I think I'd better wait till the DCs are in bed before drowning my sorrows

DH home tonight and he'd have a hissy fit if I was drinking wine at teatime (he thinks I'm a borderline alcoholic cos I come from a family who enjoys a tipple, whereas his family are high days and holiday types).

I'm a bit peeved he's coming home actually as I kind of like my weeknights to myself and me and the DCs are getting into a nice wee routine. He puts everything out of kilter when he's home.

daisyandbabybootoo · 17/07/2007 17:09

Has anyone had a look at that BBC ad looking for parents with young babies to take part in a programme.....

...as if I'd let a stroppy teenager loose on my precious baby...they must be mad.

mind you, if there's money in it

loonylovegood · 17/07/2007 17:12

I was thinking that daisy! I would never let some 16 yo chav near my precious bundle!

I might crack open the bubbly! I drank all the real wine!

annobal · 17/07/2007 17:13

LOL Daisy - remember it IS the BBC...

annobal · 17/07/2007 17:14

Oooh - bubbly does sound good - have put in an order with DH if he EVER comes home from Pizza Express.

I'm not sure exactly what I'm complaining about

foxybrown · 17/07/2007 17:16

LOL Annobal!

loonylovegood · 17/07/2007 17:17

We've got a magnum of Bolly that DH won in a raffle just before we got married two years ago......I definately think he wouldn't be impressed if I polished that off by myself...

loonylovegood · 17/07/2007 17:22

Go on daisy, you know you want to!

Mine is sparkling pinot grigio, not as posh, but still yum!

OP posts:
annobal · 17/07/2007 17:22

LOL Holly

Daisy, if you put a spoon in the top it will last a couple of days

daisyandbabybootoo · 17/07/2007 17:28

Why don't you lot come around for a girlie night in and we can drink it then

Just went to check the cottage pie that I pout in the oven half an hour ago to reheat, and the door had sprung open and in doing so switching oven off.

I'm having a reaaaaaalllllly reaaaallllllly bad day!

Never mind wine, I'm heading straight for the gin tonight!

loonylovegood · 17/07/2007 17:29

I'd go for the meths daisy!

OP posts:
foxybrown · 17/07/2007 17:34

You really have had the shittiest day Daisy! Gin is better for Babyboo anyway. Champagne causes wind apparently

Annobal, you are classier than us. DP has taken ours to Pizza Hut. Not even real cheese. And he'll let them have a froot shoot probably. Please don't dob me in?!

So if the foot-swelling lasts 3 weeks, how long before the sweaty, stinky, milky grossness goes too? Is that all part and parcel of it and will that be 3 weeks? I feel disgusting!

annobal · 17/07/2007 17:47

LOL Foxy - there is no pizza hut near us

You have had a horrible day Daisy! Meths might burn a bit, I'd stick to the gin.

I'm on my way over - the magnum should do for me, not sure what everyone else is going to drink though

bumperlicious · 17/07/2007 17:58

I'll have a glass or two if you are offering!

Sorry you are having such a shit day daisy. I think a big glass of something is order!

Chair came and it's gorgeous! Dh bought the wrong batteries home though so we are a slave to swinging it. DD is ambivalent so far! I love it though!

Doctor said we don't have thrush. Told her about vasospasm and Reynauds and she hadn't heard of it in the nipples before but has prescribed me some Nifedipine to try after I showed her an article on it.

God, I could eat the world at the moment!

dm1 · 17/07/2007 18:00

Maybe we should do an experiment to see which alcohol makes the lo's sleep most soundly!
I'm up for the vodka........

andiem · 17/07/2007 18:01

God I would kill for a drink haven't had one for so long lo was ivf so had to stop in run up to treatment during treatment when pregnant etc etc

I am running over love the bubbly stuff will fight you for the magnum annobal

annobal · 17/07/2007 18:03

Good news Bumper - hopefully this will sort it out.

DH has just arrived home with a luverly bottle of white wine (not sure it needs a name), so I can report back tomorrow...

May have to try different types of wine to see which has the best effect

annobal · 17/07/2007 18:04

I am pretty good at arm wrestling andiem

andiem · 17/07/2007 18:07

oh I could do girly fighting have two brothers so have had to defend myself in the past.......

Bumper glad you may be sorting your pain out mine seems better since I stopped putting cold kamillosan on it says in the literature that cold can exacerbate it

daisyandbabybootoo · 17/07/2007 18:36

Ha Ha...DH won't be home till late, so I can start on the wine as early as I like and be in bed before he gets home!!

I hope babyboo wakes up soon...my left nork needs her!

Bumper, I hope the drugs sort you out. I'm pretty sure that's what was going on with me with DS and I get the same if DD isn't latched properly.....the end of my nipple is pure white for ages after a feed and the pain is like a deep seated ache that lasts for ages as well.

annobal · 17/07/2007 18:57

Andiem

Sex in the city time - DH reading story to T&G, C had a feed and now asleep again (may have to take him to cranial osteopath every day).

Bumper - hope this sorts things out.

derlor · 17/07/2007 20:23
