Do they not have socks they could lend him derlor? Or they could have taken both off?

DH went to work in odd socks yesterday because he allegedly didn't have any clean ones. There is no bloody wonder DS1 is such a lost cause. I will blame this on MILs theory that one child is lonely, two is company and three or more bring themselves up. She had 4...

MIL bitching always cheers me up!

Oooo - just got email from la redoute offering to save me money on my shopping. Socks perhaps?

derlor · 05/07/2007 21:00

Lilkel, i totally agree my brain has packed up and run off leaving me only with a head full of poo!
I even had to phone my work friend earlier to help catc with a simple question that i answer every blardy day at work. like i say POO!!!

derlor · 05/07/2007 21:02

oh oh oh i LOVE MIL bitching - bring it on!!!

derlor · 05/07/2007 21:04

an clearly not, no socks in the whole house to lend him!!!
btw he is sitting beside me, still just wearing one!! i'm such a slacker, can't be bothered to go upstairs and get him another pair.

riabutterflew · 05/07/2007 21:05

I would say he has about a week holiday owing and several years worth of days off in lieu. He will probably get the holiday pay, but things easily go tits up in catering and get nasty, especially in this area for some reason. I think he chose 3 weeks himself as that takes him up to the week before his operation which will give him a few days off with us and someone has mentioned a weekend casual job for that weekend.
Obviously it would be a lot better if he could make a decision and stick to it, but he keeps trying to talk it through and work at it as it's a stable and convenient job (or would be if it wasn't an almightly piss-take.)

I think PN women should be excused everything! I got a little confused between lbs and ounces after the HV came and started stressing that pootle isn't back up to his BW at two weeks. I was convinced he was down 2lb when the MW came to discharge us but it's actually only 1-2ozs depending on whose conversion chart you believe. I am SO STUPID . Perhaps that's what's wrong with my cooking too?

riabutterflew · 05/07/2007 21:07

It's nearly bedtime derlor, surely no need to make another pair of socks dirty now? Not in the house anyway

I am off to put my maternity trousers on ebay. Am I being a bit previous? Surely even I can't eat enough to make my stomach that big again?

foxybrown · 05/07/2007 21:09

He sounds as though he's been extremely reasonable and they are taking the piss. Its just shite. Am so sorry, wish I could help. gets my goat, it really does.

derlor · 05/07/2007 21:10

sure you won't need the trousers again Ria, say in a year or so?!?!?!?!?!?!

foxybrown · 05/07/2007 21:12

I think I'll go to bed and try and get this lo to sleep too. Alien is spot on!

Night all xx

derlor · 05/07/2007 21:13

night Foxy, sleep well (while you still can ) x

daisyandbabybootoo · 05/07/2007 21:20

Gosh, it's been busy on here tonight.

DD has been awake now for over two hours, and just doesn't want to settle. Hopefully this means she'll sleep longer tonight.

feeding time at the zoo again.

i'll catch up later

derlor · 05/07/2007 21:29

Hi and Bye Daisy i was just wondering where you were.
I'm off for a feeding frenzy now too, mine then DD2's!! night all x

riabutterflew · 05/07/2007 21:33

pootle is still fast asleep (because my dad walked up and down with him for ages...)

Have started messing about trying to backup our photos... could be here all night (bugger, that means I'll be knackered again tomorrow.)

Night all. Thanks for being friendly and supportive and lovey (and ever so slightly bonkers - just like me!)

Don't encourage me derlor, I am so surprised by how much I'm enjoying having another baby I keep having those sneaky feelings of "I can't believe I'll never have another..." This is NOT happening to me (at least it's not likely to with DH at work all the time!!)

BadZelda · 06/07/2007 08:32

Morning all - looks like I've missed you all AGAIN as I only seem to get on here between about eight and nine am...oh well. Party was quite fun if a bit freaky as there were literally about 1000 new meedja types there and it's quite a while since I've been to an event like that - but what the hell it was free booze and I bumped into a few people I hadn't seen for literally YEARS...

Thanks for advice r.e. sterilising / feeding. Ended up just putting everything in the steamer for a couple of minutes. Managed to express 4 oz and I was out the door but luckily LO was quite happy taking it from a bottle and it did her till midnight when I got home. Phew!

Caved yesterday and bought a double buggy as I'm really struggling getting around with the two kids. They are fucking expensive! What a depressing thing to spend loads of money on...still I guess if I don't trash it I can sell it again next year when DD1 is old enough to walk around herself?

trendaverter · 06/07/2007 09:28

WOOHOO!!

I went to bed at 8pm and slept til 6.30! (save the nighttime feeds/changes), but oh my god I feel human.

Colicy babies seem to like listening to Dreadlock Holiday as well, he is settled!

trendaverter · 06/07/2007 10:54

Where on earth is everyone?

justbeme · 06/07/2007 10:58

Morning TA!
Hope you're lovely sleep did u some good after your horrible day yesterday!

daisyandbabybootoo · 06/07/2007 12:33

oooh its quiet today.

had a great night last night....babyboo slept for two five hour stints and was only up for an hour in the middle, so I've had a great sleep. DH had her downstairs with him, so maybe it's me that's making her wake. We might try her in her own room and see how it goes.

Had a few hours off this morning as well....I had a hairdresser appointment so I fed her and expressed some milk before I went which she took all right.

Its a bit of a mystery how much is enough for a feed for her, but I emptied one boob and then got some more out of the one she'd just fed on and I got 3oz.....she had 2oz when I was out, the other oz when I got back and then fed from me again....but at least I know I can leave her for a few hours if need be.

Hope everyone is OK today...TA you sound more chipper after some sleep. I take it the new teats are working a bit better then?

hollyandalicewillbedogtanian · 06/07/2007 13:26

Good afternoon!

Glad you had some quality sleep daisy and TA! It gives me hope!

My HV is coming in an hour an my house is a shit tip. ALice has thrown all her toys and books on the floor, there is a massive pile of washing up in the kitchen and there is a never ending sprinkling of crumbs everywhere! Will the HV report me to social services if I can't be arsed to tidy?

Glad you had a good time at the party BZ, reminds me that I must get a RL back! What buggy did you buy?

foxybrown · 06/07/2007 13:28

hello all!

fuckarseshittyshitshitewank

thanks for listening.

how's life over here? seems like day by day its all getting a wee bit better

foxybrown · 06/07/2007 13:28

Holly, stop playing online bingo and put a load of washing on!

hollyandalicewillbedogtanian · 06/07/2007 13:29

Hey foxy! How are you feeling? Not too pissed off I hope.

hollyandalicewillbedogtanian · 06/07/2007 13:31

I've done 2 loads of washing this morning actually ! I just can't be bothered to do anything else. There is tennis on!

daisyandbabybootoo · 06/07/2007 13:39

Hi holly......i'm sure they see much worse, ask Derlor!! You've got an hour to have a quick skiff around i suppose. I managed to make my house look reasonable before DH got home last night.

What's a HV? mine has been once (when DD was 10 days old) and said she'd call to see how things were going the next week and that's the last I heard of her. I might make it to the clinic on Tuesday if I'm organised in time.

Had a horrible time with DS yesterday. he just doesn't listen to anything and then when he's getting told off he constantly argues back and has toget the last word in. If you ask him to be quiet he's full of "I'm just trying to tell you something" Don't quite know how to deal with it, so always end up losing the plot with him.

He told me that he's fed up of Emily getting all the attention, even though he gets lots of one on ne time himself. It's very very difficult this temporary single parenting malarkey when you have more than one child.

I've been MNing far too much recently.....I've even started dreaming about MNers....and not even you lot, just random names that I've seen in active convos! how sad is that

hollyandalicewillbedogtanian · 06/07/2007 13:42

I do the dreaming about mners thing daisy! It's very disturbing. It's prob because I spend so much time mucking about looking at active convos and laughing at the weirdo nutters!

I'm going to have some ice cream and then do some chores. Then I spose I can have some more ice cream as a reward!
