new thread, sorry for the unimaginative title!

Jamantha, the same has been happening with DD. She is feeding evry 1.5-3 hours now (used to go up to 4) and only feeds for about 15 mins before falling asleep. Plus she is pooing much less than before. Can't explain it I'm afraid but maybe someone else will be able to...

Great news Ria!

hello all sorry if not fully caught up yet ...

bumper - what type of sling did you get? I've found the old BabyBjorn we had had come in very handy for those times when S must have comforting contact and my older DS must eat his dinner!!

wee S has still screamed for every bowel movement of late so we're off to a consultant paed tomorrow morning. I hope to find out once and for all if this is milk-related, or what. There was actually blood on the stool on Sunday . Bloody NHS ignoring us...

good news is we went to Legoland on Sunday. Wow. I'm not sure if we had more fun than DS or what!

lilKelBel · 09/07/2007 14:50

that's great news about the new job Ria. way to go!!!

Good luck Foxy...!!!

foxybrown · 09/07/2007 15:27

you went to legoland? I've not been brave enough to take any of mine there - am seriously impressed

Just got back. All fine, placenta functioning fine, baby growth fine, all fine. Had a sweep. fine. Can hardly walk, fine. Am fine when I sit down, but try to move and it hurts. Now that sounds like farking braxton hicks to me!! Cervix favourable, head very low, stubborn little minx!

Booked in for Friday to have a pessery. Wasn't going to go for 42 week induction but as they told me the cut off for a homebirth is 42 weeks, and its not a crochet hook job, seemed like little point in saying no. Plus I couldn't be arsed to sit there any longer and wait for the consultant to come back from lunch to scare me about the risks. Yes, I bottled it after all.

Great news about the job Ria! Tell us all about it. YIPPPEEEE!

trendaverter · 09/07/2007 16:14

Aw foxy you bottled it?! Come on you could have beaten me!

derlor · 09/07/2007 16:15

Flip Ria it takes about 12 weeks to change jobs in the NHS!!! i'm well impressed at the speed of things in chefland - FAB news
Hi Foxy chick - are your pains progressing at all??

derlor · 09/07/2007 16:18

hey TA, what you up to?

trendaverter · 09/07/2007 16:27

I am sitting and playing with Ebay

S has been an ANGEL today, I can't believe it, eats, burps, change nappy, sleep for 4 hours, and repeat. That's it.

I had a visit from my HV to make sure I am not losing the plot like last week, she seemed happy and left after about 20 minutes.

I have things to do but I am shattered and can't think straight though, oops. So I figure I can't do too much damage on Ebay.

Although I should probably update my webpage or do some housework or something but I can't think intellectually atm

trendaverter · 09/07/2007 16:32

What are you up to? Busy day? How is you LO?

derlor · 09/07/2007 16:33

ooooh playing with ebay sounds expensive!! - i logged onto La Redoute's sale yesterday and spent £100!! - oops, got 15 items though
Glad your HV is taking good care of you.
i've done feck all today actually and i feel totally unashamed about that!!
well that's not completely true i have sent you an email and made a cup of tea

derlor · 09/07/2007 16:35

Abbie is FAB - very well behaved, sleeping at the mo but due to waken up soon.
DH and i are going to the cinema tonight in between feeds!!!!!!!

trendaverter · 09/07/2007 16:41

Really?? Are you taking her with you?

Ebay is brilliant, you can buy really nice baby clothes for nothing, I have bought before, half the clothes are hardly worn, bargain!

trendaverter · 09/07/2007 16:44

oh yes - will reply to your email when my brain is working, probably tomorrow morning, afternoons are not good times for me, I become zombie like!

daisyandbabybootoo · 09/07/2007 16:44

jamantha...my dd feeds much quicker these days, but MW assured me that's because they get more efficient at sucking as they get older. she still feeds the same frequency...about 3.5-4 hours from end of one feed to start of the next, sometimes more, sometimes less.

I hadn't heard that about their poo....DDs hasn't been particularly grainy ever ....Derlor, can you clarify???

Foxy my sleep deprived brain is struggling....does that mean you'll be having a hospital birth then? maybe things will kick off tonight for you?

yay for your dh Ria...here's hoping this place treats him better!

derlor · 09/07/2007 16:46

yeah i love ebay, bought and sold loads of stuff.
No, not taking her, grandparents coming over, she is in quite a strict routine and ALWAYS sleeps between 18.30 and 22.00 so we're going to see oceans 13 starting at 19.15, will be home before 22.00

trendaverter · 09/07/2007 16:49

Oh brilliant!

My folks are in Essex so I have to drive from Reading - Essex so me and DH and go and watch Harry Potter in a couple of weeks. I CANNOT wait, I am getting excited thinking about it. Yes, I am sad.

PPPffhhh I wish people would stop out bidding me

daisyandbabybootoo · 09/07/2007 16:49

hi lilkel, TA and holly too.

holly...too late, I'm just back from Mothercare! in my sleep addled state i bought some t-shirts and a cardi in 0-3 months...stoopid really cos she'll be out of it before long! it's not as if i don't have 0-3 month stuff.....i suppose i can always take it back. don't know what i was thinking.....

trendaverter · 09/07/2007 16:53

Helloooo Daisy
Mothercare are usually pretty good at exchanging stuff though so don't worry! I bought lots of useless stuff that I ended up taking back and swapping for things I DID need....like nappies.

derlor · 09/07/2007 16:57

oh POO!!!!
this is a VERY comon concern, basically a baby's poo can regularly change in consistency and colour, going from soft and mustard-yellow with or without grainy bits, to yellow with green specks, and then back again the next day. This is completely normal.
The grainy bits are just curdled milk which they sometimes get, think it depends on how long since last poo IFSWIM. Also some babies poo ALL THE FARKING TIME and others only poo every few days or so to once a week!!!!
also don't worry about baby falling asleep whilst feeding - this is normal.
perhaps recent stint of big long feeds was down to a wee growth spurt - short feeds may just be her normal. my LO currently in short fast feed mode too.

trendaverter · 09/07/2007 17:00

Derlor I wish you were my HV
Mine is lovely and very caring and sweet, but completely scatty, she forgets we have conversations and then asks me exactly the same questions each time she visits.

derlor · 09/07/2007 17:00

i've got loads of stuff to swap/return cause so many muppet folk have bought 3-6 and 6-9 month summer stuff - dddooouuhhhhh!!! it'll be winter!

daisyandbabybootoo · 09/07/2007 17:02

aha, the voice of reason.....i'm going on the assumption that as she is growing and poos nearly every nappy we have nothing to worry about....in fact she seems to have grown overnight!

how is it going with them Jamantha?

derlor · 09/07/2007 17:03

oh TA - i'll be your HV on here any time, just ask about anything and if i can't help you i'll speak to one of my colleuges (?sp) and get back to you x

derlor · 09/07/2007 17:04

it's the same here Daisy - LO now in 0-3 month stuff and was 9lbs 2oz when weighed last wed!!

trendaverter · 09/07/2007 17:04

S used to poo every nappy but about 3 days ago he switched overnight to only pooing once a day... I am told this is normal, hope so! Less nappies used anyway

10 years ago did you ladies ever picture yourselves sitting on the internet discussing the consistency, frequency and colour of shit?

I have to say I did not
