on sat morning? Hmmmm....

No routine here, just feed and sleep whenever, but it seems to be working for us ok! I sort of wish I could do a routine, but I'm really not that organised! Well done to anyone that is!

FFS Holly! That's shite. Is he still being paid? Are you OK?

derlor · 18/07/2007 21:56

oh dear Holly, did they say why the wait? have they not come to a decision or are they just making him sweat???
re the NEXT codes - bisims

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/07/2007 22:00

yAY, GOT IT...THEY'RE ALL SOOO SOOO CUTE

oops, sorry

holly, no news is good news i suppose. try not to worry and have a nice week.

Right, i don't care about this little one, but i need my bed.

i'll just have to leave her with living tv and the remote control if she doesn't want to sleep. she's lying here to all intents fast asleep...until i move that is!

loonylovegood · 18/07/2007 22:01

Nope, no decision! The wankers know we have a new baby, so really need to know so we can get our lives in order! He is still being paid his basic, but as he is not working he is earning no comission, which is shit!

I've just looked and there is a way to get the sale prices at next now. I'll just find the link.

OP posts:
loonylovegood · 18/07/2007 22:06

Next sale codes. There is not much left, most of the normal sizes are sold out. I've lost my account no and they won't give it to me over the phone, so I have to wait til they send it to me in the post...grrr!

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 18/07/2007 22:07

and for you holly. limbo is never a nice place to be.

having never been to the opening of a next sale, is it likely to be busy at 5am....are people that mad as to get up for 5am on purpose?

loonylovegood · 18/07/2007 22:09

Yes daisy, it is mental. People queue all night! I went at 6am once and had to queue for fucking ages, it was mad! Now I don't bother, the january sale was such a pile of shit, nothing I wanted was in stock, it really has put me off!

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 18/07/2007 22:15

i just wanted a couple of things for my hols as none of my cropped trousers are fitting at the mo.....and the vertbaudet shorts just do nt stay up any more.

not that i'm expecting much of british seaside weather.

as babyboo now appears comatose, i'm off to bed....g'night

loonylovegood · 18/07/2007 22:18

Night daisy, email me your address and I'll send you THAT book and the baby whisperer if you want. Routines are not my thang! xxx

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 18/07/2007 22:19

holly i'm going to get it tomorrow in town..the postage will be more than the cost of the book i think...she's strictly remainder books these days i reckon

dm1 · 18/07/2007 22:25

Right - just have to put new covers on bed so not sleeping on plastic waterproof protctor - thank god we got that - and then off to bed.
I thought Next only brought out the crap stuff for sales and none of their current stock............. Anybody who gets up at 5am for fun has got to be m m m crazy.

derlor · 18/07/2007 22:52

Charlie999 · 19/07/2007 10:18

Morning all - am I the only one about?

Had a shitty night - up every two hours with DD - she is now sleeping it off while I've got a house that looks like the pits to deal with!

Can I ask a really stupid question - what book is it that teaches you how to introduce a routine? I would love to know where to begin to get DD into a routine (at least for feeding)

Hope everyone had a better night than I did

annobal · 19/07/2007 10:20

Morning luverly ladies! Hope you're all well. Am learning the joys of triple tasking this morning - feeding ds3, snuggling ds2 (sore teeth) watching thomas and typing...

Not a great night here - dh has a strep infection and was up most the night with a rash, poor thing. Charlie slept well though....

Right off to catch up.

annobal · 19/07/2007 10:25

Hi Charlie. Baby whisperer is meant to be very good and a lot more gentle than Contented Baby.

I personally have used Gina Ford with both of mine and will probably do it with this little one too but you do need to take it with a grain of salt and not let GF's routine and baby's lack of adherence to it get to you. I have always taken the outline and worked around it (I don't think I have ever put baby to bed in darkened room through the day - they've all slept in their prams).

annobal · 19/07/2007 10:33

Thanks Daisy

Holly, I'm so sorry you still don't know, how shitty for you all.

Foxy, I'm also a big one on routine - don't think I would have got any sleep otherwise (and my nips would have been chewed off).

Charlie999 · 19/07/2007 10:39

Thanks for that Annobal - off to the Amazon website to have a look .

My DD sleeps anywhere - down here, darkened room, car-seat, pram etc so quite lucky there. I just need to get her into some sort of routine with feeding and sleeping (within reason obviously) if possible. she is nearly there herself but I don't know what I can do to encourage it IYKWIM.

She is STILL asleep having been awake most of the night - oh famous last words, there goes the monitor......

foxybrown · 19/07/2007 10:40

Morning! How's everyone today?

DD slept for a 5 hour stint last night, shame it was from 8 - 11. She's also started feeding from both breasts so things are going very well, have high expectations that I'll get a decent kip soon! She had her first bath this morning - we had one together and it was lovely. She was a bit scratchy, but when I lay her down and put he ears in she was very peaceful - must have reminder her of this time last week!

Very impressed with your multi-tasking Annobal! How are your boys?

Charlie, another Contented Baby vote from me, and I totally agree with Annobal, use it as a framework and don't get hung up on it. When I first read it for DS1 I couldn't get to grips with it, but when he was 8 weeks old and I was struggling, I revisited it and things really fell into place.

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/07/2007 10:45

morning

after all her faffing and fussing, babyboo slept from 10:30 till 4:30, then 5:30 till 10.

my boobs like torpedos as a result, but i had a great night.

off into town today (to buy that book ) and dh taking me out for lunch

ouch, she's just headbutted me!

foxybrown · 19/07/2007 10:47

wow! What a result Daisy!

You are sleep-spoilt! 8 hours at the weekend, 5 hours last night ... you must feel almost human

annobal · 19/07/2007 10:47

Hi Foxy, T&G totally bonkers still. They do love their brother though which is very sweet. Am definitely not looking forward to next week when there is no school and no DH. How are your lot, has school finished yet?
