Not enough sleep, too much wine - I have just bought pootle a vest on ebay. It says "when I grow up I'm gonna be a chef". Why would I encourage such nonsense (re eduacaion - old topic I know - DH has a diploma in hotel & catering management and could probably earn more £ wiping tables in McDs. FWIW I only have the one Alevel - part time at night school age 17 when working as a typesetter - and I cheated in my typing exams! I havent found my vocation yet - think it might be having babies! Now all I need to do is work out how to fiddle the benefit system and I can ditch DH...)

Goodnight.

daisyandbabybootoo · 07/07/2007 08:04

Ria, it always amazes me how you keep upbeat with things......we should definately meet up when i'm over your way. my dh can entertain all the boys and we can sit and drink tea and chill for an hour or so, give you a much needed break!!

BadZelda · 07/07/2007 08:34

Morning Laydeeez! Good luck at your wedding Daisy.

daisyandbabybootoo · 07/07/2007 09:05

Happy birthday BZ! hope you have a fab day!

I'm worried dd is constipated. she hasn't pooed in 24 hours and normally poos nearly every feed. she is writhing around making faces but has been for 2 days anyway because of wind. could she be constipated? anything i can do to help her?

Happy birthday to You BadZelda!

What are you going to do, oh party girl, to celebrate today?

foxybrown · 07/07/2007 09:43

bumper - bf babies may not poo very often, as they are so efficient in their use of the nutrition they receive.

But welcome to my world. I think about my children's movements almost to obsession! And get anxious if they don't go every day! (but they aren't bf!) What goes in and what comes out is a big part of my life!

I'm such a saddo!

Jamantha · 07/07/2007 09:52

bumper - my Lo has pooed much less the past 24 hours, having previously gone with every feed. Part of me is concerned, and part of me wonders if she's just adjusting as she gets a little older?

And last night we decided we think our LO has got colic! Yes we're joining the ranks of despairing parents. I admit we're getting off lightly as it only seems to be a problem in the evening, from about 6 - 9.30, but unfortunately for me that's just when I want to be winding down towards an early night.

bumperlicious · 07/07/2007 09:53

thanks foxy. i wouldn't worry but she looks like she really needs to go!

how are you feeling anyway?

OP posts:
Jamantha · 07/07/2007 09:56

And happy birthday BZ

bumperlicious · 07/07/2007 09:57

Sorry your LO is suffering too jamantha. at least it's not all day and you can kind of predict it. don't have any solutions though TA has been using dentinox and thinks it is helping. someone else, derlor I thing, recommends New Era colic relief.

foxybrown · 07/07/2007 10:02

Fennel tea? Gripe water after 4 weeks? First time I used it on DS1 was very satisfying! Biggest belch I'd ever heard. Worth a go if you want to try something more natural perhaps.

I'm on fine form today, thanks Bumper, despite being full of a cold. DP taken lo's swimming, so thats they're activity done for the day. Been to supermarket (in my pjs, noone knew) and would really like to have a baby today as its so sunny and lovely.

Seems to be one day good, next day shite. Today is good. Hope to birth on a good day!

Jamantha · 07/07/2007 10:03

I actually feel most sorry for DH (well after LO of course). I have a lovely baby to look after all day, he gets in from work and within about 15 minutes she's turned into a crying monster. And by nighttime, when I'm on feeding duty as DH isn't suitably equipped, she's a dream baby again, feeding and sleeping well, so he doesn't get to see the best side of her at all. Hopefully she'll keep this pattern up over the weekend so that he can see I'm not making it up about the daytime. (Though why I'd make it up that she's been lovely all day I'm not sure)

riabutterflew · 07/07/2007 10:12

morning all. it's sunny on the coast today. yipee - I can do my laundry.

daisyandbabybootoo · 07/07/2007 10:30

sorry your Lo is suffering Jamantha....i think it's usual that it affects them in the evening. i hope some of the remedies already discussed work for you! fingers crossed we have escaped anthing like that so far, but she does have a habt of farting really loudly and waking herself up

bi nervous about this wedding today and having to bf in public or my norks leaking....bought myself a nice lacy bra (first bit of fancy undies since october...nice) and don't want to wear bloody breast pads. they don't leak very often, but just wait....

right...better get ready...leaving house in hour and a half and dd to bath and clothe...ds to wash and clothe and me toshower and get dressed and made up. bet dd will chuck up all over herself, or me or dh....or all of the above

BadZelda · 07/07/2007 10:46

No disco plans today, just chilling. DH is just making me a lovely brunch and generally spoiling me. Then I'll do the hoovering. Exciting stuff ;)

Jamantha · 07/07/2007 10:48

hope the wedding goes well daisy. We turned down invite to aweddiing today thinking ut would be just 1 weeek before due date. Still glad we did, not sure we're together enough yet for a wedding. I am having 1st outing without LO though - well for more than 10 mins, to go get a hair cut,so am now expressing in case she gets hungry in the hour that I'll be gone.

lilKelBel · 07/07/2007 11:13

just to say thanks for all your support & ideas yesterday - specially TA!! I really was having a rotten day with DS acting up and DD's feeding problems.

What wonders a few pints of guinness with the girls last night will do

Plus DD has taken her last few feeds really well - we've started using gaviscon. May this be the cure for her gulpy/windy/crampy ways? Time will tell...........

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BZ!!!

riabutterflew · 07/07/2007 11:18

It's going to be a long day. DS1 has been hovering with intent (and I can probably only string out room-tidying til lunch). DS2 having hysterics because it keeps raining.
At least pootle is asleep for now!

riabutterflew · 07/07/2007 11:19

DH is going to hand in notice today...

bumperlicious · 07/07/2007 11:45

Glad today is better for you lilkel.

Daisy, good luck today! Did my first public bf yesterday and I was so anxious but dd was good as gold!

Ria, will he really do it today?! Is that a good thing?

OP posts:
riabutterflew · 07/07/2007 11:54

dont' know to either of those questions bumper. As foxy said yesterday though, it can't be any worse. Oh bugger.

weddingcake · 07/07/2007 13:01

Hi - I was a due in July who came early so have been lurking on your june thread to boost my morale that we're all going through the same things.

I would've posted and introduced myself earlier but have had a nightmare past week or so starting with bad nights and now spreading into the days. Basically baby j seems to have permanent wind - don't think it's in the colic league yet but poor little mite is so uncomfortable and NOTHING seems to work.

At 4 am this morning I was looking up cranial osteopathy on the internet but would much rather have a personal recommendation so if anyone knows of a good one in SW London, please please let me know.

Promise I'll post a less rushed and desperate message at some stage. Congratulations to you all! x
