new thread, sorry for the unimaginative title!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
TALLULAHBELLE · 12/07/2007 17:40

Bumper my LO is now 7lb 3oz - up only 5oz since birth, will be 4 weeks on Sat. The poor weight gain or rather weight loss after first week was what sent the m/w into flat spin & started our b/f probs. However, my HV wasn't in the slightest bit worried about the weight, checked her thighs & said there was enough meat on them & judged her health by her alertness. My friend (an ex m/w) visited me today & totally agreed with HV that if baby is bright & alert, is feeding & producing wet & yellow pooey nappies then don't worry about a few ounces.

andiem · 12/07/2007 17:48

apologies to derlor not all hvs same grovel grovel
tallulah sounds as though your friends are right anyway babies supposed to lose weight in first week!

am just on whilst ds1 finishing tea and ds2 sitting in chair trying to pace out evening bfing can be a bit of a frenzy so am going to hold him off until after bath. At least this time I know this doesn't last for ever

I got some jeans on today so very pleased couldn't sit down or anything but hey can spend all day standing

have a good evening everyone I will be lucky to get back on puter once bath bed madness starts

daisyandbabybootoo · 12/07/2007 18:05

lol andiem...I can get my jeans on standing too, its that rather attractive spare tyre that appears when I sit down that's the real issue here.

DH is home....yipee.....other than boob sevices, I am officially OFF-DUTY

daisyandbabybootoo · 12/07/2007 18:07

but....my biggest critic (ie my charmng DS) told me today that my tummy is back to normal, so I mustn't look that bad

andiem · 12/07/2007 18:16

I am thinking of doing a gwyneth paltrow and wearing a corset or magic knickers all the time only prob is can't eat so much essential when bfing I feel

annobal · 12/07/2007 18:21

I did forget that it takes a while - am currently looking about 30 wks pg! As for jeans, i doubt that the size of my pads would fit into them, let alone my enourmous arse!

annobal · 12/07/2007 18:26

then it must be true daisy

daisyandbabybootoo · 12/07/2007 18:28

annobal.....didn't welcome you to post natal earlier....how very rude

congrats again ....how is it going? Is he settling OK and how are the boys liking their new babay brother?

bumperlicious · 12/07/2007 18:38

Magic knickers are great, but not particularly comfy for sitting around in!

Thanks for the message Tallulah, I'll stop worrying!

Daisy, how are you feeling today? Hope things are better now DH is home.

anyone else's nipples still hurt? Mine aren't as bad as the first few weeks, but still pretty tender. HV seems to think we are latching on fine but nipples still a bit sore between feeds. do they just need to toughen up?

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 12/07/2007 18:43

bumper, mine have good days and bad days where they are sore then not sore.

Feeling a bit better today...DS has been a little more manageable and we've actually been having a bit of a laugh with DH since he got back....although he did strop all the way home from school which took all my patienced to ignore.

did anyone see that thread earlier with the troll...someone was deliberately winding people up (thinking name changer) and making nast comments over several threads. The main thread has been pulled by MNHQ. what enjoyment people get from doing this, i just don't know!

daisyandbabybootoo · 12/07/2007 18:44

i bought some spanx in debenhams which come up to you boobs and down to nearly your knees and are great! get a bit hot though...they're like double layered tights materia;l

andiem · 12/07/2007 18:49

bumper my nips are still sore 3 weeks in only when latching on took about till 6 weeks with my ds1 until they were hardened!

daisy do you wear the spanx apparently if you wear control pants it is supposed to make everything go back more quickly......

annobal · 12/07/2007 18:51

Thanks Daisy! Boys are really lovely with Charlie - Tom likes to say hello and wave to him then play with the jet he brought, George is absolutely over the moon with him and wants to give him cuddles all the time. He's just woken up and they both want him to go to bed with them. So far, so good. Not sure what will happen when DH goes back to work , but just found out that Mum and Dad are coming over in September for a month so very excited about that!

I can hardly walk, let alone manage stairs so am stranded on top floor and am under orders not to do anything - it's a hard life

Bumper - I now also have very sore norks as milk has just come in. Am hoping to sleep through baby blues tonight so I won't be too unbearable tomorrow.

daisyandbabybootoo · 12/07/2007 19:08

no, i just wore them to a do on saturday, but i might try them around the house....they get a bit hot and stuffy though!!

TALLULAHBELLE · 12/07/2007 19:09

My nips still sore too - esp the left (my 'bad' side). Sure its not due to poor attachment as have had so many people check p&a & all say its fine. Must be wear & tear - well they've never had this much attention before!

daisyandbabybootoo · 12/07/2007 19:09

annobal, that's great your folks are coming over..when did you last see them?

annobal · 12/07/2007 19:14

Daisy, they were here last July so almost a year. Am already getting very excited.

daisyandbabybootoo · 12/07/2007 19:17

not that long to wait then really till September. i see my mum a few times a year and i feel that's not really enough, can't imagine not seeing her for over a year

we've not heard from foxy since this morning.....maybe she's off having her baby????

bumperlicious · 12/07/2007 19:54

Thanks guys, feel reassured on the nip front. HV seems to think we are doing fine on the latching on so hoping it'll go soon. Saw these on another thread. wonder if they are worth it?

annobal, good luck tomorrow. I remember thinking "this day 3 isn't so bad" then 5pm (the time DD was born) bam! Tears! So hoping you get through unscathed!

do the spanx work daisy? I've thought about getting them too.

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 12/07/2007 19:58

bumper I've read good things about those silver nipple things, but personally i wouldn't waste the money as your nips will harden up soon and you won't need them. put the money towards a massage or a facial or something!

derlor · 12/07/2007 20:09

FANFARE ANNOUNCEMENT FOXY HAS HAD HER FOX CUB*
Born at home at 7.34pm all went perfectly. yipee yippee yippee

congratulations to the whole Foxy family

annobal · 12/07/2007 20:12

Thanks Daisy - they're coming over to make sure we actually go in April next year...

Bumper, sore nipples are horrid - my mw says that olive oil is the best as they only get cracked when they're dry.

I do hope Foxy is off having a baby - I think today is the last day she can have her home birth. Will have to check her thread...

annobal · 12/07/2007 20:13

YAY - well done Foxy, that is THE BEST NEWS!!!!!

daisyandbabybootoo · 12/07/2007 20:15
