hello everybody
trace - thinking of you and your family at this difficult time, hang in there and have lots of family hugs for support xxxx
Foxy - hello my lovely - my DD1 was also born in the caul, and my MW got all excited especially when she found out that DH was a sailor - he still carries the goo with him in a sample bottle when he is at work!!!!
you could sell your DD's goo on ebay maybe?!?!?!?!?!?!
Daisy, sorry you are going through such a rough time - if i can help at all please let me know x

daisyandbabybootoo · 13/07/2007 13:54

It's great to have us all under one roof again isn't it?

what a great birht experience Foxy......when's the next one then?

Went to the baby cafe this morning and they think my probs are too do with fast let down leading to a lazy latch. No sign of tongue tie. so, we need to just keep taking her off and re-latching until she gets it....

...but I've been a bit lax with her so it might take a bit to get back on track.

more later....she's hungry again!

foxybrown · 13/07/2007 14:31

Next one. HA!

its nice to be OFFICIALLY here!

BadZelda · 13/07/2007 14:31

Hey there

Haven't been on here for ages again...glad I'm not the only one struggling a bit with toddler and newborn...it's damn hard work! Foxy and Annobal - hurrah! Congratulations!
Trace so sorry to hear about Chloe...do hope they find out what it is soon...fingers crossed for you. What else did I miss?
zx

loonylovegood · 13/07/2007 16:06

Hi everyone and welcome officially to foxy!!

Best wishes to you trace, hope everything goes well with the tests. I'll be thinking of you and chloe.

I am going to fucking kill my dp. He is a stupid cunt! I hate using that word, but I feel in this situation it is highly appropriate! He went away with work yesterday for a conference and got so pissed that he has been suspended and he thinks he may get the sack! I am so cross I can't even talk to him. If he gets sacked we will be seriously up shit street. Not only will we have no money, we will also have no car as he has a company car. As I am writing this I can feel the anger washing over me, especially as he has come home and fallen asleep on the sofa and is now snoring. AAAARRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEE barely even covers it! Sorry for the rant, but I am so angry I can barely express it in words. I warned him before he went not to drink too much as he turns into a complete twat when he is drunk, but he went and did it anyway. This is just what I need, brilliant!

justbeme · 13/07/2007 16:07

Knock on the door... Can I come in?

loonylovegood · 13/07/2007 16:11

Hey jbm! How are you and your lo? Any name yet?

justbeme · 13/07/2007 16:15

Hi!! no, no name Im afraid - we've been so busy only sat down today to talk and DPs top3 dont match mine and then I went onto Top 100 names re births register and found that most of our names we like are very common so its back to the drawing board!!

Sorry to hear about your other half by the way - I'll let you off the swearing as its officially allowed in shit situations like that!

foxybrown · 13/07/2007 16:18

what the hell did he do while drunk to get suspended????

loonylovegood · 13/07/2007 16:24

He doesn't know what really happened, he is trying to piece the night together, that's how pissed he was. He has to go to the office on weds to find out what is going to happen. If he gets sacked I don't know what we are going to do. Just when everything was going so well. TWUNT!

Good luck on the names jbm! Having a name in the top 100 is not a bad thing, it just means you have chosen a good name that other people like too!

How are you foxy? Sore?

justbeme · 13/07/2007 16:27

Ive just put my birth story onto the end of my childbirth thread - but as you know - I STILL cant do links!! (Mind you its not very pleasant reading - you do say you want all the gory details!!)

so now I can talk engorged breasts - ouch, yellow poo, constant feeding, hiccups, sore perineum, baggy stomach, swollen feet still, errr have I missed anything out??

justbeme · 13/07/2007 16:28

Is that you Holly? (LoonyLovegood?)

justbeme · 13/07/2007 16:29

Oh Oh and you can tell Im excited about being here-
"Hello Foxy and Annobal - we did it!!"

and special hi's to everyone else - lots to catch up on.

foxybrown · 13/07/2007 16:33

We did!

loonylovegood · 13/07/2007 16:37

Lots of new things to moan about!! Yes jbm, it's holly! How does eveyone guess ?!

daisyandbabybootoo · 13/07/2007 16:39

A big Hi to all the "newbies" out there

Can't believe we're all post-natal, although still to hear from one or two stragglers.

We've come a long way!

currently looking through the mindboggling minefield that is re-usable nappies. Now babyboo is down to one or two pooey nappies a day we want to use real nappies.

so many choices....not good for an indicisive wretch like me.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

daisyandbabybootoo · 13/07/2007 16:42

Holly at your DP. he must have been a very very silly man. i can understand your . Fingers crossed he just gets a rap on the knuckles rather than lose his job. after of course he's had a kick up the pants from you I hope

loonylovegood · 13/07/2007 16:46

I can't be bothered to give him a kick daisy! What is the point? All I want to do is scream and shout at him, but what will that achieve? After seeing my parents have the most monumental row yesterday I am not in the mood for confrontation!

JBM, the crunchy epi sounds awful and ouchy! I was in exactly the same state after my dd was born. I couldn't hold her I was just shaking and crying with the pain of being torn and stitched up! Glad you are both well!

annobal · 13/07/2007 18:12

Hello! I've been very lazy and sleeping most of the day. YAY, we're all here.

Foxy, your birth story is lovely - well done, you deserve to have such a lovely one!

JBM - our LOs share a birthday - how are you??

Holly, it took me a while to figure out who you were (well you telling me...) how are things?

Daisy, I have some Fuzzi Bunz that I'm not using - they'd be too big for now but you can have them if you want them (they have the inserts too). I loved them but can't see me using them any more.

annobal · 13/07/2007 18:15

JBM, I can't find your birth story?

daisyandbabybootoo · 13/07/2007 18:19

oooohhh annobal, yes please, how much do you want for them? and why won't you use them yourself?

What size are they? and are they all-in-ones or do they need a separate wrap?......its so bloody complicated this......

and were any small rodents harmed in their manufacture? and what is their carbon footprint? and were they hand stitched lovingly by ethically treated organic workers in the developing world????

glad things are going well chez nous!!

daisyandbabybootoo · 13/07/2007 18:48

I've CATted catsuitgirl to say hi and that we're all wondering how she is. Hopefully we'll hear from her soon.

wonderful though this site is, its not so great when people go AWOL and just disappear. I do hope all is well and she's just too busy with new baby to post. I'll keep you all posted.

weddingcake · 13/07/2007 18:54

Congratulations to the new babies and sorry to hear about your husband loony - seems awful to make him (or actually my sympathy is more with you) wait til Wednesday to find out what is going to happen. I don't know what he does but would it be worth him going grovelling on Monday in a kind of 'I don't know what came over me... honestly I'm mature' fashion?!

Well I loved getting out in the real world last night and even better was that there was enough expressed milk left for DH to do a night feed so I got a straight 4 hour stretch - never thought I'd be grateful for that but my how things have changed over the past 4 weeks. Add that to a 2 hour sleep today and I feel amazing!

Questions now though...

  1. How much do other people manage to express as I only seem to get about 30/40 mls each time and with last night's bottle of EBM being such a success I'd like to make it a more regular event.

  2. Is anyone else still suffering with really swollen ankles?

  3. Awkward one this but is anyone prepared to discuss weight with me? I was 1 stone overweight when I got pregnant then put on 3 stone. 1 1/2 came off fairly quickly and now it's stopped - I'm guessing that 4 weeks on and having more or less stopped bleeding, the chances of losing any more weight without really trying are slim.

I'm sure I know the answer to this but would just like some fairy godmother to swoop in and tell me that it's common to suddenly lose 3 stone at 6 weeks or something due to some hormonal reason!

  1. How long do most people's LO's feed for per sitting. I know this is a how long is a piece of string situation but I'd just like to get an idea of some kind of average as I'm still feeding every 1 1/2 - 2 hours (he was a month prem so that's what I was advised to do) but he only feeds for about 10 mins before dropping off or becoming riddled with wind and then it's hard to interest him again. Would obviously like to aim for longer feeds less frequently but he's gaining weight so well taht I probably shouldn't mess with our system and just resign myself to more weeks chained to the sofa with greasy hair and my boobs hanging out - I swear I must resemble a little britain sketch some days!

Haev a good weekend everyone!

justbeme · 13/07/2007 18:54

Holly it was the "Twunt" and "arse" that gave you away!! Lol!

Annobal the birth story is on my "Justbeme Might just be in labour thread!" under childbirth topic.

annobal · 13/07/2007 19:02

LOL Daisy, they were lovingly stitched by moths in Mutu .

I don't want anything for them, just email me your address and I'll send them through (mn name @homechoice.co.uk).

They are petite toddler and large size (so won't be able to use for a while) but loads of inserts (fit all sizes) - I think there is about 6 or so. Fuzzi Bunz are really easy to use - you stuff the insert in and you're away. They don't need a wrap. To wash you just put the inserts and the outer in the wash and wash on a hot wash with about a quarter of usual washing powder/liquid.

If you want more info on fuzzis or any other nappies, this website was great and I always got good advice from them and fast service here
